February 2020

Dear Champion Life Family,

Praise God for what the Lord has done in our midst. We have witnessed the power of God and His grace throughout the year. Here are some of the great highlights of 2019.

CHURCH ANNIVERSARIES It was a joy to visit several of our Centres who celebrated their milestone anniversaries as they continued to grow and reach their communities – Calgary (10 years), Durham (1 year).

NEW CHURCH PLANT Last year Champion Life Centre advanced the Kingdom of God through another church plant in the Exeter region which was birthed from our London Centre. A core team led by Joseph and Loly Lozano launched the church in July with a few families from that area. Today, they continue to grow and many lives are being added to the church.

MISSIONS INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE, KOREA Last October 11-15, 2020 we were privileged to be a part of the missions conference hosted by our partner, Grace and Truth Church. We strengthened our bond with GNTC and established relationships with the other missionaries.

EQUIPPING CHURCHES Part of our mandate is to equip the Body of Christ to be established and mature. Immediately after the conference in Korea, we proceeded to Padova, Italy where Elvie, Pastor Roy and I ministered to pastors in the Networking of European Christians (NEC) held on Oct. 15-18. We also visited our church PDF Hope Missions International Church and spent time with their pastors and leaders to strengthen our relationship and equipped them on the Kingdom culture.

MISSION TO PHILIPPINES AND TRINIDAD The mission compassion team was sent to Manila and Trinidad to feed the needy children and provide school supplies. Thank you for your support that helped hundreds of children.

There are so much more that God has done in and through us. But, we could not have accomplished these things without our dedicated pastors and leaders. I am grateful to our L5, Board members, pastors, staff, and volunteers for their diligence in serving throughout the year.

Yours in Christ,

Jerry and Elvie Berenguer Lead Pastor

The anniversary celebration started on a Friday night with a Youth Rally with special guest speaker fromBrampton Pastor Michelle Berenguer.Followed by a Saturday Evangelistic Night with Pastor Jerry Berenguer bringing the word. Both nights were a harvest of souls as many people came forward to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savioras well as people who rededicated their lives to the Lord. And then Sunday morning celebration was a dance number presentation participated by all ministries andnetworks which is practically every member of CLC Calgary. It was a joyous day, it was a fun day. That is something that we will remember and cherish for many manyyears to come.

Attended by 33 kids. And led by Lead School graduates who took ownership of this event together with the Champion KidzMinistry.

Year 2019 was a big and busy year for CLC Calgary. In February, we celebrated CLC Calgary’s 10th Year Anniversary with the theme “ACCELERATE”. Highlighting the goodness of God and how He accelerated us over the course of 10 years to where we are now.Molding and shaping us into the son He wanted us to be.

CLC Calgary hosted the 2019 Pastors Conference. Attended by pastors from Brampton, the satellite churchesand CLC affiliate churches from Trinidad and the Philippines. It was like a great family reunion. July is a special month here in Calgary in honor of the tradition of the stampede. CLC prepared a stampedebreakfast for the community. To let them know we are here and that we are ready to help. With a host ofactivities for the kids of the community plus a live band. Turnout was great of around 450 people. July also is the VBS month. Our kids together with their friends participated for 2 days in an African Safariadventure called ROAR!

We also had our volunteer appreciation event night called “HARMONY”. It was a fantastic night of fun andlaughter and bonding time as each ministry competing for Carpool Karaoke Champion. Its good thing to knowtoo that about 95 per cent of our membership are volunteers and workers. And as a pastor all I can say is "Gloryto God!”. Also in September as part of serving and reaching out to our community, the Community Outreach Networkwent to Hope Mission twice and distributed 48 pieces of school bags with school supplies and hygiene suppliesfor the less privilege children of the community. And again the Community Outreach Network partnered with Erin Woods Community for their ChristmasEvent. Decorating their entire community center and provided giveaways, provided face painting, balloonmaking for kids. December came, 25 People volunteered to form 2 groups that went to Samaritans Purse to pack shoe boxes forthe Operation Christmas Box.

