Page 1 of 2 STARTUP VISA APPLICATION FORM As a holder of a visa under the Startup Scheme you will have a number of responsibilities that will be linked to your stay under this immigration category. Coventry University (the University) will work with you to assist you in meeting these responsibilities. In order to be sponsored by the University; You agree that if you make a ‘Start Up’ visa application inside of the UK, you must do this before your current visa expires. To apply inside of the UK, you understand that your current leave must fall into an eligible category, namely Tier 1 (Graduate Entrepreneur), any category of Tier 2 or Tier 4 (General). More information can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/start-up-visa/switch-to-this-visa You agree that if you make a ‘Start Up’ visa application from outside of the UK, you will consult the International Office for advice and guidance and provide any requested evidence. You also agree to maintain contact with the University by responding to any email or telephone call that you receive from the University; You agree that you are/will be in possession of a full Coventry University degree award dated less than two years before the date of your application to the ‘Start Up’ visa. Eligible awards are restricted to full degrees, for example BA, BSc, MA, MSc, PhD. Advice on eligibility can be obtained from the International Office if your qualification is non-standard; You understand that it is your responsibility to maintain sufficient ‘maintenance’ funds in your account for the required term prior to any visa application; You will keep the Home Office and the University updated with any change of circumstances by using the information found here: https://www.gov.uk/change-circumstances-visa-brp. A list of relevant changes of circumstances can be found in the Startup Policy Guidance on the Home Office website. You will abide by all other stipulations laid down by the Home Office Immigration rules relating to your stay in the UK as a Startup visa holder; You will list Coventry University as your correspondence address on your visa application form for Coventry University, International Office, Priory Street, Coventry, West Midlands, CV1 5FB for applicants who will be based in Coventry or Coventry University London, 109-117 Middlesex Street, London E1 7JF for applicants who will be based in London. You understand that, if your Startup visa application is successful, you will be granted 24 months leave initially. Any application to switch to the Innovator visa is subject to satisfactory progress of your business and an ultimate application for settlement is subject to a range of ‘achievements’ as listed by the Home Office. Applicants should acquaint themselves with these requirements at the outset. Endorsement by Coventry University of your business idea for Startup visa in no way infers any indication that you will be able to progress to the Innovator visa and this should not be relied upon for the continuation of your business in the UK; You will complete an induction meeting with the International Office within two weeks of the grant of your Startup visa, or within 2 weeks of arriving in the UK. Failure to attend this meeting may result in the withdrawal of your sponsorship; You will set key business milestones and performance indicators and track your progress against these with the agreement of your Business Mentor - you must attend monthly progress meetings with your assigned Business Mentor/Adviser; You will give at least 48 hours’ notice if you are unable to attend a progress meeting with your Business Mentor/Adviser and reschedule your appointment to take place within 10 working days of your original appointment; You will register your business utilising the Coventry University Enterprise Hub address (either Coventry or London) as the registered address; You agree to pay the University the current charge for your service provision at the initial and 12-month anniversary of the endorsement as appropriate. This must be paid in advance and within 30 days of the induction meeting / 12-month anniversary as appropriate.

STARTUP VISA APPLICATION FORM

As a holder of a visa under the Startup Scheme you will have a number of responsibilities that will be linked to your stay under this immigration category. You understand that Coventry University is committed to ensuring you meet the conditions of your sponsorship by:

• Providing regular meetings to support your business development; • Offering additional support, where appropriate, through partner support services; • Keeping evidence of the selection process that resulted in you being giving the above endorsement, and

providing this to the Home Office if requested; • Maintaining contact with you, the Startup visa-sponsored individual, and assessing your progress at regular

intervals; • Informing the Home Office if you do not keep contact, miss one of your progress reviews without authorisation

or generally do not adhere to the terms of the Startup visa; • Informing the Home Office if Coventry University has evidence to suggest that you are in breach of the

conditions of your leave; and • Informing the Home office if you are no longer participating in the scheme.

I confirm that I understand the responsibilities, detailed above, that I must meet in order to be sponsored by Coventry University under the Startup visa scheme. I understand that if I fail to comply with any of the requirements listed the University may decide to withdraw their sponsorship and report me to the Home Office. I understand that any report to the Home Office may result in a curtailment/cancellation of my visa.

I understand that the charges for the Coventry University Incubation Programme are valid at time of application and are subject to change without notice.

I understand that the Coventry University Startup scheme is governed by the University’s Policy Document a copy of which is available on the Coventry University Group website*. I agree that I have fully read and understood the policy.

I give Coventry University permission to contact the Home Office to clarify, confirm details or facts of any and all aspects of my immigration history or status. I irrevocably consent to Coventry University making disclosures of my personal and business information to the Home Office, other Government Departments and Enforcement Agencies as required by law. I understand that my personal details may be disclosed to Coventry University staff as part of the endorsement process.
