    Part B: CP Proposal

    The proposal (part B) should not exceed 25 pages and must include the following

    B.1. English summary: English summary should describe the proposed applied research, objectives,

    methodology, expected outcomes and economic and social impact, if any (one page maximum)

    B.2. Arabic Summary: is an understandable translation of the English summary(one page maximum)

    B.3. Problem Definition: Describe the problem you are going (attempt) to solve in the project and its

    implications, and explain the impact of solving this problem on Egypts economy and society needs (two

    pages maximum).

    B.4. Technology description and applications: Describe briefly the technology you are going to apply in

    the project (figures are encouraged if applicable). Indicate if the application represents a brand new

    technology, new application of existing technology, or imitation/modification of an existing technology.

    Indicate the applications, benefits and impact of the applied technology to the subject area, and to thesociety in general(three pages maximum).

    B.5. State-of-the-Art:Describe the state-of-the-art in the project subject area (existing products, patents,

    publications, ...). Also, describe any previous achievements or pilot studies which have been conducted by

    you (your team) within the project subject area. It is worth to mention your relevant international

    publications, patents, former research grants and applied experience in the project subject area in this

    section of the proposal (two pages maximum).

    B.6. Objectives: Briefly and succinctly states your projects main and specific objectives (one page

    maximum).

    B.7.Approach and methodology: Briefly describe how your project will be implemented, including your

    general approach, activities, methods, and project inputs. Specify the methods only to the extent needed

    to give a general idea of the work to be done and the findings it will yield(four pages maximum).

    B.8. Society/Market need and stakeholders: Describe the national society/market need for the applied

    technology. Indicate the general and specific key stakeholders in the technology, and if there is already

    potential interest in or investment opportunity for the technology (two pages maximum).

    B.9. Project outcomes and impact: List the expected project outputs (typically tangible products,

    prototype(s), applied solutions and societal/economical impact). Avoid general benefits and focus on

    specific, measurable benefits only (one page maximum).

    B.10. Key references: List recent and relevant literature and patents cited in the proposal (one page

    maximum).

    Part E: Appendices

    Documentation additional to that in the proposal text should be attached in appendices. Items

    included in the appendices should be referred to in the text and might include: background

    charts, tables, graphs and line drawings, preprints of publications prepared by project personnel

    and pertaining to the proposed project, letters from consultants or collaborative agencies

    expressing willingness to participate in the project; letters of endorsement from organizations or

    individuals familiar with the problem to be studied or with previous work of the project staff,

    and any other information corroborating staff competence.

    The following Appendix is required, and is considered to be an essential part of the Project

    Proposal:

    An endorsement letter by the legal representative of the PI's institution stating theproject title, the name, position and affiliation of the PI in charge of the proposal, that

    the project was not funded or submitted to another agency (national or international),

    or otherwise declare, and that the institution approves the project. This letter must be

    signed and stamped by the institution (Scan & Upload).
