Happened Through the NightAt 9:00 0 'clock p.m. last night you called me inhere to dictate. As I came in I could see and feelthe heavenly powers here, such a brightness onyour countenance. I could feel the firesurrounding this room. You took the recorder andI could see already that you were into it. You laidyour chair back and your body started to jolt. Itjolted twice and then you were taken right away.At 9:10 p.m. you said, "What is going on here?What is happening? The heavenly powers aremarvelous. This is amazing." At 9:20 p.m. you

said, "Yes, it had to be done. It had to be done.Those men were deceiving the people. Oh, I amyearning after them that they will repent, that theywill humble themselves and take the directive Ihave given. "At 9:30 p.m. your body was trembling. Youwere sitting in your chair. You said, "Though allhell rage against me, though I stand alone, I willgo forward and do as the Lord directs. He ispressing upon me to do something. I am seeking

" ." dwill send me back to do more corrections. Thereare many men who do not hold Priesthood. Oh, itweighs on me so heavy. Why don't they comeconfessing. I am having to atone for all thispeople, for the Lord is very displeased with whathas had to happen this day, how the people haven'teven cared that the ordinance work has been takenaway, our meetings. They have not reachedfor thegreater light. They are nigh unto cursing. "

At 9:45 p.m. you said, "The Lord will yet revealmany things. I am seeking understanding ofwhatHe has shown me. I will yet witness many morethings as the Lord tells me to go forward. This isgoing to bring the world down upon us harder thanever. Let 's us stand faithful and true and notcompromise. "

You came to at 9:50 p.m. You said, "What isgoing on? What is happening?" Your body wasstill trembling. You were still in the chair. I told

you what had been happening. I think you weunconscious before I was finished.At 10:15p.m. your body trembled quiet severeand twisted around in the chair. You said, "Whwas that? What was that?" Then you said, "I avery concerned about Joseph 1. Barlow and DaBarlow. They seem so indifferent. If they tur

traitor they will become very bitter enemies. I aseeking after them that they will repent and comunto God w th full purpose ofheart. "At 10:30 p.m. you said, "When will this earrest? The corruption even among our people is sgreat." You trembled and said, "Oh, my. Oh, mWhat is happening? What am I doing? You said, "That is what we must dthere. We must establish that soon. The childrethere need good things for them. The Lord wanestablished at R17 a small dairy. The children cahelp take care of he animals and also get raw miinstead of his boughten pasturized milk that w

harm them. As we get more people there, the Lorwants a dairy established. LeRoy Steed will becharge of t and help get it going. "You said, "I have got to get to R17 befoMaryanne starts into labor and be there for ainfluence, that Sally will be guided and those whattend her andassist will be inspired, that they wknow what to do. At 11:40 p.m. you said, "Okay, okay. The Lordwants us to start looking into things that we canstart making ofour own make. We need more land,especially to grow cotton on. 1 need a mattressactory, a shoe factory, cotton processing [plant},a weaving unit to make material. It is marveloushow the Lord is wanting us to become veryself-sufficient so we won't have to rely on thegentiles. "

At 11:45p.m. you said, "Oh, this is weighing soheavy upon my mind, so heavy. Yet, I rejoice to dothe Lord's will, whatever it takes." There is such aire flowingfrom you, such a powerful eeling. Yousaid that Kate and Velvet will be involved inhelping with the mattresses, learning how to dothat. You said that as time goes by and we becomemore self-sufficient the Lord will show us newways of doing things, a new energy source, allthings will fall into their place, but it will only beafter we have cleaned up our lives andprepared.You said, "As the people get established at R17, wehave a work to do to convert and bless an d trainthe children. "

You said that after you finished these threehomes at R17 and at R23, you would need a placeto stay there, that you would go and visit thatplace. Youjust needed a very small place, none ofyour family would be in that location, but youwould go there to train qnd teach the sajnts VOllsaid, "I will be bringing some of he Canadian meninto this project. Spencer Blackmore will bebrought in and also his brother MacRae." Yousaid you would be calling them as laborers andthat the Canadians would be located, those whosurvived, in the South Dakota area, at R23, thatthey would continue their log home making there.

At midnight you said, "What is happening?What is going on?" You sat up on your elbows.You said, "Did you report to me?" I said, "Istarted to, but you went unconscious." You said,"Yes." You laid back down andyousaid, "WhydoIfeel so hammered. Why do Ifeel so beat up?"

At 12:15 a.m. you sat up again and said, "Areyou going to report?" I said, "Yes." You said,"Start all over, I didn't hear anything you said. "Right then your body started tojolt again. You laiddownandsaid, "Whatisit? Whatisit?" Thenyouwere taken right away again. You were quiet fo r

about a half hour, like you were being shownsomething. At 12:50 a.m. you said, "Oh my. Ohmy. The driving is going to be so terrible. Thepersecution of his people who will yet prepare. Itmakes my heart bleed to see the description theProphet Joseph described, even among ourpeople, those who are falling away, mother will beagainst daughter and father against son. It is tooterrible. It is too terrible. "

You said, "I need to get a hold ofLehiJeffs. Heis seeking to know what to do. He is a very sweethumble man an d he will take charge ofhisfather'sfamily for now. I am yearning after that family,that they will not turn traitor, that they will repentandhumble themselves, that Davidwill repent. Heis not worthy to receive his family back, andyet heneeds some care. He is not able to move around. Iam seeking unto the Lord to know what to do fo rhim. These Barlow men, I am yearning that theywill humble themselves and repent andnot becomeenemies. It is a shame upon this people whathappened yesterday. The Lord is very displeased.He will yet intervene in behalfof he faithful, thosewho will turn unto Him willfullpurpose ofheart. "

At 1:20 a.m. you said, "The Lord is revealingmany things to me, the hearts ofmany men. I mustbe careful with so many men. The Lord is verydispleased how fast word gets out to the apostatesand the world. "

You said, "The Lord will be sending me back toShort Creek sometime next week after we meet ourdeadline. He wants the walls to the storehousebuilding completely erected and the roofon by the25th of anuary. The other logs to the other homesneed to be there and started to be erected." Yousaid you needed to talk to James Dockstader andbring him on and also these two Canadian men.

