A fun filled day of teamgames, sports coaching and exciting activities as well as swimming fun in the pool. All led by qualified coaches from the Sports Development Team. Each day has a different time table of varied activities. For those regular to this activity please note the earlier start time. This is something that is being trialled for this holiday programme.

Don’t forget your packed lunch and swimming kit.

Footie Fest is a day filled with a variety of fun football games and challenges. Qualified coaches will help participants develop their skills as well as lead exciting team games and activities throughout the day. This session will be taking place indoors so please wear trainers. Shin pads and a packed lunch are also required.

Have a go at a mix of everything and learn new skills in this fun session, providing a great introduction to sport. Certificates Awarded!

Specifically for players with: cerebral palsy, visual impairment, deaf / hearing impairment, amputee (leg & arm) and learning disabilities.

Level 1 aims to increase confidence on a bike and covers the basic skills of riding. It is ideal for children who are beginning to ride, with or without stabilizers. This course is away from traffic as is totally off road and led by National Standard Instructors from Staffordshire County Council.

Birches Valley Forest Centre is an excellent starting point for an exhilarating day out on Cannock Chase. Participants must be competent riders and if possible bring your own mountain bike. Limited numbers of bikes are available to borrow but please check availability before booking. The session will consist of mountain bike skills, improving confidence and a ride over the chase all led by qualified instructors. Helmets must be worn.

For 5-11 year olds who have previously attended a bikeability level 1 session (parent / guardian participation is recommended too)

Pedal progression is a follow on from the level 1 course and will include fun games, bike maintenance and support for parents. Parents / guardians are encouraged to participate and help your child improve to ride as well as how to maintain their bike. Please note that children are required to have completed the bikeability level 1 course to do this session. Please bring your own bike (not required for parents / guardians) and helmets are strongly recommended.

TRI-ACTIVE

These sessions are aimed at young people with motor coordination difficulties or learning disabilities. Coaches will introduce participants to games and skills typically played in the school playground such as hula hooping, skipping and ball skills in a fun and calm environment. Participants are encouraged to attend both days.

PLAYGROUND SKILLS FOR YOUNG PEOPLE WITH MOTOR COORDINATION / LEARNING DISABILITIES

Have a go at this indoor triathlon – swimming, rowing and running. Coaching on the different techniques will be given followed by a fun competition with all three events being timed to get your overall time. Medals awarded to first three boys and girls in each age group. Please bring your swimming kit.

Enjoy interactive dance mats to show off your best dance moves! You can also try our interactive game zone with exciting games such as smash ball, force field, dodgeball and jump rope.

A fun afternoon of action based around this fast paced sport. Participants will be put into teams and take part in a variety of fun competitive games.

This session is a step on from the Multi Mix Mini programme and will give participants the chance to play a variety of specific sports such as cricket, dodgeball, badminton, basketball and more.

Tackle the climbing wall, take aim at archery and try your hand at bushcraft where you will create small fires (under strict supervision). Marshmallows/squash cordial may be given to participants, please notify us if this will be a problem.

Toddler time is aimed at children between the ages of 2-5 years old. It is an interactive play session designed to increase children’s communication and learning through music, light shows and games.
