Turbine Meter ParametersAccuracy is a measure of how close to true or actual flow the instrument indication may be. It is generallyexpressed as a percent of true volume for a specific flow range. This is a "worst case" rating. Accuracy at aparticular flow rate may be an order of magnitude better than "rated flow range accuracy."

Resolution is a measure of the smallest increment of total flow that can be individually recognized. Highresolution is generally required only on meters handling the sale of products which must be periodically proved,or on meters for control purposes. Electro-magnetic turbine meters have an inherently high resolution.

Repeatability is a meter's ability to indicate the same reading each time the same flow conditions exist.Turbine meters exhibit excellent repeatability and, for many control applications, this parameter is moreimportant than accuracy or resolution.

Range is the ratio of maximum flow to minimum flow over which the specified accuracy will be maintained.

Accurate Measurement ExplainedAs the gas flow enters the meter inlet, it is guided through a flow area created by the inside diameter of themeter and the outside diameter of the flow deflector. The flow deflector or nose cone is used to increase thevelocity of the gas to prepare its entry to the meter rotor. The increase in velocity provides ample rotor drivingforce.

After the flowing gas has been accelerated, it flows through the meter rotor. The rotor is designed with aspecific number of blades positioned at a precise angle to the flow stream. The gas impinges on the rotorblades causing the rotor to rotate. The angular velocity of the rotor is directly proportional to the gas velocityand consequently to the volumetric flow rate.

Hence, by accurately measuring the rotor rotation, the volumetric flow can be determined.

The Daniel Gas Turbine Meter is furnished with two magnetic pick ups which sense the rotation of the rotorthrough accurately positioned magnets in the rotor hub. As the magnet passes the coil it produces a voltagepulse which represents a discrete unit of volume. The turbine meter output is rated in pulses per unit volume.

Daniel offers two independent, isolated pick ups which can be used with the Daniel local totalizer and/or flowinstrumentation capable of accepting inputs of pressure, temperature, and density transducers for calculationsof corrected flow or mass.

Four Ways of Meter ProvingSPIN TESTA spin test of the gas turbine meter rotor does not represent absolute proof over the entire range of the meter, but onlyan indication of its accuracy in the lower range. A spin test is conducted and recorded on the gas turbine meterspecification sheet by Daniel prior to shipment, but another test is advised before installation. Be sure to record the spintime of this test for future reference. Conduct the spin test in a relatively draft-free environment or by blocking off back ofinner housing.

These spin down times and their respective calibration curves represent an example of a typical 4" gas turbine meterand indicate the loss due to friction in bearings. If friction is indicated by unsuitable spin down time, the bearings shouldbe replaced.

CRITICAL FLOW PROVERS--ORIFICE/VENTURIA critical flow prover is a constriction type flow meter in which the phenomenon of critical flow occurs as the gas velocityin the throat of the meter is accelerated to equal the velocity of sound in the pipe at operating conditions. Critical flowprovers are of two types--the critical flow orifice prover and the critical flow venturi prover.

The critical flow prover test method has the advantage of the meter being tested under the same conditions andconfiguration that it normally operates.

Page 15: Standard Capacity Gas Turbine Meter Brochure - Emerson Daniel... · Standard Capacity Gas Turbine Meter Brochure ... A spin test of the gas turbine meter rotor does not ... Daniel

The critical flow orifice prover is used to test gas turbine meters at operating pressures of 15 psig or more. Flow ispassed through the meter and the orifice, then discharged into the atmosphere.

The critical flow venturi prover also is used to test gas turbine meters at 15 psig or more. The venturi is installed as an"in-line" device so that gas flows through the meter, through the venturi, then back into the pipeline. There is no loss ofgas due to venting, no high noise levels, and no hazardous conditions. The venturi outlet section is designed to recover90-95% of the critical pressure loss.

