David RoadmanCD2B – Male – Central Point, ORCandidate: Hillary ClintonPLEO: Chair, Jackson County DemocratsDonor: Party Supporter

Statement of Candidacy:

David Roadman- Jackson County

I am running to be a delegate for Hillary Clinton. I Chair the Jackson County Democrats and for many years have helped elect Democrats. I support the labor movement. With unions under attack, it’s important for us to strengthen our Party at the local level by recruiting volunteers to help elect leaders who share our key values of a strong middle class, a healthy environment that will sustain us into the future, plus a community vision that includes a path forward allowing all citizens to reach their fullest potential.

Hillary is the candidate best equipped to help us reach our goals. She has the experience necessary to take command from day one to quickly identify the issues and garner resources necessary to work with Congress. With a Democratic Senate, she will be able to help implement a reform-minded agenda to address the long neglected issues facing our country. I ask for your vote to carry this message to the convention in Philadelphia

When you return to Oregon from the Democratic National Convention, please tell us in detail what you will do to elect Democrats up and down the ticket in November?

To serve our candidates, the Jackson County Democrats make office space available for three campaigns, with more space available this fall for phone banks to contact voters. The office is a convenient pick-up location for campaign materials. I will continue to recruit volunteers to work on campaigns. I will use our newsletter and social media to promote campaign events and support candidates. I will personally volunteer time to the campaigns for canvassing and phone banks as needed.

I’ve been an active Democrat most of my life and will continue to be. I’ve donated to several campaigns and will do that too between now and November. I distribute slate cards to my neighbors, usually more than 500 and will do so again this year. I also attend rallies and make calls and perform office work in the headquarters of several campaigns including Hillary’s. And, of course I will vote. As a precinct committee person for many years, I will also find others to perform

Nathan SoltzCD2B – Male – Medford, ORCandidate: Hillary ClintonCommunities: Asian/Pacific Islander, Hispanic/Latino, YouthPLEO: Vice Chair, DPO Latino CaucusDonor: Grassroots Democrat

Statement of Candidacy:

I am the son of an immigrant; a woman who came to this country from El Salvador at age 14, where she had been orphaned by her adoptive mother at the age of 7 (and the Japanese ambassador who left the mother of his child) because of the gruesome civil war unfolding in front of her eyes. This is my background, which propels me to do everything I possibly can to give opportunity and hope to people who typically feel hopeless.

I started my life in activism and politics at age 15 when I got involved with the Oregon United for Marriage campaign. Since then, I have worked on the Measure 88 campaign to get undocumented immigrants driver cards, Senator Merkley’s reelection campaign, and State Senator Bates’ reelection campaign, with whom I also intern. I am involved to help bring real change to politics, and I know that Hillary Clinton is the only candidate who can bring that change to the country which I am proud to call home and, more importantly, which my mom is now proud to call home.

When you return to Oregon from the Democratic National Convention, please tell us in detail what you will do to elect Democrats up and down the ticket in November?

I am endorsed by DPO’s First and Second Vice-Chairs Karen Packer and Wayne Kinney, and DNC Member Larry Taylor; additionally, Hillary for Oregon’s top staffers: Director Jillian Schoene and Coalition Director Jalisa Washington. I am also endorsed by Governor Barbara Roberts.

They see the work I do as Vice-Chair of the DPO Latino Caucus and for the county parties. Being young, Latino, and Asian gives me unique insight invaluable to electing Democrats and passing Democratic measures.

Statement of Candidacy:

My name is Amanda Deyerle and I am a dedicated Democrat. Currently, I am Chair of the Polk County Democratic Central Committee. During my time as chair, I have had the opportunity to get to know Democrats all around our beautiful state. I have been heavily involved in local elections through fundraising and volunteer efforts. This involvement on the local level has shaped what I believe we need on the national level.

