BOARD OF TRUST££S .f~OR THE STATt:: COLI.EGES

Having followed appropriate affirmative action procedures forthe selection of a Dean of Professional Studies from within the facultyand staff of the College, I recommend to the Board of Trustees theappointment of Professor Rocco Orlando to that position.

Dr. Orlando has demonstrated his competency as an administratorand is a highly respected professor in our Administration and Supervision Sixth Year Program. He also serves from time to time as amediator appointed by the State Education Department to help resolvecollective bargaining differences between teachers and administrationin school districts throughout the State. I consider his background incollective bargaining to be a useful asset for a lllember of my Cabinet.

I attach his vita, which provides a complete summary of hiseducational and professional background. If approved by the Trustees,his appointment would becollle effective as of the beginning of the1976-77 academic year.

s~urs,