TRANSFER PROVERTransfer proving consists of meter calibration by means of a transfer or master meter. In transfer proving, the mastermeter and the test meter are piped in series. A selected volume of gas is simultaneously passed through both meters, and their registration is observed. The observations (registrations) are then corrected for any temperature and pressuredifferences between the two meters. A percentage error is determined for any flowing conditions by installing the mastermeter in the pipeline with the test meter or at atmospheric conditions by installing the test meter in series with the mastermeter and utilizing a portable blower to provide the volume through the two meters.

Two devices which can be used as master meters in transfer proving are the gas turbine meter and the orifice meter. Ofthe two devices, the master gas turbine meter provides a system that is simple, accurate, repeatable, fast, and requiresless additional instrumentation.

Overrange and Maintenance

OVERRANGEThe gas turbine meter is a velocity (rate) sensing device. Extreme gas velocity encountered duringpressurizing, venting, and purging of meter tube or system can cause severe damage due to sudden andsevere overranging. All such operations should be conducted under controlled conditions in order to maintainmeter accuracy and trouble free service.

NOTE: The Daniel Gas Turbine Meter is designed to accept gradual 25% overranging surges during normaloperation. It can withstand a gradual 100% overranging, but internals will suffer accelerated deterioration.

MAINTENANCEA maintenance manual is supplied with each Daniel Gas Turbine Meter.

APPLICATIONSDaniel Gas Turbine Meters are applicable to wide flow ranges, fluctuating flows, and to extend the range ofexisting meter stations. This versatility and its accuracy make the Daniel Gas Turbine Meter a popularmeasurement device for:

Benefits of a PreamplifierA turbine metering system will usually consist of several elements--the turbine meter, the readout instrument, and the interconnecting cable (when the readout instrument is not directly mounted on the meter). Theinterconnecting cable may be as short as 2 of 3 feet (approx. 1 meter) or as long as 5,000 feet (approx. 1500meters), using Belden 8770 or 9460 Type Cable terminated into Daniel equipment. A turbine meter pickup coilwith the sensitivity to provide an accurate pickup of turbine rotor travel has the electrical characteristics of highimpedance and low voltage output. But, electrical noise-free pulse transmission requires the opposite lowimpedance and high voltage. This is the function of the signal preamplifier. Located only inches (millimeters)from the coil, it amplifies and strengthens the turbine meter output for reliable connection to various readoutinstruments.

1. INTRODUCTIONThe Weston Technology Universal Preamplifier (Preamp) converts the low level signalfrom a turbine meter inductive pickup to high level pulses. It is distinguished by thefollowing features:

• Tailored Frequency Response

The sensitivity of the Preamp rolls off as frequency increases, matching thecharacteristic output of a turbine meter with inductive pickup. High sensitivity at lowfrequencies allows the turbine meter to operate at its lowest possible flow rates.Reduced sensitivity at high frequencies prevents spurious counting due to RFI andtransients.

• Common Mode Rejection

The Preamp employs a differential amplifier, which responds only to differencesbetween the COIL+ and COIL- wires. Spurious signals such as 60Hz, RFI, or transientstypically appear on both wires as “common mode” signals. The Preamp is hundreds oftimes less sensitive to common mode signals than to the “normal mode” signalsproduced by the meter.

• Dual Outputs

With its dual outputs, the Preamp works with virtually any end device. One outputswings from 0V to 5V regardless of the power supply voltage, and is suited for mostinputs with thresholds of 4V or less. An open collector output swings from 0V to anyavailable power supply voltage up to 36V, sinking up to 50mA.

• Wide Power Supply Range, Low Power Operation

The Preamp operates with any power supply voltage from 5.4 to 36V and requires lessthan 1mA. It can be added to virtually any system without special power conditioning, and typically with no impact on power system requirements.

• Bullet-Proof I/O

The Preamp tolerates continuous short circuits to ground or up to ±36V on any fieldwiring terminal without damage. All field wiring terminals are protected against ESD(electrostatic discharge) and transients.

