Steam Express - Fairy Queen

The journey of the heritage train, Fairy Queen is a 1 night/2 day journey where one does not get an overnight stay on the train. The train leaves from Delhi Cantonment Railway station (every 2nd and 4th Saturday) in the months of October to March. One gets an overnight stay at one of the hotels of the destination, Alwar. During the stay, one can enjoy various cultural programs that are organized during that evening. At the time of the journey, the travelers get a chance to visit numerous historical monuments of Delhi, sightseeing of Alwar and visiting the world-famous Sariska Wildlife Sanctuary where one can enjoy the facility of a Jeep Safari for exploring the amazing wildlife.

HISTORYFairy Queen is well-known as the oldest rolling locomotive of the world and is rightly put in the category of heritage train. The train started its journey way back in the year 1855 till 1908 but due to some reasons, its regular operations were halted. The Indian Railway again in July 1997 again started the journey of this

heritage train that started from Delhi and goes on till Alwar. A major highlight here is a visit to the famous Sariksa Wildlife Sanctuary.

ITINERARY

The itinerary of Fairy Queen includes 1Night/2 Days of a momentous journey. In this period you visit the beautiful city of Alwar, and the world famous Sariska Wildlife Sanctuary.

Day 1, Saturday

8:40 HRS REPORTING AT THE DELHI CANTONMENT RAILWAY STATION.

9:10 HRS STEAM EXPRESS DEPARTS.

13:00 HRS LUNCH ON BOARD.

16:00 HRSWELCOME AT ALWAR STATION ON ARRIVAL WITH TIKA & GARLAND OF GUEST BY

RTDC.

16:30 HRSTRANSFER TO HOTEL TIGER DEN OR SIMILAR BY DELUXE COACH VIA LAKE PALACE

AT SILISERH STOPPING AT LAKE PALACE, SILISERH FOR TEA/SNACKS.

17:30 HRSWELCOME & CHECK-IN AT HOTEL TIGER DEN OR SIMILAR WITH WELCOME

INCLUDES :

All meals-Breakfast, lunch and dinner with tea / coffee provided on board or in hotels.

All meals in the hotel are on buffet arrangement. Breakfast will be served after return from jungle safari at

hotel Tiger Den / similar one. To prevent inconvenience to other group members all guests

are requested to adhere to the specified timings.

Full package cost has to be paid at the time of booking.

Foreign Tourists will be charged as per the prevalent exchange rate of INR.

CANCELLATION RULES :1. There shall be no refund except.

When the train is cancelled for technical reasons by the Railways.

When the tourist is not able to travel on account of unforeseen circumstances.