We need someone who understands what is happening in the lives of Americans. We need someone committed to bettering the lives of Americans. We need someone who is willing to go all in and work with allies and opposition to make these things happen. That is why I support nominating Hillary Clinton. Hillary Clinton has dedicated her life to public service. From her work in the private and public legal sector, to her varied political positions now on her resume, Hillary Clinton is well prepared for the highest political position in our nation, President.

When you return to Oregon from the Democratic National Convention, please tell us in detail what you will do to elect Democrats up and down the ticket in November?

On my return from the DNC, I’ll jump right back into volunteering and fundraising for candidates from the top to the bottom of the ticket. As Chair of the Polk County Democratic Central Committee, getting fellow Democrats elected is always a top priority. I will continue working directly with local campaigns, help state wide campaigns with local offices, or be their conduit in lieu of one. I will also coordinate members of my county party to help with as many of our candidates as possible.

Shemia FaganCD3 – Female – Happy Valley, ORCandidate: Hillary ClintonCommunities: YouthPLEO: State Representative, House District 51Donor: Grassroots Democrat

Statement of Candidacy:Why I Support Hillary ClintonI support Hillary Clinton because she is the only person running for President with a comprehensive vision to address both the systemic barriers facing our country and the personal barriers that have shaped my family. My life was largely shape by the fact that my mom struggled with drug addiction for most of my life. In 2009 my mom overdosed and she was finally able to get clean. In the following years, we got to see what her life could have been, but for that barrier. Her battle with addiction wasn’t cause by big banks and won’t be solved by Wall Street reform. So I am glad that Hillary Clinton has a plan to reform Wall Street. But I am thrilled that she also has a $10 billion plan to combat drug abuse. I support Hillary Clinton because she is the only candidate in this race with plans to break down all of the barriers that hold our families back, not just the ones that draw big crowds.

When you return to Oregon from the Democratic National Convention, please tell us in detail what you will do to elect Democrats up and down the ticket in November? What Shemia Fagan Will Do to Elect Down Ticket DemocratsAs a former down ticket Democrat in a swing district, I will do one thing, and only one thing, to help down ticket Democrats. I will say “Yes.” I will say “Yes” when Democrats ask me to canvass. I will say “Yes” when Democrats ask me to phone bank.I will say “Yes” when Democrats ask me to give money.I will say “Yes” when Democrats ask me to endorse. It is simple. I will say “Yes.”

Julie FaheyCD4 – Female – Eugene, ORCandidate: Hillary ClintonPLEO: Treasurer, Democratic Party of OregonDonor: Party Supporter

Statement of Candidacy:

I am proud to be a lifelong Democrat and a supporter of Hillary Clinton for President. I served as Chair of the Democratic Party of Lane County from 2012-14, helping to organize the progressive community and working hard to get candidates who fight for Democratic values elected. I am currently continuing this work as the Treasurer of the Democratic Party of Oregon.

During my time as DPLC Chair, I helped build the party’s volunteer & financial support, so that for the first time, in 2014 we hired an organizer to manage our volunteer base & run our GOTV operation. I’m incredibly proud of the results we achieved in Lane County – we increased Democratic turnout by about 3 points from 2010 to 2014, when in the rest of Oregon, Democratic turnout in the General actually fell by about a point. So, that is the power of organizing and the power of hard work by people who are committed to Democratic values. It’s that grassroots spirit that I carry with me and hope to bring to the 2016 convention.

When you return to Oregon from the Democratic National Convention, please tell us in detail what you will do to elect Democrats up and down the ticket in November?

I am currently the Democratic nominee for State Representative in House District 14, having won my competitive primary in May with a grassroots, people-powered campaign. I’ve spent the last 6 months going door-to-door in my district, engaging Democrats in the political process and encouraging them to vote. My campaign also built & trained a phenomenal team of volunteers. All of us are ready and willing to continue our work in the general election, helping to get Democrats at all levels elected.