• Rugged and Convenient Packaging

The Preamp is fully encapsulated in a compact package suitable for mounting on apanel or in a standard 3” ID explosion-proof housing. Pluggable cage-clamp typeconnectors allow convenient, reliable connections without the need for lugs. Terminalsare labeled with signal names to simplify installation.

REVISION 1.1 3/31/98 Page 3 of 13

2. FIELD WIRINGThe Preamp has six field wiring terminals, designated as follows:

J1 SIGNAL DESCRIPTION1 PWR Power supply input (5.4 to 36VDC)2 COMMON Power supply and signal return3 0-5V OUT Signal output which swings from 0V to 5V4 OC OUT Open collector output which swings from 0V to a pullup voltage5 COIL+ Connects to one side of the pickup coil6 COIL- Connects to the other side of the pickup coil. If polarity is not

indicated for the coil, COIL+ and COIL- are interchangeable.

Field wiring connects to a pluggable cage-clamp type connector. The connectoraccepts wire sizes from 24AWG to 14AWG, with a recommended strip length of ¼”.

The Preamp conditions the low-level output of the meter/pickup coil and produces acorresponding high-level output for an end device (the end device is a readout, flowcomputer, PLC, or other device which acquires the meter output). Where possible, thePreamp should be located close to the meter. Use twisted-pair wiring if the cablebetween the pickup coil and Preamp is longer than a few feet. Do not run the pickupcoil wiring together with other wiring which may cause interference, such as 120VAC orsignals which switch high voltage or current levels. Refer to section 3 of this documentfor installations where high levels of EMI (electromagnetic interference) may be present.

There are two basic wiring configurations used between the Preamp and the enddevice. Figure 1 below shows the preferred configuration, using the Preamp 0-5Voutput. In this configuration, the end device receives a signal which swings nominallyfrom 0V to 5VDC. Use this configuration if the end device has a threshold of 4.2V orless and input current of 0.5mA or less. The 0-5V output is preferred because it issimpler to use and dissipates less power.

The OC OUT FET is turned on when the 0-5V output is at the 5V level. When the FETis turned on, OC OUT is connected to COMMON through a resistance of less than 10ohms. When the FET is turned off (0-5V output at the 0V level), OC OUT is essentiallyan open circuit. A single power supply can provide both power and the pullup voltage.Note that while the pullup voltage has the same range as the power supply voltage, thetwo do not have to be the same. For example, the power supply may be 12V and thepullup voltage 24V, or vice-versa.

2.1 Choosing a Pullup ResistorA pullup resistor is required when using the OC output. A 2K ohm, 3W resistor willserve most applications. Some rudimentary analysis is necessary to identify theoptimum resistor for a given application. A qualified engineer or technician shouldreview the selection to ensure compliance with Preamp and end device specifications.

The OC output is conservatively rated to sink a maximum of 50mA. This sets a lowerlimit on the pullup resistor value versus the power supply voltage, as illustrated in Figure3 below.

Figure 3: Pullup Resistor Parameters

The right axis in Figure 3 shows the power dissipation through the pullup resistor.Locate the resistance value on the left axis then find the corresponding powerdissipation directly across from the resistance value. For example, at 24V the minimumpullup resistor value is 480 ohms and the power dissipation is 1.2W. The pullupresistor should be rated for at least 2-3 times this value. Normal power dissipationaverages half the indicated value when the output is switching, but if the meter stopsturning or is disconnected, the OC output may remain in a state where dissipation iscontinuous.

A practical upper limit on the pullup resistor value is dictated by output rise time. Whenthe FET turns off, the pullup resistor causes OC OUT to rise toward the pullup voltage.Rise time is how long it takes for OC OUT to go from 10% to 90% of the pullup voltageafter the FET turns off. The corresponding value, fall time, measures the time for OCOUT to go from 90% to 10% of the pullup voltage when the FET turns on. Fall time isalways much less than rise time, and is not affected by the pullup resistor value.

