Nutrition, physical activity, and sleep are three very large important factors of an overall health status. There are so many things that get uncovered when diving into nutrition such as all the different kinds of vitamins, fats, different kinds of diets (Mediterranean, gluten free, vegan, vegetarian, etc.). When achieving a good health status, that usually includes eating foods that are essential to your body in the right portions such as fruit, vegetables, protein, water, etc. With healthy behavior regarding food, there is also performing a healthy behavior known as physical activity. There have also been studies that the more physically active you are, the better rested you are. Sleep is also very important when it comes to concentrating and focusing not only for school or in work settings but for social events as well. There are multiple studies that say a driver sleep deprived is just as bad as a drunk driver. Just being able to function properly is enhanced with the more sleep a person receives. Both sleep, nutrition and physical activity go hand in hand with each other and are important behaviors to perform for a better health status.

(H) 1.2 I will perform a demonstration outside that involves students getting up and participating different exercises.

(E) 1.3 Students will know what it means to exercise and what different exercises target such as yoga, cardio, etc. (See content notes) (Equip), Students will use a Cluster Word Web (1) that will allow the students to think about what tabs they want to have on their website and what they want to include. Students will use the paired heads together activity to group students together so they can work together and help each other gain a better grasp on terminology. (Explore), Students will create a website that explains and demonstrates a fitness challenge. (Experience)

(R) 1.4 Function aerobics will be used for checking for understanding to see students understanding of different exercise and make sure they grasp what the exercises do and how they are beneficial. (Rethink), Peer Assessment using Rubric by peers on making a website that reflects a fitness challenge. (Rethink/Revise), and feedback by teacher on website using Rubrics that reflects a fitness challenge. (Revise/Refine).

(E-2) 1.5 Formative Assessment: Pre-Assessment: KWL; K- What do you know survey? What do you want to know? What have you learned? These three questions and assessments will help me as an educator make sure they meet the standards the state requires and they feel like they have taken something out of the course. Checking for Understanding: Function Aerobics and Timely Feedback: Teacher/Peer
