JUNE 2015 NEWSLETTER

Programs funded in part by the Dept. For The Aging

I’m Back…..

It’s June and I’m back from time away. I had a wonderful trip to Italy and the food is still

fantastic, the countryside gorgeous and the people still friendly.

I came back to our Holistic Health Fair which was a huge success and we thank Professor

Egues and her nurses for all their hard work. We are talking about planning another Fair in the

Fall.

There is a lot going on here at Stein. We celebrated our wonderful Volunteers on May 21

with a breakfast. As we always say, we couldn’t run Stein without you! Thank you for all the

work you do.

The Epiphany Library is holding their Book Club here at Stein while their space is getting

renovated and we welcome them to Stein.

We have just gotten a new phone system and we’re working out the glitches, so if you have

had trouble reaching us, we apologize. Since the new system works with our computer

network, we needed more bandwidth, so it should be fine now.

We are planning some important new programs starting soon. Our Nutritionist, Denise

Sabal and Dr. Ira Laufer, an Endocrinologist and Diabetes expert are planning a Diabetes

Support Group. This will allow seniors with Diabetes to get expert advice on medical and

nutritional issues affecting your condition. The date and time to be announced shortly.

And finally, just a reminder to attend and support the classes and groups that bring you to

Stein since your support is the key to continuing these activities. Your support is also vastly

important for our meal program, both in numbers and contribution. This year, our

contributions were less than are expected, so your help is needed to meet our levels. If you

can, please contribute to the cost of lunches served at Stein. Thank you for all you do.

Sincerely,

Jane Barry, Executive Director