For most applications, rise time depends on the pullup resistor value, cable length, andend device input capacitance. An end device input designed to accept “high-speed”

Figure 4: Rise Time vs. Cable Length (2K Pullup)

Every 6nF of end device input capacitance is equivalent to 100 feet of additional cablelength when using Figure 4. For pullup resistor values other than 2K ohms, or for cablelengths not shown in the chart, use the following formula:

tR = 0.12 * R * L where

tR is the predicted rise time in uSR is the pullup resistor value in K ohmsL is the cable length in feet

The maximum acceptable rise time depends on the end device input characteristicsand the highest expected signal frequency. Consult the end device documentation todetermine if a maximum rise time is specified for the input used with OC OUT.

The maximum rise time allowed should be the lesser of 1) the end device rating, and 2)the value given by the following calculation:

Page 46: Standard Capacity Gas Turbine Meter Brochure - Emerson Daniel... · Standard Capacity Gas Turbine Meter Brochure ... A spin test of the gas turbine meter rotor does not ... Daniel

REVISION 1.1 3/31/98 Page 7 of 13

tMAX = 0.3 / f where

tMAX is the maximum acceptable rise time in Sf is the maximum turbine meter output frequency in Hz

For example, if the maximum frequency expected from the meter is 4KHz, the rise timeshould not exceed 0.3 / 4000 = 75uS. Referring to Figure 4, we see that the maximumcable length for 75uS rise time with a 2K pullup is about 300 feet. If we need to use1000 feet of cable, we can calculate the required pullup resistance using the followingformula:

RP = 2 * L1 / L2 where

RP is the new pullup value in K ohmsL1 is the length from Figure 4L2 the desired length

From the above formula, we determine that RP = 2 * 300 feet / 1000 feet = 0.6K or 600ohms. We refer to Figure 3 and determine that the maximum allowable pullup voltagewith a 600 ohm resistor is 30V. If our application uses a pullup voltage of 12V, thepower dissipation of the pullup resistor is E2 / R = 122 / 600 = 0.24W. A 600 ohm 1Wpullup resistor is a conservative choice. Average power dissipation of the pullupresistor during operation will be 0.24W / 2, or 0.12W.

3. INSTALLATIONMount the Preamp inside a building or enclosure where it is not directly exposed toweather, as close as practical to the meter. If the Preamp will be exposed to significantsources of EMI, such as high-powered mobile radios or other nearby transmitters, thePreamp should be installed in a junction box which is mounted directly on the turbinemeter as shown in Figure 5 below.

Figure 5: Recommended Mounting

All wiring to the end device (PWR, GND, and 0-5 OUT or OC OUT) should be routedthrough conduit in environments where high levels of EMI are expected.

4. ELECTRICAL CHARACTERISTICSAll specifications apply over the operating temperature range unless otherwiseindicated.

4.1 Power SupplyThe Preamp requires a DC power source to operate. The power supply positive outputconnects to the PWR terminal on the Preamp. The power supply return connects to thePreamp COMMON terminal. The COMMON terminal serves as a return path for power,0-5 OUT, and OC OUT.

Power Supply Voltage (DC, operating) 5.4V min36V max

Power Supply Current 0.7mA typ1mA max

4.2 Coil InputThe two pickup coil leads connect to the Preamp COIL+ and COIL- terminals. The coilmay have a third lead, typically connected to the coil housing. Do not connect this leadto the Preamp. The coil leads are interchangeable. Each coil input tolerates up to ±36V relative to COMMON. The total voltage between COIL+ and COIL- should notexceed 36V.

Refer to Section 4.5 for a discussion of the coil input frequency response.

4.3 0 to 5V OutputThe 0-5 OUT terminal swings between 0V and 5V nominally, at the same rate as thesignal from the pickup coil. If no signal is present at the coil input, the output is stableat either 0V or 5V.

