Abstract — Description o f Stenelmis koreanus sp. n . is given completed wi th the specific differences f rom its nearest ally. W i t h 3 figures.

The widespread genus Stenelmis D U F . is represented by more than 100 species, of which about 6 0 species are known from Asia, excluding Korea from where heretofore no species o f the genus had been recorded.

Fortunately, I had an opportunity through the courtesy o f D R . Z . K A S Z A B to examine a considerable number of specimens belonging to the genus Stenelmis captured at Korea. The specimens consist of two species, and one o f which is S. vulgaris N O M U R A , while the other is seems to be a new species. I n addition to the above material, some other specimens o f Korean Stenelmis preserved in the collection o f the California Academy of Science, were also examined through the kindness o f M r . H . B. L E E C H . They proved to belong to S. vulgaris.

I n the present paper, I give the description o f a new species and some notes on S. vulgaris f rom Korea for the first time, based upon the collections mentoined above.

Before going further, I wish to express my cordial thanks to D R . Z O L T Á N K A S Z A B , Director-General o f the Te rmésze t t udomány i M ú z e u m , Budapest and M r . H U G H B. L E E C H , Angwin of California for their kindness to give me the privilege to study the Korean Stenelmis-species.