You laid back down and said, "I'm ready. I'mready for whatever it takes. "At 1 50 a.m. you said, "I have got to get theplanting going at R17, the farming started andfollow the directive of he Lord. The walls to theother two homes will need to be completelyerected, the roofs on by February 15th, the

deadline for the storehouse building to becompleted is February 10th. We must push harder.If we get finished before, the Lord will be verypleased. He has given us a deadline. It doesn'tmean we have to wait until then. We can push andbe done before. "

You said, "There is just hardly any time, anytime left. I keep thinking ofApril. The Lord keepsbringing April 6th to mind. The judgments will bespread upon this land. They have already startedat the House ofGod. There has been a judgmentupon this people since August 10th . This peopledon't even realize how serious it is, how the Lord isso displeased with their actions of treating Himand the Priesthood so lightly. "

You said, "I need to be in contact with EdmundBarlow, get him to draw up the plans that the Lordwants built at R17, this larger home. TheCanadians need to hasten and get these log homesdone faster than they are going. I need all of hosebe com leted. There will be atotal o f twenty-five homes built there, hope u ybefore things become too great. The Lord willexpand the crew. Some will go to 23 and some willnot. Some will stay at 17 to continue the laborthere. These decks around this home, this placeneed to be finished up and the crew moved to R17very soon. "

You said you would be calling Leroy Jessopinto the labor soon, and also Richard SamuelJessop. You said that you would also be callingBrian Jessop. You would see how he passes thistest of hese men being handled. A calling is a gift. The Spirit ofour calling is a gift.And receiving the Spirit ofour calling, we are stillrequired of the Lord to reach for guidance,revelation, strength to use the Spirit of our callingto accomplish His purposes. So there is never atime we stop reaching, never a time we stop beinghumble. We are always in need of our HeavenlyFather's strength.I pray the Lord to be with us, as He hasappointed this meeting, a small community ofsaints on this sacred land gathered for a specialpurpose, which only can be accomplished by thegifts ofGod through His Spirit. Being here can bea joy and a thrill, a feeling of peace and security.But realize being here places a great responsibilityupon each one ofus. The Lord is through with thehalfhearted. He is through with people receivingthe training and just setting it aside and doing their

own will. So I trust you are gathered here reachingfor the Spirit of your calling, reaching for thetraining of how to use that power of the HolySpirit.A community of saints becomes one throughone purpose -- to please God and become like Him.And on this place of refuge, the Lord has a certainmission that He wants performed. Everyone ofusare part of that one mission. So may we open upour hearts today, and through our faith receive the

training the Lord wants to give requjred toaccomplish the mission we have been given.We will be privileged to have the sacramenttoday. [Sacrament Administered]We begin a meeting or Sunday School with theholy sacrament focuses our faith, our minds on ourLord and Savior. And I witness to you He is theOne Man leading this Priesthood work today, and

we are all His servants here to do His will, the willof the Father through Him.

President Wendell Nielsen: I stand before youin weakness and in humility and in rejoicingenormously, and seek that Heavenly Father willguide the words that I say, for I do have atestimony ofwhat is taking place. As we listenedyesterday to Uncle Warren make the correctionsand adjustments and teachings, I don't think I everfelt a greater power in meeting than I didyesterdaymorning as we sit here. And I was wonderfullyamazed at how Uncle Warren made thatcorrection, how Heavenly Father made thatcorrection through Uncle Warren, and as it wasdone it was like standing with outstretched arms,and through a great degree of love, giving everyperson the opportunity to repent, be restored asmuch as possible; and I witnessed to a degreeHeavenly Father's Spirit and power. And it wasmarvelous to see how loving and kind HeavenlyFather made that correction, and it was marvelousto see Uncle Warren follow the guidelines ofHeavenly Father's Spirit so perfectly.

I have come to witness in our Prophet UncleWarren, that he has acquired and obtained thatgreat sought-after skill and ability of where helives, he talks, acts by revelation. We all see this,and we all know it. To me, as Iobserve him and amwith biw; ~ U l (;1'11,' EpfJlke h8 " 8 ' ; ' ~ " sa,s a Mm ithat doesn't have that low of evelation guiding it.And I marvel so to see that it can be done. !JUncleWarren can live by revelation, we can, too, ifHeavenly Father will help us.

I rejoice so much to be here with you people onthis place of refuge. I am constantly wonderinghow undeserving I am and why is it me that is sohonored, so blessed to be able to associate withUncle Warren, Uncle Fred, with you here on thisvery sacred place, this place that has a very, verygreat purpose and accomplishment. And I can seethat our lives here need to follow in stride withUncle Warren's teachings. I can see that the Lordis ready and willing to begin our training to bringus to a level ofpreparation where we can be taughthow to come into Heavenly Father's presence, thisoffered gift from Heavenly Father. And I wouldsuppose that no one would enjoy this more thanHeavenly Father. I would think that He would beso anxiousfor us to qualify through His teaching to

us, through our Prophet, to come into Hispresence.And so we are talking about things now,brothers and sisters, that were the dreams and thegoals and the hopes and aspirations ofall of theProphets. I remember -- infact I read this morningUncle Roy saying, "One of hese days there will bea people brought forth that will be tutored andtrained in how to redeem Zion, " about thirty yearsago. And the Prophets in those days, they talkedand yearned ofa Zion, a redemption ofZion thatwas to come. And when we read Uncle Roy'ssermons today and sing songs about Zion, listen tothe sermons, we are there. We are in that trainingtoday. Imagine that, that all of these hopes anddreams, we today are now being trained how tobring about Zion. This is so marvelous. ForHeavenly Father to offer this to us is so marvelous.I just yearn for other people to yearn for Zionwith all of heir hearts. I would like to see all thehonest in heart, all the wholehearted have a part inthis. I can see that Heavenly Father, in offering usthis great blessing, is offering it to not only menand Priesthood bearers, but to wives and children.I can see that He wants to be in the presence ofacommunity of saints, not just Priesthood bearers.So the offered blessing is to everyone, and isn'tthat marvelous? I can see for this great

accomplishment to take place, the adVersary IS andwill rage until he has exhausted all ofhis capacityand is bound. I can see to accomplish this, it isgoing to take a great Prophet. And today we havethat very Prophet. I marvel at how great UncleWarren is. In my eyes -- I am sure you do also -- Imarvel at how great he is and wonder and imaginehow great he must be in Heavenly Father's eyes.I have come to know that there is a closenessbetween the Prophets and the Savior that we