0-5 OUT Voltage (low) 0V min0.5V max

0-5 OUT Voltage (high) 5.0V typ (no load)4.8V typ (0.5mA load)4.2V min5.5V max

0-5 OUT Current (low) 0.5mA max0-5 OUT Current (high) -0.5mA max

If 0-5 OUT is connected to a power source due to a wiring error, the output may sinkseveral amps for a few milliseconds before the protection circuit activates. After a fewmilliseconds, if the fault is still present, 0-5 OUT will stabilize at about 20mA. Theoutput returns to normal operation within seconds after the fault is removed.

4.4 Open Collector OutputThe OC OUT terminal actually uses an open-drain configured FET (Field EffectTransistor). When 0-5 OUT is high, the FET is turned on, and when 0-5V is low, theFET is turned off.

OC OUT Leakage < 10uA typ0.1mA max

OC OUT Resistance (on) 5 ohms typ (25° C)10 ohms max

OC OUT Pullup Voltage 36V maxOC OUT Pullup Current 50mA max

OC OUT should connect to a power source through a pullup resistor. The resistorvalue must be selected to limit pullup current to 50mA or less. Refer to Section 2.1 forinformation about choosing a pullup resistor. If OC OUT is connected directly to apower source due to a wiring error, the output may sink several amps for a fewmilliseconds before the protection circuit activates. After the protection circuit activates,if the fault is still present, OC OUT will stabilize at about 20mA. The output returns tonormal operation within seconds after the fault is removed.

4.5 Frequency ResponseThe output of the turbine meter pickup coil is approximately a sine wave. For a givenfrequency, the turbine meter output must reach a minimum amplitude in order for thePreamp to respond accurately. If the signal is below this minimum amplitude, thePreamp may not respond at all, or it may drop pulses on its output. If the signal equalsor exceeds this minimum amplitude, the Preamp output will correspond to the inputsignal.

Figure 7 shows the minimum input amplitude versus frequency for the Preamp. Thecurve is produced by a simple formula: Amplitude = (0.06 * Frequency) + 1. Amplitudeis expressed in mVrms, and frequency is expressed in Hertz.

Alignment of Meter TubesTHE DANIEL METHOD OF ALIGNING METER TUBESAccurate measurement demands proper alignment of turbine meter flanges with meter tube flanges. Properalignment throughout the metering section will prevent offsets, steps, and gasket protrusion into the bore, all ofwhich could disturb the flow pattern.

On all meters and tubes with raised face flanges, Daniel drills three knock-out dowel pin holes in each flange toaid in alignment.

After bolt-up, dowel pins should be removed and the holes packed with grease.

Page 56: Standard Capacity Gas Turbine Meter Brochure - Emerson Daniel... · Standard Capacity Gas Turbine Meter Brochure ... A spin test of the gas turbine meter rotor does not ... Daniel

Recommended Piping LayoutsRECOMMENDED PIPING LAYOUTS

Maximum accuracy of a turbine meter requires that the fluid stream be free of rotational components. For best results, it isrecommended that the meter be equipped with adequate upstream fluid straightening devices. Flow control valves should belocated downstream of the meter.

Test results have shown that the normal installation ("A" above) is suitable for most installations encountered in meter stationdesigns. The use of straightening vanes is recommended and they should be installed at a minimum of five pipe diametersupstream of the turbine meter inlet.

For maximum accuracy in uncertain installations ("B" above), meter tube lengths as recommended in the AGA GasMeasurement Committee Report No. 7 for turbine meters will provide a safe standard.

Both installations recommend the use of a critical flow control orifice. This orifice provides a controlling restriction for the gasturbine meter, limiting its possible overrange to approximately 25% over maximum rating.

NOTE: A critical flow control orifice creates a high differential pressure resulting in 50% permanent pressure loss at 25% overmaximum operating range of the turbine meter.

Strainers (Cone and Basket)

STRAINERS (Cone and Basket)Daniel offers Cone-type Strainers which are installed in the spool section upstream of the meter tube. Thesestrainers are designed to catch heavy particles in the flow line and have 1/8" diameter perforations on 3/16"centers. Daniel also offers a Basket-type Strainer which allows ease of access during maintenance. Thesestrainers are installed adjacent to the spool section upstream of the meter tube and are available in all ratings.