Meryl IbisCD2A – Female – Bend, ORCandidate: Hillary ClintonPLEO: Vice Chair, Deschutes County Democrats

Statement of Candidacy:

In 1996 I graduated from college and was inspired by the Clintons’ commitment to public service to join the Peace Corps, where I served 2 years as a rural health volunteer in West Africa. Since then, I’ve worked to advance Democratic principles such as raising the minimum wage, environmental issues and protecting a woman’s right to choose. This work has been particularly challenging in rural regions. 1 in 5 Oregon Democratic primary voters live in a rural area, and I wish to represent these Democratic voters as a delegate for Hillary Clinton to the Democratic National Convention. I am currently the Vice Chair of the Deschutes County Democrats where we work against tremendous odds to elect Democrats to state and local office. We need to take the concerns and the needs of Democratic voters in rural areas to the national level, and as a delegate for Clinton from Deschutes County, I intend to do so.

When you return to Oregon from the Democratic National Convention, please tell us in detail what you will do to elect Democrats up and down the ticket in November?

Electing Democrats in Central Oregon has never been easy; however, it’s not impossible. For 2 years Deschutes Democrats have built and run a Neighborhood Leader Program which has helped elect Democrats to local offices. We will continue to run this program through this cycle to elect more Democrats at all levels of government. I will return from the Democratic National Convention ready to recruit volunteers, knock on doors and Get Out the Vote for all Democrats in November.

Statement of Candidacy:

Vote Annabelle Jaramillo for Clinton convention delegate! I pledge to cast my vote for Hillary Rodham Clinton to be our Party’s nominee for President of the United States. I supported Secretary Clinton in 2008. I continue to avidly support her now and I am convinced that she will be a President that serves all our country well! President Obama trusted her to be America’s Secretary of State. She is the only candidate with both national and international experience. With so much conflict in the world, diplomacy will really matter. With political divisions at home, a strong understanding of our diverse communities and combative political factions is needed. No other candidate has those skills. Hillary has endured public and personal scrutiny with grace, dignity and perseverance. I’m proud to support her candidacy! I will appreciate your vote! Annabelle Jaramillo for Hillary Clinton!

I am an active member of the Oregon Trail Democrats, a member of the Clackamas Central Committee and a District 52 PCP. I am also a Neighborhood Leader, actively working with local families to assure turnout. I served in the Oregon House as vice-chair of a natural resources committee and on the committee dealing with families and women’s health. I have owned a business and consulted on renewable energy for 33 years. I have served on the county planning commission and currently serve as an elected board member and former chair of the Clackamas Soil & Water Conservation District and previous chair of the Clackamas River Basin Watershed Council. I have served on agency rulemaking committees and am currently a member of the City of Sandy budget committee. I strongly support Hillary and will work hard on her campaign to support her philosophy that we need to “create good-paying jobs and make America the world’s clean energy superpower” among other issues.

When you return to Oregon from the Democratic National Convention, please tell us in detail what you will do to elect Democrats up and down the ticket in November?

As a Neighborhood Leader, I will be working locally for all candidates on the slate. I will be hosting house parties, making calls to gain support for our candidates and knocking on doors to support them. As a former legislator in a swing district, I know how to use these tools and will support Hillary and our entire slate vigorously. I will also mentor others who are willing to take on those roles and continue my participation in community party events and town halls.

Tanya ShivelyCD4 – Female – Philomath, ORCandidate: Hillary ClintonPLEO: Secretary, Democratic Party of OregonDonor: Grassroots Democrat

Statement of Candidacy:

It has been my pleasure to be the Democratic Party of Oregon Secretary since 2011. But even though I am a DPO Officer, I am not a ‘superdelegate’ and need YOUR vote to attend the Convention.

I was raised in Southern Oregon and graduated from Eagle Point High School. Due to circumstances beyond my control I have also lived in Texas, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, and Canada. I was never happier than when I returned to Oregon permanently. I live in rural Benton County, and am active with the local County Party.

Participating in the political process is very rewarding. I have attended every DPO Platform Convention since 2004, and have served as Platform Secretary, a session moderator, and have scribed numerous work sessions. I have also served on the DPO Rules Committee. I am the Benton County Dems Rules chair, and past Secretary, SCC delegate, and Office Manager. I was chosen Volunteer of the Year in 2009.

