Another website that has been chosen is an interactive learning to read
website that offers short stories, comics and games in a fun manner. The website is
(http://www.starfall.com/index.htm) with the slogan “Where children have fun learning
to read!”. This site focuses on teaching children how to read.
The website offers mailing system for the users such as parents or educators
to give feedback to the site’s admin (attachment). It also contains short stories and
stories from different countries and region, which serves the users that, may have
come from different part of the world. The books are grouped in its own genre and
the purpose of the user so that it is easy to browse it. Genres of the books vary to
folktales, Greek myths, fiction, non-fiction, Chinese fables, poetry and even comics

with.
What was liked on the website is, it is colourful (attachment) and fun to use,
plus it is easy to use. The website is a very good interactive website that could
actually fulfil its purpose of teaching children to read. There are features such as
read-aloud section, graphic animation, printable exercises, reading and writing
games (attachment). The website is a surprise for those who may not know how to
use it, because the first page may seems like a common old website. Once used, the
website actually offers more than what was first expected of the website. Even
though the website was fun, there was a little problem with the pronunciation, such
as that it could have happen because the speaker is probably little children.
Teachers could use the website when doing reading activities such reading aloud,
playing the games and the usage of technologies in classroom environment. When
in a classroom, the teacher can show the website to the pupils and use it with them.
While doing the activities, the teacher can print out the printable activity sheet and
use it together (attachment).
