Your assessment task…
Task:You are working the Department of Environment (DEFRA) and you have been asked to write an
important report on managing the risk of coastal erosion along the Essex Coast.
In your report you have to evaluate the following areas:-1.Evaluate and explain the threats to
the site.2.Evaluate and explain the success of
the current defences 3.Evaluate the sustainability of the
defences now and for the future.
Key points to remember!!!
Include facts, figures and pictures as evidence.
Explain in PEE (point, explain, evidence) paragraphs whenever you can.
Your report should be no longer than 3 sides of A4 paper.
Use the levelling mark scheme throughout the write up.
Sustainable?
Sustainable – development meeting the needs of people now and in the future, limiting harm to the environmentShow your understanding of how people, the environment and the economy are inextricably linked at all levels from local to global. Think about how the coastal erosion affected people, the environment and the economy at a local and other scales. What the impacts are and who will benefit and who will lose depending on the coastal management you recommend.
