To share a news item found elsewhere on the web, copy the web address (URL) and then paste it into your status update.

If you, or others, create useful content on YouTube, it can be shared on your Facebook Timeline which will allow your followers to watch the video within your timeline

Facebook interaction is enhanced with photographs, so use them often, or share photographs which others have taken (remember to credit them)

You can ‘tag’ friends or pages by typing @ and then starting to type their name – select the name from the list presented

Tagging means your friend/ page will be notified that you have tagged them and can approve this tag so that others may see it

Use the spaces provided to add more information about photographs, and particularly links

Seek out good photographs for your header image and change it periodically to add interest to the page (e.g. seasonal, monthly, to feature an event)

Occasionally however this can be a nuisance, or inappropriate for your page

You can remove posts which are abusive, or against the aims of the page

You can also block persistent offenders Remember, this is your page!

HOW FREQUENTLY TO POST?

Think about how often you would like to receive an update from a page you are following

Think about when those who follow you are likely to be on Facebook

Aim for once a day to start with – remember to schedule a post for the weekend days too

Vary content Check what is working Check when your most popular posts are,

and what type Experiment, and adapt to suit your audience
