• Disney was founded on October 16, 1923, by Walt Disney and Roy O. Disney

• Contract with MJ Winkler to make a series of Alice Comedies

• Originally know as “The Disney Brothers Studio”

• On November 28, 1928 Disney released Steamboat Willie which happened to

be the very first cartoon with Mickey Mouse and also the first time Minnie

Mouse was seen.

• After releasing comics and cartoons over the next nine years, Disney expanded

and created Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

• The company also operated under the names The Walt Disney Studio,

then Walt Disney Productions.

*First quarter of fiscal year 2016 the company generated 12.97 billion U.S. dollars revenue.

*Disney has announced that they will build a new luxury hotel to open in 2021

*The movie “The Jungle book” crossed Rs.140 crore in box-office collections by its third week, released on about 1,640 screens in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu besides English.

*16 Indian brands integrated with the movie “ Finding Dori “ -the highest number of brand integrations that any animated movie has achieved in India. Few of those brands are Myntra, Bioworld, Trucare, Hamleys, Gingercrush, Firstcry, Colgate and Yakult.

*The DVD market has begun to mature over the last 2 years. Consumer spending on home videos dropped by about 2% in the past year.