haven' t been aware of, and that I know that we willbe guided by our Savior, our Lord, through UncleWarren. We have everything in the world to lookforward to. I can see that this will take great faithon the people, great faith to accomplish this. Butwe can do it. We wouldn't have been called here ifwe couldn't have done it. So we can accomplishand achieve that faith of he brother ofJared. Wecan do it. But we are in a time now where nolonger can we come to meetings and beentertained, and go home and say, "That was sure

a wonderful meeting, " and then not particularldo anything about it. I feel like I want to go homfrom every teaching, every training, every meetinjust charged with knowledge and wisdom anunderstanding in how to improve and how tincrease. I want to do that by the moment, by thday. I don't want to let this fail. I want to do athat I can andpledge my support, Heavenly Fathebeing my Helper, to be a strength and a help tUncle Warren as he accomplishes HeavenlFather's will. I know what he is telling us is trueThe Spirit bears witness to me. And there arblessings waiting for us, if we will reach anqualify, that we are not acquainted with. It will bso enormous, such great blessings that are so closto us.

So dear brothers and sisters, let us show thLord in Uncle Roy's words, that "we meabusiness". And let us show Uncle Warren that ware his people, that he can count on us. We wonneed to be concerned about revelation. It iflowing so fast to us now that it is justhard to grasit. There is so much knowledge and wisdom in threvelations we are receiving -- so much, that wneed to learn how to comprehend with HeavenlFather's Spirit increasing in us. So I want all of you to know that I am shonored and rejoice so exceedingly. And I want tlet all the world and everything in the past, I wanto let it go and only look forward. So to speak, burned my bridges behind me. There is only ondirection to go. We can do it, and let us do it. Whave Uncle Warren representing God to us; flowof revelation to guide us every step is alreadhappening. We have Uncle Fred, who has livewith so many of he Prophets, knows so many of hProphets personally, with us and a great supporto Uncle Warren. We have Heavenly FatherSpirit. We have a dedicated land. Everything is iplace for us to qualify. Let us reach out througthat fervent prayer and plead with HeavenlFather to help us qualify, that we can obtain thosoffered gifts that are so great. It will bring so mucjoy and love and happiness.

I am so anxious to hear from Uncle Warrentoday, perhaps Uncle Fred, others. I feel like Iwant to listen and learn now. May God bless us aswe live here on this sacred land. He is blessing us.May He continue to preserve us here. May we liveand help Him accomplish His purposes throughour Prophet. We are living in a great time, a greatday. Prophets, the Lord, and Uncle Warren wantZion redeemed, and we do, too. So let us go afterit. Let us be encouraged. Let us be enlivened. Letus exercise those qualities and characteristics thatwe have been taught, love God with all of ourheart; show that love in loving and serving oneanother. President Fred M. Jessop: I declare to you,Brother Warren, our holy Prophet, that I want tostand for you. I feel like, in a way, like it is UncleRulon. I pray or the Spirit of he Lord to enter intomy mind and take charge ofwhat I say andfeel. Iknow that I am the weakest among you, and Iconfess my sins and shortcomings before you andbefore the Lord. And I am so grateful that ourHeavenly Father has whispered to our holyProphet to call me and these dear ladies to thisplace of refuge for the advanced training that weare to receive jn QUf march tpJdJqrd th e cen ter stqbof Zion, and the perfection of our lives and thepeople's to go to the holy city.

I pray in my heart for all the honest in heart athome, that they will be touched by the greatkindness that the Lord manifested to the people. Itwas the most marvelous thing I had everanticipated or heard. I love Uncle Warren. I amdedicated to do what he said, what he says, thesame as I was in the days of Uncle Rulon. Andthose memories linger in my mind so sweet andwonderful that I can hardly explain howwonderfully well I feel about this work and thiscalling.

It was such a marvel to me that the Lord's holyProphet, being the most wanted man, stood therein broad daylight and delivered the word of theLord. Talk about the judgments and the greathappenings on earth. That is some of it. I sorejoice, I say to our holy Prophet, dear BrotherWarren. I know he is far above and yet so close

and so worthy and capable to be loved. I see thathe has faith equal to knowledge, and that is what Iknow it has got to take in all ofus.I was so thanliful for the calling and for thegathering here and for the accommodations, forthe wonderful work of training that we are in, inthis great Order. Ifeel meek. Ifeel humble about

being here. I rejoice and pledge my support, everyfiber ofmy being, to be in support of the Lord'sholy Prophet. Anddid he not say that Jesus Christaccomplished His work, some of t yesterday. Andtoday it is going on. And I humbly pray that thehonest in heart will see how they can bow downand divest themselves of ealousy and start anew -nothing to lose, everything to gain.Heavenly Father, I ask you to continue yourmercies upon us, upon these lovely ladies, and all

you folks that are gathered here, and those thatwill gather here, that this work can go on. I realizethat great spirits, that powerful Priesthood ofGodin the heavens and on earth is over this place ofrefuge, and the doings ofour holy Prophet in thisday. Please, dear Brother Warren, BrotherWendell, and you other men and women here,accept my feeble expression of my love anddevotion, according to the powers and blessingsthat are in me, give my wholehearted support tothis great work.

I am so thanliful for the turns in my life to standso faithfully, so humbly before the Lord's trustedservants. I trust the Lord will convey to yourhearts, dear people, what I am trying to say andwhat I mean, which I do humbly in the name of heLord Jesus Christ, amen.President Warren S. Jeffs: I am so grateful tomeet with you here on what I consider a sacredoccasion, in a General Meeting, a CottageMeeting; and I remember the Lord's promise that

when two or more ofyou are gathered in His name,He will be here. I am here to do the will of myfather, and thus Heavenly Father. I rejoice totestify to you that the Lord has spoken from theheavens and declared that Zion will be redeemedin this generation, in our time, and there will be apeople gathered from among this Priesthoodpeople who will be instruments to help accomplishthat work. Many are called, says the scripture, butfew are chosen. And in this next step of the

redemptionofZion, the Lord is doing the choosingHimself. And every person called on this missionis expected to be a chosen vessel ofGod filled withthe Holy Spirit of God.