I Really want to go to Philly - and would GREATLY appreciate your vote!

When you return to Oregon from the Democratic National Convention, please tell us in detail what you will do to elect Democrats up and down the ticket in November?

I firmly believe that ‘down ticket’ races are very important, and I will work not only on the Presidential campaign, but also on the state wide offices and local races in Benton County.

In the past I have phone banked, canvassed, worked in Headquarters, registered voters, and helped with GOTV activities. I will continue these efforts, along with my duties as DPO Secretary.

I will do whatever I can to elect Democrats!!!!

I have been to National Conventions, but this one is very important to me because I supported HILLARY CLINTON in 2008. I want to vote her as the Nominee of the Democratic Party. I will do everything I can to make sure that she beats Donald Trump and in Oregon we continue to hold all of the state-wide offices and the Legislature.

Past Political Activities: I have been politically active since 1960 and I joined the Marion County DCC in 1968. I served as Chair two times, served on and chaired many committees, and worked for many candidates. I Chaired the 5th CD two times.

As a member of the State Central Committee, I served as Chair of the State Finance Committee and the State Campaign Committee. I was responsible for the first Statewide Coordinated Campaign, including the developing the protocols and candidate agreements prior to putting the plan into action. I have served as County and/or District Chair for many candidates through the years.

Hi! I would like to ask for your vote and support. I am 20 years old and a student at Pacific University. I am a double major in Political Science and Ethics, Law, and Society. I fell in love with politics when I was 16 and have had the opportunity to volunteer for a number of campaigns. I am currently in my second year as the president of the Pacific University College Democrats. I am also the Co-Chair for the Young Democrats of Washington County and the Political Director for the College Democrats of Oregon Executive Board. I firmly believe that getting Democrats into office is of great importance, especially in regards to the presidential race this year with so many of our freedoms and beliefs are being threatened by the other side. I myself hope to one day run for office at different levels of government, but in the meantime, I humbly ask for your help to elect me as a delegate for Hillary Clinton - a Democrat who is capable, experienced, and certainly worthy of being a president of these United States of America. Thank you.

When you return to Oregon from the Democratic National Convention, please tell us in detail what you will do to elect Democrats up and down the ticket in November?

Through the different positions I hold, as well as outside of these positions, I am working to get Democrats elected. My position as Political Director of the College Democrats of Oregon, for example, involves reaching out to campaigns and figuring out what these campaigns need and what students across the state in different chapters and counties can do to help out. On a personal level I will be devoting myself to campaigns in both volunteering and through internships.

Statement of Candidacy:

I am excited to be considered as a candidate for a Clinton delegate to the National Convention! I have been proud Democrat all of my adult life. My activities started when I was protesting the war in Viet Nam and volunteering on crisis lines while in college. I went on to work in education as a school psychologist, including being a union rep and walking picket lines to demand improved services for children and better wages for teachers. I have worked for local Democratic candidates and parties consistently over the years and am currently a PCP for the Oregon Democratic Party in McMinnville. I think Hillary Clinton will be an amazing president and I would be honored to represent Oregon at the convention. I would even bring my mandolin and lead the delegation in folk songs!

When you return to Oregon from the Democratic National Convention, please tell us in detail what you will do to elect Democrats up and down the ticket in November?

When I return to Oregon from the convention, I expect to be Fired Up and Ready To Go! My experience will help me rally the community to vote for the Democratic nominee. I will be walking the district for local and national candidates and helping the ODP to become an even more powerful presence in the state. I will work with the party at the county and state level to attract new voters and, most importantly, to get out the vote in November.

