Statement from Robert Alaniz, spokesman for the office of Walsh &Associates:

The Councilmember is shocked and surprised by the claims in the lawsuit. Theclaims of illegal sexual behavior and other alleged allegations against him areabsolutely false and malicious. More importantly, Francine Godoys behaviortowards him both before and after these fabricated events will prove that they arenot credible.

The lawsuit fails to mention that Ms. Godoy and the Councilmember had anoccasional and consensual relationship, which the Councilmember deeplyregrets. He has apologized to his wife and family and he and his wife arecurrently working on repairing their marriage.

When the true facts come out it will reveal that Ms. Godoy is someone seeking to

damage the Councilmembers reputation because he would not help advance hercareer as she expected. In the meantime the Councilmember remains focused ondelivering top-notch services for the City of Los Angeles.

Due to the litigation we are unable to comment further on this issue at this time.