In the past, we were thrilled at going to meetingto see this man or that Prophet. We now need tostep up and consider that at every meeting or anymeeting, the Lord will be here, or the Prophets.And though at first you may not see Him or themwith your physical eyes, you are to have the faiththat you will feel their presence. Draw from theheavens the heavenly messengers and therevelations ofGod. It is easy for the Lord to guidethe Prophet's mind right in your presence anddeclare revelation upon revelation, truths that youhaven't considered before, blessings you are calledupon to reach for. We need to consider that now,on this place of refuge dedicated to the Lord, thatwe are living where God and the angels dwell onearth. They are watching us. This is His project.

We have had a lot ofexperience as the Lord hasgradually revealed His will. Many have come tothis particular piece of land and then been sentelsewhere to develop the faith required to helpredeem Zion. And your presence on this land isevidence that the Lord expects you to exert a faithequal to knowledge, that when He says, "Here is ablessing we need to desire after," we believe withsuch confidence and nrmness tlIat i t wilt actaaU,happen -- no doubt, no question in our minds.

Moving to these places of refuge, we find thatthe Lord gives us a work, a physical work todevelop our faith. It would be easy to send legionsof angels, the greater knowledge of technology,skills, energy systems, woodwork, where theycould erect a city very quickly where God wouldbe pleased with the architecture and the way thingsare constructed. But what the Lord wants in thisgreat redemption of Zion is a people, not just aphysical place. And He will beautify the physicalsurroundings through our labors and Him givingthe increase.

We are offered such great blessings here. Itremble for Zion lest we treat this lightly. Thismust not fail. You must not fail. Success must bein your mind and a reaching to know how to dobetter to please your Heavenly Father.

I suppose ifyou knew of a certain date and timthat the Lord would be present at a specific plafor a meeting, you would be excited and thrilland anxious to prepare. What is to stop Him frobeing at this meeting and we having the faith receive that blessing? The blessing of God's owpresence and the knowledge of God is not faway. We now sit in the confines of this home. Itmarvelous how this all came about. I was sent Canada to hold a Conference, and one eveninwhile I was there, the Lord showed me we were acquire these log houses for the purpose to erethem quickly, as our time is very short. Laborewere called. It all came together. The Lord chowhat should be here. I asked Him where to pthese homes. He chose the locations. The laborehave been through a training to learn to not dthings their own way, but to inquire and be led.

The Lord wants this great work projectbuilding Zion to continue for the purposebuilding men and women and children in thecharacter who will be directable, teachable, readto respond to whatever the Lord says to do. Anthrough the Spirit of God dwelling in each persoin Zion. heaven is magnified on earth. The Lord has guided this project to give daigoals. He has led us to lands that need conquerinthrough conquering ourselves. We need blessinon this place of refuge right now. In front of thhouse you see a little stake painted orange. Thatthe exact spot the Lord has named that water wcome forth if we will have the faith. He wants bless us, but will only do so as we have the faithAnd from this water source, other homes can bsupplied, because in the future He wants othbuildings built on this land.

You see the forests around here, and yomarvel, "Why are we here?" Yet the Lord hrevealed that on this location or nearby will comthe timber to do the woodwork for the temple Zion. And He will reveal the architecture of tfurniture and the furnishings ofthat temple. Ea

location of refuge will have a special purpose tosupply the needs for Zion in food and clothing andmaterials for housing and the temples. He hasshown me that we will need to make our ownmaterials for building soon, and we are to applyunto Him in faith, through the revelations, how todo the architecture as well as bring forth thebuilding materials, make our own cement, bricks,so on.

At the place of refuge we call R17 -- it justhappens to be about seventeen hours from ShortCreek -- the Lord has revealed what He wants doneon that land. And He showed me and us thateverything ofBabylon must be removed from thatland. Anything the previous owner placed on thatland has to be hauled away. This is an example ofwhat must happen in our characters for you todwell in Zion and on these places of refuge todevelop and build Zion. You must erase and castoff every particle ofBabylon, and be so teachable,so directable, that you will even be anxious to betaught how to talk right, what clothing is approvedof God, what we should have in our houses, andeven what would please Him in the foods that weshould eat, where He would extend our lives andincrease our health and strength. Zion involveseverything, not just what we choose to let the Lordguide us in. And as we love to obey, the blessingswill flow forth, the knowledge of God will comeo ,0 were we WI marve t at we ever earedor doubted or hesitated; for Zion is the happiestplace on earth, heaven-sent.

We have read to you from Section 58 that Zionwould be redeemed through much tribulation.And the reward of those who are faithful throughtribulation is greater than if you do not have thoseexperiences. I will read a few words ofUncle Roy,who you know was and is Zion, heaven on earthand eternal in the heavens now.LSJ 4:1349 M arch 6, 1977 Colorado City, ArizonaThis Gospel means more to us -- it meansmore to us than to keep on going alongtreating lightly the things we receive. Andone of the greatest things among us that istreated lightly is this loving one another. Yousay, "Oh, I love my brother. There isn't aman among us that I don't love. But he hassome ways that I don't like." So, he allowshimself o criticize right on the moment. Ifheloved his neighbor, he would never let that

thought enter his mind. Same w0' with awoman. One of he greatest obstacles I havehad to cope with was this very thought in theminds of my own people. But how have Ifought it? By practicing what I preach in myown home. ***Then Uncle Roy tells the story ofhis testimonyincreasing ofBrother Barlow.

One time, when I first met PresidentBarlow, I wanted to know whether he was theproper man to direct me or not. You knowwhat the Lord showed me? He gave me alittle dream. I don't tell my dreams veryoften, but this is a good illustration.This is the dream:

A nephew of mine came to me, and hesays, "Uncle Roy, I want to talk to you." Isaid, "Louis, I have a call to go see afriend ofmine. Ifyou would like to go along with me,you are welcome. " He says, "Okay, I want togo with you. " So, we walked down the road alittle way, and we came to a bodyofwater -- agreat body ofwater. I said, "I have to crossthis water." He said, "We can 't go acrossthat. "

Uncle Roy answered:"We can. We can cross it ifwe want to, " I

said. So, we waded out in the stream --than gone into the stream until it turned into atorrent ofrunning water.

