Jan.-Feb. 2013 Vol. VI No. 1 NGSC/NSGSC rd 3 November, 2012 at 9.30 a.m. there was a special event at Balwant Rai Mehta Vidya Mandir, Masjid Moth (G.K.II) Delhi. It was National Group Song Competition – both in Hindi and Sanskrit – at State level. Gr. Capt. S.C.Bahri was the Chief Guest and Shri I.D. Ojha, former National Working President of Bharat Vikas Parishad graced the occasion with his presence. Representatives from almost all the Branches of the State were present. 13 teams with as many items entered into a fierce talent contest. Every item was equally entertaining and show cased the best of music skill. The judges viz. S.K.Rohilla, A.V.S. Rawal and Richa Nagpal had a tough time arriving at their decision. Following was the result: The winners were awarded trophies. We congratulate the winner teams. While the team from Balwant Rai Mehta Vidya Mandir contested at Haridwar, DAV Public School will compete at Ahmedabad at National level. Bharat ko Jaano competition at State level th was held on 7 December, 2012 at DAV Model School, Yusuf Sarai. 16 teams participated in a written test and then the first 3 winning teams from each school competed at the quiz contest. and Junior level) were admitted to the quiz programme. Thus 11 senior and 13 junior level teams participated.

The Quiz Master, Dr. Piyush Anand Shama who is also the State Convener for this Project, did a marvellous job in the nearly 3 hour long programme. I thank Dr. Sharma for his effort.

Those who graced the occasion included Shri I.D. Ojha, former National Working President, BVP and Chief Advisor, BVP ( Delhi South), Shri D.N.Grover, Shri R.K. Aggarwal (both Advisors) and several office bearers of the BVP Branches across Delhi ( South) prant.

thOn 9 November 2012 Bharat Vikas Parishad Janak Puri (Main) Branch organised Bharat Ko Jano competition in 4 Schools of Janakpuri. 100 Junior & 250 Senior students participated in the Quiz contest. Eminent dignitaries present during the competition were Sh. B.L. Parashar, Branch Advisor, Sh. R. S. Aggarwal, Branch Treasurer.

Shri M. K. Wadhwa, Branch President thanked the participants, teachers, dignitaries & members. Prasad was distributed among the participants. Convener of the competition was Sh. V.S. Gupta.

'Hamara Piara Hindustan'-Music CD released:

Four such camps were organized on every Sunday of Oct'12 from 7am to 9am at Hari Mandir. 230 students from different schools participated.

Two dental camps were arranged in the adopted Sewa Basti with the active assistance of Mobile Dental Van of BVP Delhi (South). 29 were

the beneficiaries.Two teams of S.S. Mota Singh Sr. Sec. School of A Block

Janakpuri participated in NGSC and NSGSC Competitions held at stZonal Level. Both the teams stood 1 in the competitions.

A huge consignment of unused but unexpired medicines collected from various centres set up by the Branch and also contributed by Dr. (Col.) Suraj Prakash, a senior member of the Branch, were donated to 'Chakitsa Vibagh' of Sewa Bharti for distribution among the victims of Violence of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants in KOKRAJAR (Assam) refugee camps.

Those colleagues whose birthday falls in October were felicitated. Among them the senior most couple, Shri BALBIR KHANNA & Smt. SHEILA KHANNA who have witnesses 88 and 82 springs of their lives respectively were specially honoured with 'shawls' and garlands. Shri Gobind Ram Agarwal convenor “SWDESHI JAGRAN MANCH”, Delhi presented a 'BHAGWA SAROPA' and idol of 'GANESHA'. Shri O.P. CHATRATH of RSS presented copies of 'BHAGWAT GEETA' amidst a thunderous applause of the audience.

A function addressed by Sh. Dr. SHASHI PARKASH SHRIVASTVA (M.Tech. MBA) on 'Message of VIJAYADASHMI' was organized. Quoting extensively from 'Ramchrit Manas' he emphasized that in order to stem the rot which has engulfed our society, the only solution lies in talking the inspiration from the life and deeds of Bhagwan Ram. But the beginnings has to be made from ourselves. Smt. Madhu Seth proposed a vote of thanks. After light refreshment the meeting came to close.

Vimochan' of Hamara Piara Hindustan – a CD comprising 16 patriotic songs selected from 'CHETNA KE SWAR” composed and sung by Smt. Madhu Seth, was

t horganized on her birthday, 10 Sept'2012, in the overflowing hall of Ashirwad Banquet. Shri S.K. Wadhwa, Secretary General BVP was the chief guest and Smt. Shashi Azad was the Guest of Honour. The programme was also graced by Shri Mahabal Mishra (MP), Dr. Jagdish Mukhi, MLA, Shri Ashish Sood, local Councilor, Shri P.R. Sawhney, Ex. Mayor, Shri K.B. Mahajan Genl. Secy. BVP, Delhi (South) and many other dignitaries.Trainees of ongoing children Personality Development Camp presented an absorbing cultural programme. Rendering of 'Bhajan, Qawaali' and performance of 'DANDIYA' earned the maximum applause. Everyone had a word of praise for Smt. Seth. Copies of the CD were gifted to all.

Delhi (South) were organized. 19 were the beneficiaries.

4 camps were organized during November 2012. Among them closing ceremony of the Second Session of 2012-2013 was held on 11/11/2012 under patronage of Shri A.K. Ahuja an eminent Social activist was the chief guest. 70 children of 10-14 age group who have successfully completed the training presented yogic exercises, Dhyan, Bhajan and Patriotic Songs. All the seventy children were given wollen sweaters as prizes. Mrs. Madhu Seth, President of the Branch proposed a vote of thanks. Refreshment was served to one and all.

rdOn the very next Sunday ie. 18/11/2012 a camp for the 3 session was organized. Shri H.P.S. Verma, yoga teacher, explained the aims and objective of the camp. Shri S.P. Bhatia, Advisor, introduced the functionaries of the Branch to the audience and urged the participating children to take full advantage of the camp by ensuring their attendance on the subsequent Sundays.

Bharat Ko Jano test was organized in four schools by the Branch. 1038 children participated in the test.

Rs 5000/- were donated to Indraprastha Vishwa Hindu Parishad for the purchase of blankets for the victims of violence of KokraJar Distt. (Assam).

Help in the form of provision and other essential items for the marriage was given to Kumari Kanta, a needy girls of weaker section of our society R/O B-790 J.J. Colony Uttam Nagar.

Shri Guru Nanak Dev Jee Parkash Utsav and Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Balidan Divas was organized in the overflowing hall of Shri Hari Mandir. Mrs Devinder Kaur Gandhi along with her associates presented 'Shabad' related to the life and deeds of the great 'Gurus'. Brigadier Lamba, President of Guru Singh Sabha A1 Block Janakpuri in his forceful address appealed to follow the teachings of the 'Gurus' in letter and spirit to make our lives worth living. Shri S.P. Bhatia proposed a vote of thanks. After light refreshment meeting came to close.
