With such a great response we decided to share a few more comparisons.

HAVE TAX BASE, WILL TRAVEL...IN STYLE Politicians travel. It’s often part of the job. But some don’t travel like the average Albertan taxpayer who voted them into office. They travel, and stay, in style. Here are just a few of the bills Redford racked up that ultimately led to her resignation.
* On March 12, Redford paid back the cost of her trip to South Africa. It wasn’t enough; her approval rating dropped to 18%.
“The Premier should start by working to end the perception that she would rather be anywhere other than Alberta. The many trips, both for government business and personal time, are enough to make people wonder just how much she actually likes being in the province.”
While on vacation in April 2013, Premier Redford had a government jet pick up her, her daughter and two bodyguards to attend Ralph Klein’s funeral.
Premier Redford ran up this bill flying from Edmonton to Ottawa on a Government of Alberta jet to catch a ride to South Africa on the federal government’s jet.
After attending Mandela’s funeral, the Premier skipped a free ride home with Prime Minister Harper and booked her own flight, for $10,000. Another $20,000 was spent to fly aide Brad Stables round trip to South Africa.
In January, Premier Redford took an entourage on a trade mission to India. On her way back, she stopped in Davos, Switzerland to listen to a speech by Al Gore.
Redford assistant Brad Stables stuck Albertans with this bill at the Fairmont Hotel MacDonald in Edmonton. Stables stays in luxury when he travels from his home…in Calgary.
$9,200
What can $9,200 buy? What can $15,000 buy?The chart below shows how many weeks of wages could have been paid with the money spent on hotel bills for Premier Redford’s assistant at the Fairmont Hotel MacDonald in Edmonton, or her flight from Palm Springs, California.
A years’ worth of groceries for a five-person family. Or maybe you’re in the market a new car.