And the Prophet Joseph Smith said in dreamsrushing waters means tests and trials. He, thenephew, said:He s0's, "Let's go back! Let's go back!""There is no turning back, " I said, "Let's go

ahead." He says, "Well, if you can go, Ican. " Andhefollowedme. Every little while,he would holler, "Let's go back!" I said,"There is no going back now, we are too farin. Let's keep going. " So, we kept going, andpretty soon we saw a big building. I said,"That's where I want to go, to that building. "Then the water smoothed out, and we hadsmooth sailing. We swam to the building,walked out of the water, and stood there amoment. Louis says, "What's the matter, myclothes aren't even wet," I said, "No, theyare all right. Let 's go inside. "

So, we went inside and it was filled withwomen. Aunt Susie was there and some ofmyfolks. They were going about hurrying to getlunch ready. Aunt Susie said, "BrotherBarlow and two honorable men of the earthwent up this canyon right here." I said, "I'llgo up and meet him. " So, we started out. Wewent out, and we saw a little stream ofwater.I thought we could jump across that easyenough. So, we jumped, but when we lit, weli t in the middle ofa terrifically swi ft stream.It took my eet out rom under me. This boy -I looked back and I couldn't see him anymore-- gone. I said, "Well, I am going to go onanyhow." So, I went on across the river andup the canyon.

I caught up with Brother Barlow andthese two men. He introduced me to the men.He said, "I guess our meal will be ready bythe time we get home, so we will go on back. "On our way back, we came to a real muddystream. I never saw a more muddy streamthan that one was. (And I have seen thempretty muddy when a bank would fall off ntothe Paria Creek; I have seen it just float off,the water was so muddy.) But that water wasrunning, and right up at the head of thismuddy stream was a clear spring of water.Brother Barlow said, "How did you getthrough this muddy stream?" I said, "I wentaround to the head of it." He says, "Go inthat 1zttle buddmg mere and wash and youwill be clean. Then you can go with us. " So, Iwent in and took a bath and came out. And Iwoke up.

To some people, this might not meananything, but it did to me. It meant a lot tome. It answered my prayer this way: I hadasked the Lord or a testimony as to whether Ishouldfollow Brother Barlow or not, an d theonly way I could get to where Brother Barlowwas, was to go through tribulation -- greattribulation to get there. And I am still goingthrough tribulation. ***

Then he tells of the Raids and so on that theywent through.Joseph Smith was a prophet ofGod. And

those men that led the Church after JosephSmith passed were prophets of God, andwhen the Church signed away their rights tothe Priesthood, the Lord had a way preparedto carry on. And we are still carrying it on,We are still going down the road. This

Gospel of he Kingdom has got to be lived inits purity. That is the reason that John, theRevelator, is out there with the ten tribes. Heis out there training them *** in the art ofwar. Do you think they are going to comeback here an d fight for a people they knownothing about? They know all about us,because they have a man out there teachingthem that knows all about what is going onhere.

We have three other men working for us.They are working among their own people;and we don't know anything about what theyare doing, because the Lord hasn't revealedit to us. But we do know this: The Lord hassaid, "I willprotect my saints if have to sendfire from heaven to do so." An d what is asaint? A saint is a man or a woman who hasapplied to his or her hie the principles o fsalvation.

The Lord keeps impressing me to read to thgroup of people from Section 67.D.& C. 6710. And again, verily I say unto you that it

is your privilege, and a promise I give untoyou that have been ordained unto thisministry, that inasmuch as you stripyourselves from jealousies and fears, andhumble yourselves before me, for ye are notslIlPcientlJ' bumble thg veil shqll be rent andyou shall see me and know that I am -- notwith the carnal neither natural mind, bu t withthe spiritual.

11. For no man has seen God at any timein the flesh, except quickened by the Spirit ofGod.

Our work is to search our characters, our mindsand hearts, and strip ourselves and cast off fromourselves jealousies and fears by humblingourselves. No unclean thing can stand in thepresence of God. Are you clean every whit? Youshould be seeking that revelation that the Lord hasdeclared you clean every whit from this wickedgeneration. Draw that knowledge from theheavens through your faith and your sweetobedience. Don't just be here doing a physicalwork, just having a physical habitation to dwell in.We are here to accomplish the purposes of God.And on these places of refuge is where the peoplewill qualify for the presence ofGod.

I was only allowed to read part of the revelationof December 24 yesterday to the people. In theremainder of this revelation, the Lord names whatHe wants accomplished here. After the versewhere the Lord said He would send me to makethis correction of these and other men, the Lorddeclared this:

By preserving the saints, by sending judgmentsupon the wicked,20. . .will I preserve the faithful of my

people.This is our mission, brothers and sisters. Youare here to build and redeem Zion within yourselfand draw from the heavens, through yourpreparation and qualification, the earthly blessingswe need as well as the heavenly knowledge andvisitations and revelations.

21. Let the First Presidency ofmy churchbe one, and believe the revelations ofmy willI send to you through my servant, and upholdhim through the prayer of faith; and beprepared to assist in the fulness of theredemption ofZion.

4. And you, in oneness with my servant,Warren, and the First Presidency of mychurch, are called to help establish Zion in itsfulness.

This is what every one of you must earn fromyour Heavenly Father -- the revelation that you areclean and pure, free from the blood and sins ofthiswicked generation, and thereby able to stand in thepresence of God. The Lord is wanting the work to be done here.He has a work for the First Presidency to do on thisland, and He is awaiting for this construction to becompleted. I am grateful for you brethren beinghere. Press forward. The Lord is adding to youstrength, intelligence, wisdom, knowledge, andunderstanding. You want to be approved of Godby fulfilling every labor.For the family members dwelling in thesehouses, He wants us to make our homes a temple,especially this house -- our earthly body, ourtabernacle. We are now to begin trainings. Andmore especially as I am here, I will voice to youwhat the Lord wants us to do to earn greaterblessings. We have appointed some training timesfor the families. 14. Let your hearts be comfortedconcerning your family members who are notwith you at this place; and according to yourfaith and their continued faithfulness I shallbe with them, and comfort them.