Statement of Candidacy:

As a Business Owner and Licensed Tax Consultant in the state of Oregon, election time is vital. My name is Lori Colt. I’ve lived in Portland most of my life, graduating from David Douglas High. This election “season” has empowered more voices to speak out than any other election I can recollect. The tax brackets still favor the wealthiest in this country. This has created such a disparity between economic classes and continues to divide everyone. We must elect officials who are willing to be honest and raise taxes on those that can afford it...or at least bring their brackets closer to what the middle class is paying. As a mother of a chronically ill child, who is now an adult, keeping our Affordable Care Act means she is protected. This is something I will personally fight to keep. Healthcare should not be a “perk”. It is a moral right! I ask that you consider me with your votes and I will represent you and all of our citizens who need an advocate on their side. Thank you and remember that every vote truly does count!

When you return to Oregon from the Democratic National Convention, please tell us in detail what you will do to elect Democrats up and down the ticket in November?

When I return from the Democratic National Convention, I will continue to reach out to those that have not registered to vote yet and get them registered. I’ve done this in the past and will continue to do so. Monitoring debates, listening to our voters, and bringing their concerns to our candidates will be my focus. It is absolutely amazing what education and information can do. When used as a tool to gain a nominee or elected official’s attention, progress is made.

Statement of Candidacy:

Since I was a young girl watching debates and National Conventions, I developed a keen interest in the political process and have dreamed about some day attending the National Convention as a delegate. Even though I am new to Clackamas County, I am not new to politics as I have been involved for over 40 years volunteering on various campaigns.

As an immigration lawyer, I have a front row seat to the issues they face. Most DO NOT get the immigration issue correct. It is important to have someone who knows that issue so that at the Convention we get it right.

I have intimate knowledge of other important issues. As a person who returned to law school at a later age I understand the student loan crisis. I also have a brother who suffers from schizophrenia and my mother is the recipient of the NAMI national award for her tireless work at the state level here in Oregon on behalf of families with members with mental illness.

These are just some of the major issues where Democrats can set ourselves apart from the Republicans and make an important difference with key demographics of voters in November.

When you return to Oregon from the Democratic National Convention, please tell us in detail what you will do to elect Democrats up and down the ticket in November?

As a Precinct Committee Person and Neighborhood Leader I have seen where grassroots campaigning can make a difference to get out the vote. As an attorney, everywhere I go I constantly advocate on behalf of issues that impact my immigration and other clients. I also discuss how electing more Democrats that share these values is most important especially in 2016. I plan on continuing with these efforts in the political context so as to elect more Democrats to make a positive difference in the lives of many.

President Obama trusted her to be America’s Secretary of State. She is the only candidate with both national and international experience. With so much conflict in the world, diplomacy will really matter. With political divisions at home, a strong understanding of our diverse communities and combative political factions is needed. In 1986, SEIU Local 99 sent a group of us to San Diego to work with the famed farmworker Organizer, Marshal Ganz. He and 16 young community Organizers turned out 5,000 minority voters over a six week period of time to elect Maureen O’Connor the new Mayor of San Diego. It was wildly exciting - I was sent to the home of a black woman who had been selected to GOTV in her neighborhood. I just assisted her with anything she needed. I will never forget Marshal Ganz having all the Organizers dance and chant to get hyped to go out every day. And all the butcher paper all over the walls to show the progress of each Organizer.

As the Primary approached I handed off my YD responsibility to others so I could focus on helping Hillary. I reached out to HRC supporters and set up weekly organizing meetings in Salem. Eventually, once the Hillary for Oregon Campaign was on the ground in Oregon, I was offered a formal position with the campaign as the organizer for the Willamette Valley.

Statement of Candidacy:

I have been a life time supporter of the Democratic Party and helped candidates get elected through contributions of time and money. Recently, I have worked for the Multnomah County Democratic Party spreading the word of the party.

As Chair of the Platform, Resolution and Legislation Committee, I oversaw the development of the 2016 Multnomah County Democratic Party Platform. The Committee solicited ideas from County Democrats for inclusion in the Platform. These ideas were incorporated into Articles and Planks on Education, Economy, Social Security and Health, Equality, Energy and Environment, Community, Justice and Immigration.

We moved ideas from the grass roots to the party using the structure of the Platform. People had differing opinions, but in the end we came together to craft the ideas into the Platform approved at the County Convention.