The year 2019 was a very busy year for CLC Calgary, we have held several events within the centrethat have made the role and function of the GMS a bit challenging yet very rewarding. We had threedays of celebration of our 10th year anniversary, thus we had served three successive days as well inthe ministry. The Pastors’ Summit in May was also a three-day event that the volunteers gladlyserved. With this being said, I would like to thank our coordinators Jen Fouts- Reyes and Glocel Diva whotook the responsibility of coordinating the volunteers’ schedule and making sure that the Ministrywas run well during their office term and to all the volunteers who have committed their time andeffort to accomplish the Ministry’s task Sunday after Sunday. God bless you all for the hard workdone for His name’s sake. Somemembers step up as leaders and I’m one of them who accepted the task that is intrusted to me. Thisis my first year to be the head of Ushering Ministry. Through the help and guidance of MannyEspinosa and Zorhayda Espinosa I was able to perform the task given to me. I can’t do this alone without volunteers. I want to express my gratitude to all volunteers who signedup in our JAM event. Sacrifice and dedication to serve the Lord is the key why Ushering Ministrystay strong. We have 22 volunteers that includes new and recommitted members and I’m proud totell you that we have most of our new sign up are youth. We praise and give glory to God for a fruitful 2019. We started the year with big excitement as we celebrated the 10th year anniversary of our church. We led worship for the three consecutive days – Friday night led by the youth and young adultmembers of the team; Saturday for the Worship night and the Sunday Grand Celebration. Our teamworked hard by spending many days of practices prior to the big event. We were stretched but theresult was amazing – the anniversary was surely a blast and many people including us were touchedby the Holy Spirit which resulted in increasing passion to worship the Lord with our talents. The Anniversary also opened opportunities for us to be invited to lead worship at other churches'events such as the Canadian Awakening evening services in March and July at Calgary Life Church. We also hosted and led the worship for the Partners in Christ Fellowship’s Good Friday event whichwas attended by many people from different religions. Over the course of 2019, the Praise and Worship Team faithfully served the church and led worshipthrough many events such as Encounter God Retreats, Worship Nights with increasing attendance,RIPE, and other small groups and networks gathering. The Worship Team and Creative Arts performed the “Living Hope” presentation in April during theEaster Sunday Worship, and the Christmas Special in December through musical expressions –drama, spoken words, interpretative and modern dance, and singing. It's such a joy to see ourmembers grow in their giftings and passion as they offer their talents to the Lord. I am blessed to be serving in this ministry alongside the core leaders – CJ Reyes, Diosa Eugenio andDavid Villavicencio who are tirelessly leading each sub-group to grow in their musical and technicalskills and guiding each member to serve with excellence. I thank all the members of the Worship and Arts who are continually investing their time, talentsand resources to further this ministry. May the Lord continue to multiply what you all have beenfaithfully offering to Him.

Champion Kidz , the childrens ministry of Champion Life Centre continues to be an active and anintegral part of the church in helping our members’ children grow and establish a good foundationof their Christian faith. We are happy to report that we have 17 staff who are involve in our Sunday school and nurserystarting Sept of 2019 up to the present . An exciting news that happened last 2019, is that theparents of some of our kids have committed and actively participated in our Vacation Bible School. What a welcome addition to the roaster of our volunteers. Last year we have seen a steady growth in our attendance with an average of 35 kids every Sunday. That’s Sunday School and Nursery attendance combined. During the Easter month we had a special interactive study on the death and resurrection of Jesuscalled Walking with Jesus. Summer time is the most exciting time for our kids here cause they know that its VBS time!!!! last2019 we took our kids on a great african adventure in ROAR ! We have all discovered that eventhough life is tough God is good. We are happy to report that our LEAD school graduates took onmajor roles in running the learning stations during our VBS. Attendance for this event was 33 . We also had a fun hallelujah night called “double double”. Wherein our kids came in costume inpairs. In the course of the year, we had mini projects that we did . During thanksgiving , we have collectedmac and Cheese boxes which we donated to Erinwoods Community Association for theircommunity Pantry. Christmas time we initiated operations Christmas child boxes. We have collected50 boxes church wide and delivered them to the Samaritans Purse Processing centre. We would like to thank all of you for you continued support to our ministry and to the spiritualgrowth of your kids. Rest assured we will press on to build a champion Godly character in your kids. Blessings.

Leadership Team:

Living Proof YYC is the vibrant youth ministry of Champion Life Centre Calgary catering to young peopleages 12-18 years old. We gather every Friday nights at the Centre from 7:30PM – 9:30PM unless said otherwise. The year of 2019 was a year of building the foundation again with the youth, after the recent changes in 2018was completed, 2019 was a year that we used to build a stronger relationship with the youth. This year had anaverage attendance of 15 youth throughout the 42 LP Fridays (including events and lesson Fridays). There wassome Fridays were we couldn’t conduct LP due to Church related events or Holidays. In the first quarter of 2019, we had our 10th Year Anniversary which we hosted a Youth Rally. Our youngpeople invited their friends and other churches joined as well. It was a sure success as we had young peopleacross the board dedicating their lives to God. We also started the year with lighter events just to adjust to theanniversary preparations. At the end of the quarter we started a series called “I Love LP” which coincides withthe “I love my church” series that Pastor Jesse did during Sundays. The highlights of Q1 were the Anniversaryand the Youth Rally. In the second quarter of 2019 we continued out the "I Love LP" series which ran throughout April and finishedit off with a review of the series by doing a Jeopardy type game in which the questions all centered around theI Love LP series. After we finished the series, we moved on and started a new one called Peer Pressure series, which we studied peer pressure and looked at how to stand against it in a godly way. We ended the series withanother review, and throughout the rest of June we did a lot of events which further established ourrelationship with the young people. Events like Karaoke Night, Grad Party and the Bonfire were all big hitsduring the second quarter, but most importantly the young people really learned a lot from the 2 series that wehad during this time. The third quarter of 2019 saw Fe Nerio go to LEAD School in Brampton, Ontario for a month. Fe grew inLiving Proof and now growing in Impulse and a leader in the Youth Ministry. The beginning of summer forthe young people, we had events for them lined up, LP Stampede, and Games Night. We also had some youngpeople volunteer in then annual VBS. By the time August came around, we were all preparing for our annualYouth Encounter, we also had a movie night and a hike as well. September started a new event for the last 4months of 2019, which was to reach out to the Erin Woods community and their young people. We startedwith contacting Lori Losowy and we coordinated a Games Night at their facility which was a success. Thehighlights for the third quarter was the Youth Encounter and our very first outreach to Erin Woods. At the end of 2019 saw 2 more outreaches to Erin Woods, and our annual Christmas party, themed Roaring20s. We also touched upon the topic of relationships with our relationship series which was highlighted by thecouples panel which included some of our own leaders who gave advice to the youth and their questions. Thelast quarter was highlighted by our Christmas party. This January we continue on with our Devotion series.

Impulse network caters to the ages of 19-35 years old. Having said that, our goal last year was to getevery young adult to meet and fellowship with one another in very fun ways. We tried to go out ofour comfort zone by heading somewhere we have never been. We designated one speaker everyevent to share God's word. We continually share our event to our young adults out there. We arebuilding memories together, getting other young adults to meet one another and buildingrelationships that will last as we walk together as Christians. In 2019, we have started from 21 Young Adults attending our events. On our last event we havecounted 25 young adults connecting with us! In the year 2019, due to our big event (10th year anniversary) we started out in March 2019 with a hotpot. This was a fun time and everybody enjoyed our simple event. We made sure everyone couldenjoy everybody’s company by having lunch together. Later on, we have tried something new. Wewent paintballing. It was located at Cochrane at first and we have opened it to anyone that would liketo participate! There was a huge demand for it that we went a second time! In this tome we tried theBrag Creek location. We have reached out to more than 150+ guests and introduce our Centre in thecommunity. Our next Impulse event was Wing night and Karaoke at the Enjambre’s residence. Westarted with Vince sharing encouragement followed by eating our wings and singing our hearts out! In September 2019, we relaunched our Young Adults Network. We have made LifeGroups withinthis network and meet every week. This 2020, our Goal is to bring Young Adults closer and have a deeper relationship with God andwith each other so we can build each other up and rise up together.

Women’s Network is Jesus-centered. It's all about helping other women to come to Christ. To seekand deepen their relationship with Christ. It's about encouraging people to understand the gospel, respond to the gospel and apply the gospel to every aspect of life. And that happens when womenengage with God through His Word and prayer. Beyond that - there are many forms that women'snetwork can take! But it's not just about women being active. It's about women being intentional. Thekey to women's network is looking at the needs of the women in the local church and the localcommunity and thinking strategically about how best to meet those needs. Through our eventshappened in 2019, women have shared their experiences in life, love, mission, equipping and how toenjoy life as a Christian. Women’s Encounter with God was held on March 15-16. This was attended by 39 women who werecomforted, refreshed and experienced the grace and mercy of God. April 6th was the celebration of Women’s Encounter and we had barbecue party at Carnecer’sresidence were everyone enjoyed the fun games, food and fellowship. June 16th was the celebration of Father’s Day. This was a special day that we give to honor alldaddies in the house. Everyone enjoyed as we all watched daddies dancing the Baby Shark and otherspecial performances from children and moms. In partnership with Men’s Network we had Men and Women Chemistry Shop Talk on August 31st.This was a great time were we learned how some of the couple met and what are the most commoncause of arguments and differences of every couple. Our last event for 2019 was Women’s Breakfast “True Beauty” on November 16th – This was acollaboration with Community Outreach headed by MaryCris Reyes. An awesome time to discusswith women what true beauty really is. As it says in 1 Peter 3:3-4 your beauty should not come fromoutward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. 4Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which isof great worth in God’s sight. 2020 will be another challenging year but full of blessings because of the contribution of everywomen. Women’s Network will continue to love, inspire, support and encourage one another. Togrow spiritually, learn more about the word of God and include missions outside the church. Allthings are possible through Christ our Lord.