15. Blessed are ye, the First Presidencyofmy church, for the sacrifices you have madeand that I shall ye t require ofyou.16. My peace be upon you, and I shall bewith you from on high, as you seek unto me in

perfect diligence of the love of the Fatherexercised in all things.

time ofhumbling ourselves more than ever beforBy the expression of love and humility does person overcome pride. Withholding thexpression and yearning is how you hold on your pride. Let the Holy Spirit guide you as yohumble yourselves.The Lord has been taking me through gretraining. This was the first place of refuge befowe had others sufficiently established, and the onplace I could bring the appointed family memberNow we have another place being established wihouses and facilities, and the Lord has had mremove from this land most of my family for thpurpose to only have those here on this land at thtime who will fulfill that revelation. He would nlet me read this to the family members until I haremoved most of my family. And now you havheard it and you are called to this mission. The Lord did not allow the laborers to stay here,because He revealed they had to go to anotherplace to develop the faith of the brother of Jaredthrough hard labor with rejoicing. So I give theLord's message to the family members of the FirstPresidency in this place of refuge today. Qualify.Seek the gifts and blessings of the Spirit ofGod tochange your nature and become pure and cleanevery whit. It is the word of the Lord to us. Thiswasn't given to a lot of people out there. It wasgiven to the people in this room.

Now you must realize that every house heremust become a temple where only the Spirit ofGod, and no other spirit, dwells. Everyone ofyouare needed to keep a home a temple, dedicated.We have to get down to the details. We have toexamine our train of thought, our feelings, ourdesires. We are being examined by the Lord andthose He sends. And you have been called that youay become chosen. This is a great weight upone, and upon these, my faithful brethren. We areseeking to do as the Prophet Joseph declared:TPJSPage 19You will see

Said the Prophet Joseph,... that the Lord commanded us, in

Kirtland, to build a house of God, andestablish a schoolfor the Prophets, this is theword of he Lord to us,You just heard in this revelation that the Firstbe meeting often, and the families

f the First Presidency will be meeting together,nd as separate families, often.... and we must, yea, the Lord helping us,we will obey: as on conditions of ourobedience He has promised us great things;yea, even a visit from the heavens to honor uswith His own presence. We greatly fearbefore the Lord lest we should fail of thisgreat honor, which our Master proposes tocorifer on us; we are seekingfor humility andgreat faith lest we be ashamed in Hispresence.

Don't despair over the families members whoth us here yet. The Lord will take care ofYou are called upon to succeed with us, and

have been given. It is a mission beyond measure.How can a small person such as I qualify, and yetthe call is made. I need your faith and prayers. Weneed your faith and prayers. We need oneness inour families. Do you even believe you can come inthe presence ofGod tonight, tomorrow, next week- whenever He should appoint? Or is thissomething so far ahead in the next life that you arenot reaching for it?

I have recommended certain times the familiesmeet. And as I am gone at times, I have instructedthe ladies that live here to go to Uncle Wendell'sand Uncle Fred's at their class times and continuethe daily training.Now a few instructions concerning sacredevents, and even the event where we could oftencome into the presence of the Lord or the ProphetsHe sends. Desire the Lord's will and be satisfied ifthere is a meeting called where just one or twoindividuals to be present, or a certain family.Don't be distressed ifyou are not in every trainingsession and every meeting. And if there is ameeting going on - for instance, where the FirstPresidency are gathered - feel the Holy Spiritthere. Be a strength. Add your faith, and do all youcan to not bring disturbance to that place. Learn tohave your expressions more humble, and not loudand boisterous. Learn to make your movements

I now left David and Oliver, and went inpursuit o fMartin Harris, whom I found at aconsiderable distance, fervently engaged inprayer. He soon told me, however, that hehad not yet prevailed with the Lord, andearnestly requested me to join him in prayer,that he also might realize the same blessingswhich we had just received. We accordinglyjoined in prayer, and ultimately obtained ourdesires, for before we had yet finished, thesame vision was opened to our view, at leastit was again opened to me, and I once morebeheld and heard the same things; whilst atthe same moment, Martin Harris cried out,BWlire14t')' in an eCs'as)) ,,('"ay (( 'Tis enough,'tis enough; mine eyes have beheld; mineeyes have beheld,'" and jumping up, heshouted, "Hosanna, " blessing God, andotherwise rejoiced exceedingly.

Why didn't the blessing come when all fouwere together? I t was because there was just onof them with a doubt about the mission they wersent to perform. I explain this to you to show yothat every one of you are needed to succeed herfor the Lord will only come among a people whwill honor Him, receive His word, do His will.Now some training concerning manifestationfrom heaven. Be ye warned, that where this giand blessing ofthe presence ofGod is offered to aindividual or a people, the devil will try to thruupon us, and you can expect tests you havenwitnessed before. So I give you this counsel witgreat emphasis that you may be safe fromdeception and error. Remember that the prayer ofaith is the prayer that is according to the Lord

will. Wait on the Lord as far as manifestations.You have received the revelation. You see youhave a mission of preparation. But the actualpresence of God or angels or these marvelousmanifestations will come through Priesthood, notthrough you demanding it on your own. The Lordwill tell me, "This is what we should pray fornow," and He will grant the blessing according toour faith. And having that directive that a certainmanifestation or revelation or ordinance will berevealed, centering our faith in one on what theLord wants at that moment to be accomplished,you will be on safe ground. But as sure as you stepforth and want more than what the Lord wants us tohave at that time, the devil can intervene and bringa deception upon us. And anyone who is deceivedwould have to be cast out. This is just too great awork for us to go it alone. We must become oneand stay close. And all ofyou need to stay close tome, lest you be deceived.

We have yearned for Zion. You were called ona mission here to establish Zion in its fullness andearn, in the Lord's time, His appointment, His ownpresence and the knowledge of God. You knowGod when you touch Him and see Him with youreyes, and hear Him with your ears. That is perfectknowledge. But there also is the knowledge ofGod called revelation, and it is a feeling. Allknowledge is a feeling, a burning of the Spirit of('}od wnrttn. And I I I me presence of God or theangels, there is an all-consuming fire,unmistakable. It is a surety. If the devil appearedas the angel oflight, the light might be present, butthere is an absence of that all-consuming fire.

