Background
It is a “hook” or “grabber” that gets the reader’s attention.
The background educates or entertains the reader.

Green asks the writer to decide:
“What am I going to prove?”
“What information will I share?”
“What am I going to explain?”
Reasons, Details & Facts
Introduce key concepts to support the topic sentence.
Yellow means “slow down.”

Present evidence.