I would like to bring the message of the Platform to the National Democratic Convention as a delegate for Hillary.

I began my Democratic identity when, as a sixth grader in small-town Iowa, I was the only kid in my class to raise my hand when asked how many of us would vote for Jimmy Carter! I went on to work for many Democratic candidates. I’ve volunteered for Hillary during both her campaigns.

I support corporate accountability; LGBTQ rights; campaign finance reform; economic equality; labor rights; immigration reform; and politics of inclusiveness, caring, and humanity.

If elected as your delegate, I will be a strong advocate for these issues. I will proudly cast my vote for Hillary Clinton, and I’ll come back to Oregon and work hard to ensure she is our next President!

When you return to Oregon from the Democratic National Convention, please tell us in detail what you will do to elect Democrats up and down the ticket in November?

I will be a Democratic Precinct committeewoman, and I will work tirelessly to do the hard work necessary to ensure she wins in Oregon. I’ll be involved in both identifying her supporters and in getting out the vote. This also means ensuring our Party is strong and remains strong for future elections, ensuring Democrats represent us in D.C., and in Salem.

Work Experience: Oregon Legislative Assembly. Oregon Occupational Safety and Health Division

Union Activity: OPEIU, SEIU, Oregon AFL-CIO (Board and COPE Board), and Teamsters

Statement of Candidacy:

The Democratic Party is the only party I’ve known since I was old enough to vote. I grew up in the Pacific Northwest and live near my daughter’s family here in Eugene. Having two grandchildren is my incentive to do what I can to ensure they have a bright future. I do this by volunteering as one of many relentless phone bankers focused on helping to get the vote out and donate to the DNC when I can. Becoming a delegate for the Democratic Party is another opportunity for me to serve the folks I’m counting on to safeguard opportunities for all families. As a delegate, I’ll do my part to help carry the voices from my community to the convention, work to get others excited in wanting to help win the election, and help champion local and national political events to seat our candidates nationally. My leadership and organizational skills are strong, and l enjoy working on campaigns that help change today and reshape tomorrow. I believe working together keeps America strong.

When you return to Oregon from the Democratic National Convention, please tell us in detail what you will do to elect Democrats up and down the ticket in November?

When I return from the convention, I will contact Democratic Party leaders in my state (i.e., Senators, Congressmen, Governor) and volunteer to help with their campaigns, and I will resume making calls to get out the vote for the general election. Through my network of friends, family and social groups I will ask for volunteers and supporters to help staff area phone banks, canvass neighborhoods, and encourage individual donations to help support local and national campaigns.

Statement of Candidacy:

I am Doris Towery from Springfield Oregon. I have been a registered Democrat from the time I could vote. My grandparents were delegates to the Democratic Convention when I was young and I always admired their passion for the party. I have worked in newspapers and endorsed many progressive candidates over the years. I am pro-choice and believe a woman’s right to choose is a human right. I have waited my entire adult life to see a woman President and I want my daughter to see that happen. I served on the Lane Transit District for 6 years and believe having a strong transportation system improves our quality of life. All of the political donations I have made over the years have been to Democrats or organizations supporting progressive democrats and progressive values. I would be honored to represent Oregon at the convention.

When you return to Oregon from the Democratic National Convention, please tell us in detail what you will do to elect Democrats up and down the ticket in November?

I would go door to door, phone bank and work to promote Democrats on the ticket in my county, state and of course for President. I would volunteer for the party in whatever role I am needed. I would also volunteer with PPAO for any work they are doing to help elect pro-choice democrats. I would also continue to promote democrats on my social media.

In 1968 my grandmother received a telegram telling her she had been chosen as a delegate for Senator Bobby Kennedy. I am thinking of my grandmother as I write this application and how she treasured that telegram and several letters from Senator Kennedy. I’d like to be part of the history of electing our first woman President.

It would be my honor to represent Oregon Democrats at this year’s convention. As Oregon’s 2014 Oregon Teacher of the Year I travelled all over the state and spoke to over 10,000 Oregonians from Gold Beach all the way up to the Gorge. I feel I understand the amazing things this state has to offer and to be a spokesperson for Oregon has been a highlight of my life.