So before you would ever be allowed to seeGod with your eyes, your spirit eyes, you may beallowed to feel His presence through theall-consuming fire from heaven. And perhapscertain individuals will see things, and certainindividuals see other things, according to theirfaith. You are going to go through a study ofwhathappened in the Kirtland Temple, thatmanifestations came individually, with theProphet present or nearby, appointed ofGod that itshould happen. But we see an example in thisstory ofDavid Whitmer. He wanted more withoutthe Prophet. And we learn that the devil appearedas an angel of light to that man and called JosephSmith a fallen Prophet, and that man fell away. He

wanted more. He had heard the voice ofGod, hadmanifestations. He knew God lived. But hewanted more, separate from authority, and he wasled astray.If ! were not with you, you would be deceived. Isay that in all humility, knowing it is the Lorddoing it. And God, meeting Him face to face, will

be introduced to you by one in authority You arenot the only ones that know of this. The veryheavenly hosts know what is happening here, andthe hosts of hell know what is happening here.This is serious, and we need to be sober andhumble, and go about this preparation.F or a time here the Lord is having me travel,and I am not right here with you all the time. Therewill come a time where the Lord will have me beright here, and we will hold meeting after meeting,trainings, seek certain blessings and revelationsthrough our faith, and it will be a time of rejoicingthat will thrill your heart ifyou will do it right.Now once again, the training on keepingconfidences. Don't ask to know what everyoneknows. For instance, if the First Presidency werepresent and you were favored to hear the voice ofan angel encourage you, you should not speak of itto any person except your Priesthood head or me.To boast in these things would cause you to losethe blessing. You boast by voicing it to someone

else, what you have expeftenced and what youknow. You should only bear testimony of thesethings as you are appointed to bear testimony. TheLord needs a people that He can reveal the secretsof heaven to and nobody else will find out, exceptby His appointment.

So suppose you are given a great blessing, atraining, an ordinance, a revelation by authorty.Keep it sacred and secret, and thereby will youearn greater knowledge and blessings from God,because you can keep the secrets of heaven.Salvation comes through revelation, andrevelation is the knowledge ofGod. We are savedthrough knowledge, coming to know Him bybecoming like Him.So our call is not to go to our houses and ask forGod to appear, or the angels to suddenly appear.Our mission right now is to go to our homes andhumble ourselves, seek to qualify ourselves, andbe individuals uniting in our families and as a

community here, where the Lord will honor uswith His word and will. It is not going to happenall at once. We are not just joining for one greatevent. It is going to be gradual, continual, and itwill increase until we fulfill the Lord's word.

The devil will now try to whisper hard. He willtry whisper unbelief and doubt whether you couldeven accomplish such a thing. Dismiss thosethoughts by expressing faith. Every thought, every feeling, everydesire will be important now. You are to disciplineyourselves to desire that one great thing - to learnthe will of God and do it.

You are seeking to have your mind single toGod, for His will to be done. And He will send meand say, "You family members, you brethren, thisis what we should pray for now. Here is a blessingwe need. Let us exert our faith, that He will bestowit upon us." We must not let our prayers becomegeneral, empty prayers. We must be inspired andfeel the heavenly strength increasing in us. As thisrevelation described, you will come to the pointwhere you feel the perfection of the heavenly joyalways flowing into you, a burning witness ofpeace.

Take these warnings, and beware oflight-mindedness and treating lightly this mission.

I love all of you with Heavenly Father 's love. love these brethren through the love of God. rejoice in them and in all of you. I rejoice iHeavenly Father for you. We are all learning. Ware all increasing and growing now.

I have asked many people who have come herstraight out, "Do you really believe that you coulcome into the presence of God, or do you evedesire it and think about it?" We are nocommanded to seek that blessing, in His time anway, by seeking the blessings that lead up to thagrand event.

The Prophet Joseph succeeded in bringing few people into the presence of God in the KirtlanTemple. And then the Lord declared by Septembe11, 1836, He wanted to have Zion redeemed. Buthe people turned to the world, its ways ancomforts, and they lost the blessing. And the Lorhas been waiting for a people to prepare since thtime. And even after having such great blessingas the knowledge of God bestowed upon you, yomust continue to be humble, for there is alwaygreater knowledge to receive. The increase oknowledge brings an appetite for the increase oknowledge. The increase ofthe love of God bringan appetite with it for the increase of the love oGod, and that is how you know you arprogressing.

And I again emphasize you should have a scribeat least writing a summary ofwhat was taught, theprogressionofyour training. When I am present, Imay call just the First Presidency, or just a certainfamily, or a certain individual with your husbandand give a training, as the Lord is revealing what isin our hearts and where we need to do better. It ismarvelous how interested the Lord our God, theCreator of heavens and earth, how interested He isin the details ofeach one ofour lives, what is in ourminds and hearts. You are being watched. You arenever alone. Live that way, as though God iswalking right next to you reading your thoughts,because He is. He is reading your thoughts. He isinterested in your success. And you need notdismiss yourself like an insignificant person thatcan' t make it. You are here to succeed in the Lordand through His power.So a School of the Prophets and Prophetesseshas just started here on this land, with the intention,the same goal that Joseph smith had in his day. Ashe started the School of the Prophets in Kirtland,Ohio, it was with this goal- to bring a people intothe presence of God. That is what a School of theProphets is for. And thus the training willcontinue. And as the Lord allows me to be here, Iwill bring you His word. 3:00 p.m. DictationI am on the road from R 1 to R 17. I left around1 30 p.m. or 1 45 p.m.After arriving in Short Creek Friday afternoon,

around 5:00 o'clock p.m. I was driven over toLeRoy Jeffs' house from David Allred's, not evergoing to the Jeffs's property now, as I am in deephiding. And there I used Isaac Jeffs and RichAllred to bring the people to me from father'shouse as they arrived at the gate. And thereperformed four marriages. In order was ElizabethWayman, formerly Elizabeth Wayman Rohbock,sealed to Jerold William, a member of the HighCouncil, for time and all eternity. Then the formerwife ofCraig Jessop, son ofScott, her name is JuliaJohnson, Ralph Johnson's daughter, sealed fortime and eternity to John Murdock Barlow, son ofAlvin Barlow. Then I called my uncle WilliamSteed, who the Lord is having me handle becausehe doesn't hold Priesthood, but because he is thelegal guardian ofthese girls, I asked his permissiont9 ~ l a Q i b.is two daughters in marriage, which hereadily agreed. I called their mothers, twin sistersthat were married to William Steed, and I got theirpermission and there was sealed, LuJean Steed,William Steed's daughter, to John Jessop, the sonofStanley Jessop. Then her sister, Christine Steed,daughter ofWilliam Steed, was sealed for eternityto Merril Shapley, the son ofBill Shapley.

