Dr. Marius SteigmannSurgical & Prosthetic Soft Tissue DevelopmentAfter the period of pure osteointegration and function, a new era of implant dentistry is demanding an aesthetic soft tissue outcome. With the new incision flap design sutures are necessary and this surgery has to be adapted for each patient depending on Biotype and the quality of the soft tissue (Mucosa or Gingiva). These factors determine the way in which we do aesthetic implant surgery today. Different tissue types react differently to injuries and have varying patterns of healing. The diverse suturing techniques add to this phase of soft tissue predevelopment. In addition to the special care in the aesthetic zone, you must also consider prosthetic design of the emergence profile. Restorations around implants trigger reactions and biological changes different from natural dentition. The prosthetic analog or digital design of the components leads to improved soft tissue aesthetic, especially after bone graft procedures in the aesthetic zone.

Dr. Olaf Daum Soft Tissue Management & Bone Augmentation — Single Tooth to Full Arch ReconstructionHard tissue deficiencies can be corrected by various procedures, e.g. autogenous grafts, bone splitting and spreading, or distraction. This presentation shows the correct technique for Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR) and the proper combination of autologous bone, articulated grafting material, and collagen membrane. By applying occlusive membranes, the GBR treatment concept enables a predictable regeneration of osseous defects. Demonstrations will show single implant placements with augmentations up to full arch reconstructions of atrophic alveolar ridges as well as various techniques to manipulate the soft tissue before, during, and after implantation.

Prof. Tiziano TestoriMaxillary Sinus Surgery & Alternative TreatmentsSinus elevation surgery has become an indispensable part of the practice of implant surgery, periodontics, and oral surgery. Procedures have evolved during the last 30 years to a point where sinus grafting surgery is considered the most successful augmentation procedure performed today and the survival rate of implants placed in grafted sinus is comparable to implants placed in the non-grafted posterior maxilla. The sinus elevation procedure is still evolving today due to the development of new surgical techniques and new biomimetic technologies. This two–day course will be held by leading sinus elevation experts involved in clinical practice, teaching, and research activities. The two-day course will present sinus elevation surgery and possible alternatives to sinus surgery. Anatomic models will be utilized to give participants a hands-on introduction to the lateral window approach. This hands-on experience will include both traditional rotary techniques and piezoelectric surgical techniques. Multiple video presentations and live surgery will enable participants to realistically experience sinus elevation surgery. The course will present both evidence-based and new state-of-the-art techniques.

Dr. Yvan Tesolin DMD MScThe Esthetic Zone: Avoiding ComplicationsThe esthetic zone offers many challenges and can leave the practitioner with some unpleasant outcomes. The presentation will look at some failures and what elements were avoided during the evaluation period and the surgical errors made to get these unpleasant results.

Dr. Bogdan BâldeaMaintaining 3D Architecture in the Esthetic ZoneThe evolution of concepts and technologies brings a new a perspective regarding ultimate goals in the field of esthetic implant dentistry and conservation of the soft tissue architecture. The key factor, maintaining soft tissue architecture, starts the moment the tooth is extracted, especially in the esthetic zone where the therapeutic decision is crucial. The lecture objective is to discuss the restorative concept in the esthetic zone from the extraction to prosthetic implant-supported restoration using minimal invasive techniques. Achieving esthetic perfection is not a choice but an obligation. This lecture will benefit not only surgical clinician specialists, but also general practitioners that are performing surgery of the esthetic zone.

Dr. Florin Lazarescu MIPP — A Modern Approach on Prosthetic RehabilitationTreat severely worn dentition cases with a minimal invasive approach utilizing advanced ceramics and adhesive materials, combined with complete rehabilitation in CR, increased VDO dimension and double veneering techniques.

Dr. Timur Nugmanov Classification of Bone Defects of the Alveolar Process in Implantological Treatment and Methods of their EliminationIn the dental implant practice we often face the lack of hard and soft tissues which affects the implant survival rate. To determine the quantity and quality of bone tissue, we conduct x-ray examination, with subsequent treatment planning. The desired volume of keratinized attached gingiva around the implant should be 3-4 mm. Taking these requirements to the soft tissues as a basis, we classify them in one of two classifications: >=3-4mm is “A”, <3 mm is “B”. From a prosthetic point of view, the implant must be positioned in the alveolar bone. The volume of the hard tissue should be evaluated with respect to the installed implant, serving as a guide to how much bone we need, and, accordingly, what problems we may face.

Dr. Yoav OrbachExtraction Site Management and Preparation for Implant Placement in the Pre-Maxilla The success of an esthetically demanding anterior Implant case depends not only on the clinical ability of the surgeon, but also on the timing of the various procedures that are executed starting the day of diagnosis to the delivery of the final prosthesis. We will discuss current protocols for treatment of extraction sockets, dilemmas faced and options the clinician and patient have when timing of treatment isn’t always as straightforward as we would like.