When you return to Oregon from the Democratic National Convention, please tell us in detail what you will do to elect Democrats up and down the ticket in November?

Though the majority of my events (over 400 now!) are centered on education, I have called out Republican leaders for letting down students and I have given props to those who have stood up for education. At LGBT events and education events alike I discussed Jeff Merkley and defined him as a friend of education worthy of any Oregonian’s vote. I have not been shy to say that Democrats are the only thing standing in the way of a corporate takeover of the education system from K-College and I am ready to get out the vote!

I am a strong supporter of Hillary Clinton and her realistic approach for change. America has an excess of division and special interest and Hillary recognizes the need to bring this country back together, find common ground and build ways of wor with congress to make our government work again. Hillary has practical, workable plans for her positions, from banking to immigration and from women’s reproductive rights to building international coalitions and cooperation.

Hillary will fight to rebalance the Supreme Court; to reverse the travesty of Citizens United and stop the erosion of voting rights.

Unlike Bernie Sanders, Hillary has practical plans for change.

And, unlike Donald Trump, Hillary is fair-minded, considerate of all Americans, with experienced in building international partnerships.

Hillary is the only candidate with the skill, intelligence, and experience to lead America from day one

Help me elect Hillary Clinton to be the 45th President of the United States of America

When you return to Oregon from the Democratic National Convention, please tell us in detail what you will do to elect Democrats up and down the ticket in November?

I am old enough to remember when the Republican Party became a party of the religious right following Row vs. Wade. I am committed to whatever it takes to keep Oregon Government out of the hands of Republicans that would restrict voting rights and religious freedom of all Oregonians. I am dedicated to the pursuit of continued liberty and equal opportunity for all Oregonians.

It is a time for us all to stand against Politics of Power and demand a return to a Politics of Progress!

Statement of Candidacy:

I’m excited to run for DNC Delegate once more, after serving as Oregon’s youngest-ever DNC Delegate in 2012. Since 2012, I’ve grown a lot in and beyond politics. I was elected as Chair of the DPO Rural Caucus in 2013, was an active member of the SCC, and ran for Benton County Commissioner. I also graduated from UO with a double-major in math and public policy, managed my family farm following my father’s death, and was named one of the 11 most-inspiring Oregonians by the Meyer Memorial Trust. As many of you know, last summer I started a PhD in public policy at Georgia Tech. I’ve been very successful in my first year at Tech, serving as an external evaluator on a $20 million NSF grant and being elected as VP of the Graduate Student Body. I’ve also continued my work with the DPO, where I’m currently serving as Rural Caucus Treasurer. After supporting Hillary Clinton in Georgia for her massive Super Tuesday win, I ask for your vote to represent Oregon’s young Hillary supporters at the DNC.

When you return to Oregon from the Democratic National Convention, please tell us in detail what you will do to elect Democrats up and down the ticket in November?

As Rural Caucus Chair, I worked closely with DPO staff to improve resources and training for legislative candidates in rural Oregon. My focus has always been on growing the county parties and building the bench outside of major cities. In my new role as Rural Caucus Treasurer, I am continuing my efforts to develop and train the next generation of rural leaders in the legislature and county parties. I support Hillary because she is the candidate who will do the most to support down-ticket candidates.

First, a sincere thank you for being a vocal and active supporter of Hillary Clinton here in Oregon.

My name is Moses Ross and I am running for the position of male National Delegate from Oregon’s Third Congressional District to represent Hillary Clinton at the 2016 Democratic National Convention.

Every delegate we select must be solid, dedicated and loyal Hillary Clinton advocates. It is imperative that each delegate is able to stand up and represent, articulate and defend our candidate against the stridency of our opponent’s supporters. I am ready, willing and able to take on the arguments and misconceptions about Hillary and to make the case for her presidency.

