Pig Launching

Pigging in the maintenance of pipelines refers to the practice of using Pipeline Inspec-

Pigs are used to clean the pipes as a result of corrosion problems including pitting and

scaling and removal of troublesome deposits such as black powder, liquids and waxes.

Smart Pigs gather data on the condition of the pipeline itself, for instance, pipe thick-

ness, cracks, corrosion, leaks and other faults that require immediate attention.

Stark Transportation and Pipeline Services is the only company that delivers pipeline

pigs to a designated destination and facilitates the entire process of launching and

As a turnkey provider, we assess what it will take to get the pig into the line. Our

operators look for hazards and overcome obstacles and do so with the utmost

safety. We are committed to helping clients overcome their biggest challenges,

turnkey; from the beginning of the project through to its completion.

A major advantage of pigging is the potential savings of time, labor and money. A

GPS device marks and surveys the pipeline to determine where to place each Timer

pipeline. The continuous calculation of this tracking data tells the client exactly where