Dr. Jawad Ali Abu TairJaw Reconstruction After Large Defects, What is the Future?Typically, the jaw needs to be reconstructed after excision of tumors or other defects. Traditionally the jaw is reconstructed with many types of surgical procedures like free bone or free vascularized grafts. New techniques using 3D modeling and bone initiating materials, including BMP potentially could replace the traditional ways. We will present a few reconstruction cases comparing traditional methods with promising new techniques with emphasis on morbidity.

Program Program

Dr. Ionut Branzan Full Mouth Rehabilitation on Implants Using Galvano TechniqueRecently emerging CAD/CAM technology positively influences to the entire scope of dentistry and dental technology. The technology provides many possibilities for dental prostheses, be they fixed, removable or movable. Many prosthetic restorations do not reflect just how much work and effort lies behind them. Discreet, they are harmoniously integrated in the intraoral environment. There is a need for increased dental technical efforts through the final restoration of a patient, especially with prosthetic restorations on implants. This presentation aims to describe the way in which a discreet and harmonious total prosthetic restoration on telescopes and implants is achieved. Even in difficult cases, the concept of making conical crowns using the plating-ceramic technique with complete ceramics patrix and pure gold matrix has many positive features that facilitate a long-lasting restoration and high comfort for the patient.

Dr. Kirilov BranimirEsthetics in Implantology — Modern Surgical Aspects of Implant Treatment in the Frontal ZoneThe esthetic success in front maxilla restorations is often perceived as full integration among neighboring teeth and soft tissue. Success is measured primarily by the parameters of “white esthetics” — shape, size, surface morphology, proportions, color position and angulation. But there are other critical parameters, such as morphology, texture and color of the surrounding gingiva — “pink esthetics”, that often go unappreciated. Soft tissue serves as a natural framework for dental crowns and its wellbeing is mandatory for esthetic success. Often the soft tissue is deliberately ignored because the handling and maintenance of its appearance is very challenging, time-consuming and highly unpredictable.

Dr. Shuh-Chern Tan Successful Bone Augmentation for Dental Implants in Everyday PracticeAdequate amount of soft and hard tissues play pivotal roles in the success of dental implant treatment. Dental surgeons are often faced with situations where the implant sites have been severely resorbed, resulting in compromised positioning of the dental implants or made dental implant treatment almost impossible without prior surgical procedures to increase the hard and soft tissue volume of the implant sites. Different techniques of bone augmentation have been recommended over the years; from block bone graft, ridge splitting, distraction Osteogenesis to guided bone regeneration, each having limitations. For everyday implant practice, in the mist of achieving successful outcome in the dental implant treatment, dental surgeons are always in search of techniques that are easily achieved in the routine clinical set up with least morbidity to the patients.

Dr. Ronen DekaloImplementation of Novel Digital Workflow — Strategies in a Multidisciplinary Private Practice Setting from Dream to Reality We will critically evaluate the new materials and associated technologies of computer aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) for prosthodontics, and predictable digital pre-op design. In this lecture, we will review the use of state of the art dentistry in a private clinical setting. Are we dreaming or have we reached our goal?

Dr. Cosmin DimaHorizontal & Vertical Bone Augmentations — The Secret to SuccessThe target of the conference is to present three-dimensional reconstruction of the bone to a volume that allows insertion of implants in the ideal position in terms of prosthetic, even in cases of patients with marked bone atrophy. This can be done using modern techniques supported by indisputable contribution of modern bone regeneration materials. Regenerations were sustained also by the latest surgical techniques such as Socket Shield and Free Gingival Graft. The key to success, however, is represented by the stability of both bone and connective tissue graft, especially tension-free flap closure. If these criteria are fully respected, spectacular results can be achieved even in situations that might seem impossible to treat.

Dr. Ahmed Osman Effect of Connection Design on the Long-Term Implant Prognosis Within the last year implant design has developed dramatically to provide better prognosis and superior peri-implant tissue support. What was allowed in the past as implant survivor rate is no longer accepted by the clinicians nor the patients. The deep understanding of the bone physiology, biomechanics and the technological development of the implant manufacturing allowed to introduce major upgrades to the implant design to deliver a reliable treatment for our patients. We will discuss the impact of the implant fixture-abutment connection development and its influence on the implant positioning and the long-term implant success rate.

Dr. Givi OrdzhonikidzeImplants & Aesthetic Outcome — How to Avoid Failures In the anterior region esthetics plays an important role in treatment. Patients expect not only a fully functional restoration but also an esthetically pleasing and long lasting solution. A predictable and esthetic result can only be achieved by adhering to a proven clinical protocol, which is based on precise diagnostic procedures; conventional and meticulous treatment plans. We will discuss customized transfers and abutments, teeth preparation to the adjacent implant and how to get predictable results and plenty esthetic outcome using CAD/CAM in implant supported restorations.

Dr. Kaminskyy Valeriy Valerievich “Spanish Chips”Dr. Kaminskiyy presents a clinical case demonstrating the gradual replacement of anterior incisors (11th and 21st) in the upper jaw with immediately loaded implants, in a patient with high esthetical demand, discussing drawbacks of temporary and regular abutments and the impact on the final result when there are unpredictable conditions.
