Present were: Jessica Armstrong, Mayor pro temp. Coun- cilpersons: Wendy Eldridge, Doug Lass, and Brandon Buck. Absent were Bob Hooper and LaVern Karsjen. Also, Boomerang, McClure, Gale Klosterman and George Tuttle attended. The meeting was called to order at 6:00 P.M. Boomerang presented a change order to put sludge in Cell 2 until fall when they could take it out and spread it on farmers land, they also, want the City to forgive liq- uidated damages they have and will con- curred. Buck motioned to reject the change order 2nd by Lass. Motion carried 3-0 McClure has asked for more money be- cause of the time Boomerang has taken to complete this project. Buck motioned to approve $60,000 2nd by Eldridge. Central Iowa Community Services Region Statement of Understanding(SOU) Renewal Discussion: Jill Eaton clarified this Statement of Understanding. Adam asked that this is just for employees and benefits. Jill clarified we have 3 employees in our county, with 11 counties in our region, and 14 regions in Iowa. Motion by Patten, second by Thomp- son, to approve the Central Iowa Commu- nity Services Employee Statement of Understanding for Marshall County Com- munity Services employees. All voted aye. 14. Motion by Thompson, second by Patten, to adopt Resolution #2019-0037, Abatement of Mobile Home Taxes. All voted aye. Full details available in the Treasurer’s office. 15. Discussion: Paul said this is our 5th JD 772G as we have very good luck with them. We are looking for another operator and they will get this new machine. Dave asked about delivery. Paul said early to mid-August. We are not trading any unit due to keeping an extra unit. Paul said if we do a major overhaul it costs us $70,000 – $75,000 which should give us another 8,000 – 10,000. Dave asked years. Paul said depends on winter, but should be at least 4 years. Motion by Patten, second by Thomp- son, to approve the purchase of a John Deere 772G Motor Grader from Murphy Tractor & Equipment in the amount of $312,500. All voted aye. 16. Discussion: Paul said this is at Durham and 140th, just north of Clemons. This is a historic bridge and is a concrete arch, so there will extra steps for historic purposes. Motion by Thompson, second by Pat- ten, to approve the contract with Calhoun- Burns and Associates Inc. for preliminary design services for Bridge D-16 in the amount of $19,030. These services will be paid with L.O.S.T. funding. All voted aye. 17. Motion by Patten, second by Thompson, to approve the HealthPartners Administrators, Inc. Claim Deviation Form and authorize the Chairman to sign. All voted aye. 18. Public Forum— Paul Geilenfeldt, County Engineer, clarified some County road projects. 19. He- roes Fund on June 22, 2019. The second annual Heroes Ride kicks off at the UnityPoint Health – Marshall- town Medical Park and will ride to Kel- log, Baxter, Collins, and State Center before returning to the American Legion Post #46 in Marshalltown. Registration for the ride starts on June 22 at 10:30 am and “kickstands up” is at 11:30 am. Regis- tration is $20 per person. Cars are wel- come as well as motorcycles. The ride will benefit the Foundation’s Heroes Fund that is expanding access to healthcare for local veterans including physical rehab services and local veteran health assessment scheduled for the fall of 2019. In addition to holding the ride, the American Legion Riders Post #46 is also raffling off a brand new Harley Davison Softail Deluxe. Proceeds will support both the Foundation’s Heroes Fund as well as local group Paws & Affect. Paws & Af- fect raises funds to provide service dogs to local veterans as well as children in need. Only 1000 tickets will be sold. Tickets are $40 per piece and will be available at the Heroes Ride. The drawing will take place a week later at the second ride hosted this summer by the American Le- gion Riders Post #46. This ride will bene- fit Paws & Affect. The American Legion Riders Post #46 “wants to do everything we can to partner with local organizations caring for the veterans in the Marshalltown area. The American Legion Riders Post #46is holding a fundraiser for UnityPointHealth – Marshalltown Foundation’s He-roes Fund on June 22, 2019. The second annual Heroes Ride kicks

off at the UnityPoint Health – Marshall-town Medical Park and will ride to Kel-log, Baxter, Collins, and State Centerbefore returning to the American LegionPost #46 in Marshalltown. Registrationfor the ride starts on June 22 at 10:30 amand “kickstands up” is at 11:30 am. Regis-tration is $20 per person. Cars are wel-come as well as motorcycles. The ride will benefit the Foundation’s

Heroes Fund that is expanding access tohealthcare for local veterans includingphysical rehab services and local veteranhealth assessment scheduled for the fall of2019.In addition to holding the ride, the

American Legion Riders Post #46 is alsoraffling off a brand new Harley DavisonSoftail Deluxe. Proceeds will support boththe Foundation’s Heroes Fund as well aslocal group Paws & Affect. Paws & Af-fect raises funds to provide service dogsto local veterans as well as children inneed.

Only 1000 tickets will be sold. Ticketsare $40 per piece and will be available atthe Heroes Ride. The drawing will takeplace a week later at the second ridehosted this summer by the American Le-gion Riders Post #46. This ride will bene-fit Paws & Affect. The American Legion Riders Post #46
