Stara Zagora-town found 8000 years ago,

town with ancient history and rich culture,town survived many wars and survived many fires.

Town with 8 names: Beroe, Avgusta Trajana, Irinipolis, Borui, Vereya, Eski Zaara, Zheleznik and Stara Zagora.

Stara Zagora - the town with straight streets, poets and lime-trees.

This is my town!

Stara Zagora is the sixth largest city located in southern Bulgaria and one of the main economic centers in Bulgaria.

Population – 150 679 Area – 85,786 km2

The symbols of Stara Zagora

Stara Zagora Opera is the second in Bulgaria. Founded on 27/02/1925. In 1991 fire destroyed the building of the opera. Burnt are priceless scenery, costume, crystal chandeliers, specially imported from Italy. The state also could not help the opera and leave the building is buried in ruins for more than 10 years. According to the plan in late 2008 of the State Opera building should open doors, but it officially

opened on 5.10.2010.

Drama theatre “Geo Milev”

The "Augusta Traiana" is - the oldest amphitheater in

Bulgaria. Carries one of the names of the city. The forum

of ancient Roman town Avgusta Trajana

is arheological object in central part of Stara Zagora town. The object has been

found after construction workin courthous's teritory in

town.

Created in 1979, it can be seen two houses of the Neolithic in the territory

of Stara Zagora. He is one of the hundred tourist sites.

       In specially designed buildings are represented by the Neolithic dwellings along with their full

equipment - ovens for baking bread, hand mills for grinding grain, pottery

and more. The museum is set permanent exhibition "Prehistoric Art

in Stara Zagora. According to the description of the historical museum

in Stara Zagora dwellings of VI century BC and are the best preserved

and the most extensive inventory in Europe.

The regional historic museum in Stara Zagora is among the oldest museums and among the biggest in Europe

It is treasuring over 120,000 monuments of the culture. The first exposure was showed in 1907.

On September 2007 the museum was moved in new building.On March 2009 the museum's new building was opened officially to visitors and the

building was awardet for building of the year.

Samara Flag Monument was built near Stara Zagora in the

memorial complex "Defenders of Stara Zagora. Memorial can be seen from almost anywhere in

the city. It was built to celebrate the 100 anniversary of Russo-

Turkish War

Park Ayasmo

Ayazmo or "Metropolit Metodii Kusev" park is the first city park from european type in Bulgaria.

It is located of 3200 dekkers area in north direction of town and there are arranged unique woody kinds for Bulgaria.
