documents– Complete “bubbles” for those students who do not have

a pre-id label• Accommodations– WDE is collecting a record of accommodations being

During Testing

• Report and Record ALL testing irregularities• Administer testing sections in order. [discuss

your testing schedule and order here..]• Each section must be completed before

moving on to the next section. Students make take a recess or lunch break between first draft and final draft, but this may not include an overnight break. The section must be finished on the day it is started.

• “Answering Questions about the Test” Please follow guidelines under the “You May” column– Remember: all test questions have been through bias

and content review with Wyoming teachers. The items on the test have been deemed to be grade level appropriate. Test administrators may not provide definitions to words in a test item or passage.

– Correction on Page 12: Test administrators may not read the test questions (prompts) to students unless it is in their IEP or 504 plan. (Next to last When Students Ask . . .)

Recommended Testing Times

• 90 minutes for total time (1st and final draft)• Allow your students to finish taking the test, but monitor

their progress and encourage them to keep going. • The legislature put a 90 minute limitation on the test

with the intent that it be completed within a short window of time.

• When students are no longer making meaningful progress, teachers should collect their testing materials.

• No student should spend an exorbitant amount of time on any test.

Allowable Resources – Word Walls

• Word walls that have been in use throughout the year are allowed to remain up for the test. A word wall is a systematically organized collection of words only, with no definitions, displayed in large letters on a wall or other large display area in the classroom. All other resources in the room must be taken down or covered up.

• Follow Specific Directions for the Writing Test for the appropriate grade band.

• Please read all of the test directions.• Do not leave students alone in a room while

testing. Test administrator must be in the room at all times

• Occasionally check student work to be sure they are writing on the correct paper (1st draft on scratch paper, final in test booklet)