I ask you for your support and vote. My current endorsers include Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici, State Representatives Ann Lininger, Margaret Doherty, Shemia Fagan, Barbara Smith Warner and Val Hoyle, former Hillary for Oregon director Jillian Schoene, Carol Butler, Win McCormick and many others.

As an elected Precinct Committee Person in HD 38, I will make sure my community participates in the election. As a National Delegate for HRC, I will re-double my efforts to represent, articulate and defend the positions of our presidential nominee.

Damon Isiah TurnerCD3 – Male – Portland, ORCandidate: Hillary ClintonCommunities: African American

Statement of Candidacy:

After Philadelphia, what we do across Oregon after November is key to affirming our democratic ideals within the context of an increasingly intolerant, bifurcated citizenry. Post 2012 our ability to move beyond a 30-30 impasse in the House has been vital for key legislation. In 2016, we need to expand and retain purple House and Senate Districts to counter anti-democratic approaches espoused by the presumptive nominee of the other party. The broad based tent of not only this party, but also the varied lenses throughout Oregon is vital to our social and economic growth. Connecting the smart growth policies and needs of city residents with those of rural residents, is an example.

The 2008 and 2012 elections demonstrated a next stage of democratic engagement of both supporting and holding our President accountable while also matching forces that fundamentally disagree with democracy being accessible to all.

In 2016, let us not regress either nationally or locally. Let us win – together.

When you return to Oregon from the Democratic National Convention, please tell us in detail what you will do to elect Democrats up and down the ticket in November?

First, it will be vital in Oregon to work with Democrats to align with the nominee after the Convention to defuse Primary Election tensions. Regardless of who the nominee is, I will work to unify Democrats in Oregon statewide by working with County Chairs, Precinct Committee Persons and organizational partners when engaging with voters.

Second, in competitive House and Senate races, I will work with candidates per their campaign preferences for on-the-ground canvassing or calling efforts.

Statement of Candidacy:

My name is Michael Valentine and I am running as a delegate for Hillary Clinton in district 1 and at the state level. I supported Hillary in 2008 and again this year. I just finished my Computer Science degree about a year ago and now work as a software developer. About two years ago I got married to my husband Ryan, a little over a year after the repeal of section 3 of DOMA. I have been active in politics for a little over a decade at the local and state levels, pushing for LGBT and women’s rights, and am amazingly proud of what our state has accomplished in these areas.

I hope you will select me as a delegate so that I can be part of the presidential nomination process this year. The DNC has been a hugely impactful influence for good in this country, and I want to continue supporting it’s efforts to move forward the causes of social justice and change.

When you return to Oregon from the Democratic National Convention, please tell us in detail what you will do to elect Democrats up and down the ticket in November?

I am so very proud of our state and it’s democratic leadership. I will continue pushing for democratic leadership, because I believe it is what has made Oregon one of the most economically successful and socially conscious states in America. Statement of Candidacy:

When I was still a teenager in 2001, I moved to Oregon from the Catskill Mountains of Upstate New York with less than $300 in my pocket. After fifteen years, I could not imagine living anywhere else and I am proud to call myself an Oregonian. There are many things that make our state special. Most inspiring of these are the people and our shared values of cooperation and innovation. These principles are shown at their strongest in the progressivism of Oregon’s Democrats. We have played an important role in our state’s history and will continue to shape Oregon’s future.

As someone who served in the military during the anti-LGBT era of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” I know firsthand the positive change that comes when Democrats win. Elections have deep consequences to our country as a whole and to us as individuals. That knowledge is the source of my loyalty to this party. I bring my experience, energy, and commitment and will represent Oregon with pride in Philadelphia.

When you return to Oregon from the Democratic National Convention, please tell us in detail what you will do to elect Democrats up and down the ticket in November?

In past elections, I have volunteered with the DPO’s get-out-the-vote efforts in local and statewide races and I will do so again this year. It is important to the party that we recruit more young people to these efforts. There are opportunities to expand our majorities in the state legislature and fight back right-wing ballot measures. I look forward to working with you to get out the Democratic vote and keep Oregon blue!
