STANLEY VISITS POWASSAN

Stanley arrived in the mail to our house in Powassan on June 4th.

We enjoyed sitting in the sun together.

We took Stanley on a tour of our town.

Knowlton Ridge is a beautiful riding stable in the town. Stanley got to see the horses.

We took Stanley to the Park which has a ball diamond, playground area and

outdoor pool.

We have an arena and curling club. Our minor hockey teams are called the hawks

and our junior team are the dragons.

We visited Memorial Park which is on the main street

In case Stanley felt sick we showed him the medical centre. It has doctors, a dentist, and all the other people to help us stay

healthy.

We drove past the Grocery store.

Other places- two drug stores- hardware store- flower shop- Ray’s fun room- Hair dressers- Bank- Post office - Video rental store- Beer store- Liquor store- Service station- Laundry matt- Golf course

We showed Stanley were the Farmer’s Market is on Saturdays.

Our community is surrounded by many farms and farmland.

Just like Bracebridge, Powassan has many animals too. In Powassan you can see bunnies, bears, birds, wild turkeys, deer, moose, cats and many other things. Stanley was able to meet our two dogs, Bo and Belle.

• In April we have a maple syrup festival.

• In September we have a huge fall fair.

Stanley enjoyed his tour of the town but he was tired so we drove him home.

We all said good bye to Stanley and placed him in his envelope to head back to Ella Moore and her class.