A Reboot was launched the following month. We set out determined to move from a default to designapproach. Accomplishing this through consistent communication and creative announcements. Shiftingthe perception that our men are silent beings but rather an active movement in the church body. To facilitate this, we introduced "Shop Talk" gatherings. Informal conversations on relevant topics thatsegued into application of God's words. We had 4 successful meetings:

1) Sports2) Heroes3) Through the Lens4) Chemistry (joint effort with the Women's Network) "Well planned gathering looking forward for other meeting like the one we have and most part liked is theworship part and meeting along men and I don't know." - Member

Our March 2019 annual Encounter God Retreat was a spirit renewal event. The preparations leading upto the meetings were diligently planned months in advance. The Core Leads with the help of many ofour men carried out all deliverables seamlessly. God was honored and its impact will manifest in yearsto come. May 2019 Mother's Day celebration was special. An opportunity to speak life into them. Intimate timewas set aside in worship, a special newscast skit, lunch and a tribute toast... cheers to all the Mothers! Lastly, a Soaking Night that was held September 2019. It was the capstone of our year! Also, apartnership endeavor with a few other church leaderships. The men met an evening of worship, prayer, spoken word, freedom, healing and surrender.

"I thought it went well. I thought the Holy Spirit encountered the men & vice-versa. So glad to be a part of it. Ithought the worship was meaningful and well done. Glad the words were up for the spoken word. The time withthe cross was great. Had quite a few men Appreciated that night. Great to have different Churches & pastorsrepresented." - Pastor Shawn Kelly

A very special thank you to Pastor Jesse Carnecer, who shepherded us along the way. Allowing us tolearn, grow and advance the 2019 vision goals. The past year has proven to be engaging, fruitful and rewarding. All for His glory!

Hello Champions! A blessed 2020 to all of you! It is my privilege to report to you the

accomplishments of Family Life Network for the year 2019.

It is an unforgettable 2019 for all the members of Champion Life Centre as the leaders of all

the ministry & network have come together in organizing a spectacular event to celebrate the

10th year of our church. It was the highlight of the year as all the members participated on a

3-day celebration that showed the wonderful ten years of Champion Life Centre. It was an

amazing experience for each & every member of the congregation.

In August of 2019, Family Life Network hosted the church’s summer picnic. This time, it was

held indoor, as the weather did not allow us to enjoy the sun & the lake as planned. It was a

challenging moment but the champion spirit in us made things happened as we thrive

beyond challenges. The excitement & the energy of all the attendees of the event were just as

exuberant as a true Champion! The participants showed their competitiveness &

sportsmanship as they poured their heart out in all the games. It was, indeed, a summer

FUNtastic!

To end the 2019, Family Life Network hosted a very successful Christmas Banquet, entitled,

“The Voice of Champions”. It was a night to remember as all the life groups showcased their

talents & creativeness in a Christmas Carol Singing Competition. The event was well

attended, as there were 142 members & 72 guests that joined us on that astounding night of

fun & laughter. It was truly an extraordinary event for CLC!

This year 2020, Family Life Network will continue to create program & events that will

cultivate unity & build stronger relationships among family members. It is always our goal to

be an advocate for the development of healthy & godly family relationships.

Lastly, I would like to thank all the members of Family Life Network for all the hard work in

making all our events successful. Your commitment to serve in our church is admirable. May

God bless you in all aspect of your lives!

CLC’s presence maintains its relationship to the community not only as a church but as an institutionthat supports the community of Calgary. We continue to reflect and represent Christ as we support and serve thepeople of Calgary. Here’s an overview of our support and services to the community

Community Services

Community Engagement

CLC participated in the Homeand Heart Festival held at Genesis Centre to meet and connect with other agencies and organizations in buildingfamilies and relationships. Here, we met a lot of service providers and brokers that will support us in our futureoutreach projects.

Community Resources

Fund Raising activities were created such as the TV Raffle and Banquet Sale of Clothes and other stuffs. A donationof $3000 through the employee volunteer program from Intact Insurance was also received. And most of all we alsoappreciate the blessings from CLC members for the Erin Woods for the pasta gift pack.

Community Awareness

The network aims to create awareness that CLC is here to promote family relationships, charity and supportcommunity projects by hosting the above events. It’s been a pleasant year connecting to help others from diversebackgrounds and cultures. As another year starts, we will continue to collaborate and engage the CLC members to domore and serve God by serving others.

CLC Community Outreach Network, people helping people will continue to bless the world for 2020.
