Literacy & Numeracy - Specialist support teachers provide additional sessions to students who require assistance to maintain target levels. In addition, class teachers provide additional teaching sessions and differentiated curriculum to support these students and others who are still not confident with their literacy or numeracy skills.!

Why a SAKG?; Not all Australian children eat well. A disturbing number go to school each day without breakfast. !

Nearly a third of Australian children are overweight or obese. Poor food choices lead to poor health, the obesity epidemic is the public health issue of our time.!

Children are as responsive to positive food experiences as they are to negative ones. We set out to create those positive experiences. !

Extend literacy and numeracy learnings into the garden and the kitchen and provide physical, outdoor activity. !

86% of teachers reported improvements in students’ teamwork skills and 50% of parents reporting improvements across a range of student behaviours, including managing difficult behaviour, interacting with people of many ages, leadership skill development and sense of pride in the school.

Fund Raising Focus Our 2014 fundraising efforts are targeted at improving some of the less inviting playground areas, and creating spaces where children can play in different ways that can support and enhance their education – sometimes physical, sometimes in quieter and more reflective ways.!

Physical - Children explore movements and ways to combine movements — running and playing ball, jumping, climbing, dancing, moving on an obstacle course.!

Games with rules - Children follow or create rules to reach a shared objective in a game.!

Exploratory - Children explore the properties and functions of materials, equipment and objects.!

Manipulative - Children manipulate and explore objects, parts and materials.!

Dramatic - Children take on roles within pretend games about familiar experiences.!

Fantasy - Children create props and use these as they engage in fantasy adventures.
