ABOUT US The UWL-SCC has been serving students, faculty and staff of UWL since 2004. Now we want to extend our services to include businesses, organizations, and individuals from the greater La Crosse area and neighboring communities. The Mathematics department at UW-La Crosse has 30 full-time faculty members with Ph.D., including six with Ph.D. in statistics:

n Data analysis and interpretation of data using statistical methods appropriate for your context.

n Creation of written reports and/or oral presentations of analysis results with a level of technicality geared to suit your needs.

n Construction of statistical models for interpolating, predicting, or assessing correlations between variables of interest.

n Design and reliability/validity testing of surveys.

n Assistance with study designs including guidance in choosing an appropriate sample size.

n Planning and conducting statistical training workshops tailored to meet the needs of your business or organization. Topics may include, but are not limited to: - Tools for making sense of large data sets - Introduction to statistical software (like SAS, SPSS,

or R). - Basic statistics - Statistical process control for manufacturing

n Our staff is fluent in selecting, applying, and interpreting a large array of statistical methods including ANOVA, ANCOVA, logistic regression, factor analysis, survival analysis, multivariate analysis, MCMC simulation, Bootstrapping, nonparametric methods, Bayesian methods, and more.

The Statistical Consulting Center (SCC) at UW-La Crosse aims to provide valuable and affordable

statistical services to businesses, organizations, and companies in the La Crosse, Wisconsin area.

The SCC not only hopes to benefit the local economy, but also to provide a helpful and meaningful

internship opportunity for statistics students at UW-La Crosse.
