Objective
The main objectives of the workshop is to equip the students with the skill set of sketching,
documenting, designing and rendering that help them deliver better outcomes from their projects.
Expected Outcomes
Achieving the most primary outcome of the curriculum – Presentation and designing skills.
Utilizing the need of the hour in the curriculum – ART STUDIO, BASIC DESIGN, and ARCHITECTURAL
DESIGN – II (Manual Rendering).
Also helps the students explore new boundaries, develop innovative design thinking and sketch
recording.
The 3 days - State Level – Architectural Rendering Workshop – “Learn to Sketch and Sketch to learn”
was initiated with the motive of nurturing the new joined students in to the field of architecture by refining
their sketching, designing and presentation skills. The workshop was announced on a state level platform and
welcomed the 1st and 2nd year students from various architectural colleges across the state.
Few students from other colleges expressed their interest by registering and also joined this 3 day
workshop. All the students were provided with a Workshop kit that contains workshop stationary (Specially
designed sketch book, pencils, drawing sheets etc)
The Workshop started with a welcome speech by Ar. B.Amulya, Asst Prof, School of Architecture. The
Expert for the day Ar.Jagadeesh Gorle was also introduced to the students. Ar. Jagadeesh Gorle, an architect
by profession and a nature enthusiast. He is closely associated to academics and has a teaching experience of
3 years at GITAM, Vizag. An extensive traveler and with an eye on evolving natural landscapes and
interlinking cultural histories, he transforms his experiences and interactions into various forms of art works.
He has a vast experience in conducting hands-on workshops at local and national platforms like speculative
sketching, perspective drawings, bamboo constructions, tessellations etc. to name a few. Mr. Jagadeesh’s
fundamental approach towards design is to incorporate research into practice and his research extends to
kinetic architecture, design pedagogy, culture and resilient landscapes. Currently as an Architect, he designed
and executed Bamboo yoga centre, various landscape projects.

The 1st day of the workshop was a introductory session to sketching which is followed by graphite
medium sketching. The second session was exploring landscape sketching in the campus and also the
students were introduced to charcoal medium.
The 2nd day of the workshop was targeted on documentation and memory drawing. The first session
of the day was planned at Undavalli caves to teach the students recording the architectural details. The
second session was about Architectural Rendering and color medium rendering.

The 3rd day of the workshop was designed to explore the design dimension of sketching. The second
session of the day was review and discussion session on the common doubts raised by students. The day was
closed by a valedictory session to the expert by presenting a certificate and memento.

Rendering
Students with best performance have been shortlisted and awarded the Certificate of Excellence. The
rest of the students were given Certificate of Participation. Faculty coordinators were also awarded the
certificate of organization.