I then called Garth Warner and asked if hisdaughter Lynette was ready to get married. I justyearned to know where she was to be placed. TheSpirit told me that if I would interview them, Iwould know, and that the girl herself would revealher heart. I already had impressions, but yearnedto know for certain of the Lord. I followed thedirective and interviewed them both. I heard hertestimony of Priesthood and the redemption ofZion and she used the words, she yearns to take thenext step of the redemption of Zion, which wasvery interesting to me, as we haven't voiced a lotabout the next step to the people. Then I said,

"Young lady I want to know the absolute trufrom the depths of your heart and mind, do yohave your heart set on anywhere to be placed?She strongly voiced she just wanted the Lordwill, but then said she had always desired to bwhere her sister Colleen was, which meant sealto me. Then I told her and her father that was mimpression and I called in LeRoy Jeffs and IsaJeffs. I delegated LeRoy Jeffs to perform that onmarriage. And so a fifth marriage was perform-- Lynette Warner to Warren Steed Jeffs for timand all eternity.

The Lord had not named her to me to come toplace of refuge. That was what was weighinheavy upon me, to get married and not be allowto bring the girl with me. I told her I had manappointments that night and to come see me aftthe Work Meeting tomorrow, at LeRoy's house, stay with her father tonight. And the next morninwhen they came with all her clothes, I explainethat I had to leave Short Creek right away and ginto hiding for a time and asked her to stay at hfather's house for awhile longer until I could comback and get her, which she willingly did. She isgirl with a strong testimony.

I then had an appointment with the Bishop, htwo counselors, Nathan Jessop and Lyle Jeffs, anmy brother LeRoy Jeffs, the Patriarch of thCNSS. RQ I ~ a v e them detailed training on thplaces of refuge and explained that the FirPresidency were going into hiding to be preserveand to perform this next step of the redemptionZion, and they received training on how to wowith the people and be my connection to the peopwithout revealing where I am and what I am doinwhich they received joyfully with determination uphold the Priesthood over them.

I then talked to Lyle Jeffs privately and told hithat the Lord had warned me about him, that hwas nearly rejected of God because he had beetoo forward with my father 's wives, that in all thyears that father had me right there with himamong his family I would never step forth and givthem a hug and be over friendly. I told hiinstances where he had done wrong, which he wso grateful for the correction and would be scareful from this time forth. So the Lord cleaning up this people on every hand. Lyle hacalled me about his young sixteen-year-old wife

should he wait until she is "of age" so-called,before he goes forward with her and has children?I told him he should live the law now. He didn'tget married to not live the law, and just be carefulwho knows about this connection. There are nounderage Priesthood marriages.I then talked to Brother William Edson Jessop,

our Bishop, privately, and went over many issues,house assignments, how to work with the people.He was anxious to be directed and I rejoice in thattruth. I again called upon him to strengthen thehands of the First Presidency in the redemption ofZion. I told him and his counselors that I would behandling those four men and others who don't holdPriesthood named in the revelation of December24. I then told him I needed to talk to Uncle Fred'sladies and we agreed to have Brother WilliamJessop bring Uncle Fred's ladies and William'sladies over to LeRoy Jeffs' house where I was andwe held a meeting, I estimate about an hour. Andin that message I taught them how to prepare forthe next step of the redemption of Zion and thatUncle Fred and the First Presidency were gone, notto come back.

They didn't want to leave, especially Susan, hiswife, and Martha, his wife, Uncle Fred's wife. ButI delivered my message. I showed them that I washere and we cared and I would be coming back atimes, but in hiding. They were trained on thedetails of keeping the first two commandments ofthe love of God to become Zion, and now theyhave become very fervent they declared. I taughtthem about keeping confidences, also, that if theycan't keep confidence, they can't be with UncleFred and I. William talked to me for ten minutesfter the ladies left. He is being very careful tomake sure he is doing exactly as he should.

I then told Isaac Jeffs, Rich Allred, and RoyAllred, the watchmen at the Jeffs' property tofulfill the scatter order. I had organized the ladiesin three groups to leave in three vans quickly andthis was a practice session so that they would knowhow to leave the property quickly before the policecame and raided the property. I paged bytelephone on the property and said, "Scatter" andthey went to their vans, vehicles, not knowingwhere they would be driven, but I had arranged themen to drive the ladies to where I was. Theyarrived around 11 :20 p.m. Saturday night, and this

was the first time all of these ladies, exceptColleen, had seen me in two months -- eightweeks. LeRoy 's ladies were just making me somedinner by then. I had Michelle come and lay on mylap and hug me while I ate dinner and she ate it tooand all the ladies sat there and starred at me while Iate.I gave training, encouragement on how to befervent and more determined in their preparationand the only ones holding them back werethemselves. They didn't want to leave. Theystayed there until 1 00 a.m. in the morning. FinallyI felt the heavenly session begin and I had to go. Ithink each lady hugged me three times before theywent. I am just yearning for them all. I am gratefulthey were able to see me before the Lord had me dothe correction Saturday.I returned to David Allred's house and retiredby 1 40 a.m. and immediately went into theheavenly session until 5:30 a.m. when the Lordwoke me up. I went through a severe time and alsothe continued revelations, visitations, dreams andvisions and sweet whisperings from the Lord. Isaw that I was to sit up on the stage in front of thepeople myself, alone, and that I was just to followthe whisperings of the Spirit of God, not knowingexactly what I would face; but the Lord had beenshowing me all week that this was His act of love

I arrived around 6:40 a.m. in the morning at themeeting house, walked up on the stand alone, andthen many people started coming up to shake myhand and greet me, among whom were the men Iwas to handle. Dan Barlow came up and shook myhand and I pulled him aside and said, "The Lord isgoing to have me give you a correction today . Youcan sit in the side room if you want or in theaudience as you desire." He chose to sit in theaudience. Joseph I. Barlow came up and shook myhand and I gave him the same message, that I wasgoing to correct him today, offering to him to sit ina side room to listen. He chose to sit in theaudience. Louis Barlow finally came in and Ivoiced the same to him, that the Lord was going tohave me correct him today, and he could sit in aside room, but he chose to sit in the audience. I

I told them to be sure to get atape for Nephi Barlow to listen to this meeting.I then, while sitting there, saw my brotherDavid. correct you today. You can sit in a side room ifyoudesire, or in the audience as you desire." He choseto sit in the audience. I walked back up and sat onmy chair on the stand and then I saw my brotherHyrum Jeffs. Then I walked down into theaudience again, giving the same message and hechose to stay in the audience.