An Optional Graphics LCD display, viewable through a window on the front of the unit, provideslocal display of instantaneous and previous day data.

A Class I, Division 1 hazardous location approval for the Series 3405 is available (StandardConfiguration is for General Purpose Use Only). This U.L./C SA listing includes both systemsand entity approvals. Remote communications (radio, dial-up, cellular, etc.) with a Series 3405in a Division 1 area is accomplished through the Modem interface Module which mounts in anadjacent non-hazardous area and provides intrinsically safe power and an optically isolatedRS-232 interface to the Series 3405.

The Series 3405 Provides an RS-232 Modbus link to the Ultrasonic which polls specific dataregisters for giving a frequency output to other end devices. The frequency output comes fromthe TYPE 2 IOU card. The frequency is scaled for a maximum of one KHZ with the voltageoutput being an open collector opto isolated type (max.12mA at 24VDC). The 3405 polls theaccumulated volume registers as they become available from the Ultrasonic meter( 4 to 5seconds). This volume block is broken up as to provide a continuos frequency stream based ona maximum output of 1 Khz. This method is basically a "frequency continuous volume totalizer".Each pulse represents a single uncorrected cubic foot of volume. The capability for applying anoutput "K factor" will multiply this value to the current output frequency. Volumes can becalculated using AGA7/AGA8 1992 when connected to a pressure and temperature transmitter.

Series 3000

The Series 3000 flow computer is designed to measure and control the flow of natural gas orliquids. Thismeasurement can be from a PD, turbine, or an orifice meter. Current applicationscan provide single, dual, and triple meter tube configurations. Any 3000 RTU's can beexpanded from a single IOU card (I/O termination's)tomultiple cards for much largerinstallations. The basic single IOU card configuration has two RS-232 serial portsand oneparallel port. These communication ports can be configured to bring in data from a gaschromatograph, remote data retrieval, and local operator (technician) use. The Series 3000 iscertified by U.L. for use in a Class I, Division 1, Group D hazardous location. Data retrieval, when configured for remote access, can be accomplished by cellular radio, UHF & VHF radio, and Dial-Up land line modems. The 3000 has extremely low power requirements and canoperate using solar or AC/DC charging systems. When sizing a communication power system, the 3000 can be connected to the 12VDC battery with only a 40mA drain. This techniquereduces initial cost, eliminates a second power system, and simplifies installation andmaintenance. Daniel has Series 3000 systems installed from Michigan to Argentina. Most ofthese systems are solar powered with radio communications.

Product Overview

SOLARFLOW PLUSTHE BATTERY POWERED RTU

Solarflow-Plus: A Battery Powered RTU (Remote Terminal Unit) With Flexible Calculation and AdvancedCommunication Capabilities

When power is unavailable or unreliable, consider a Solarflow-Plus RTU for your flow-measurement system.Replace mechanical circular charts with this versatile microprocessor. Eliminate maintenance costs andcalibration problems of mechanical charts. Speed the collection of more accurate data for faster operationalcontrol and billing with its flexible capability for interfacing via telephone, cellular telephone, radio, satellite, fiberoptics, or other communications media.

Built for typical outdoor, remote installations and environmentally tested at the factory, Solarflow-Plus unitsprovide maximum measurement and communications versatility in a cost-effective package. We invite you toexamine the additional details in the rest of this brochure about the battery powered RTU for your remote flowmeasurement and data communication needs.

COMMUNICATIONS

Solarflow-Plus RTU capabilities match any existing or new communication links. Including speech!

Auto-dial alarm callout activates speech synthesizing circuits for verbal reports to the operator via telephone, digitally to a remote printer, or to a central computer. The RTU can also be queried directly from a touch-tonetelephone keypad to produce "verbal" response for immediate and easy-to-understand third-party reports.Third-party reports can also be displayed by a "dumb" terminal or printer.

Our Daniel specialists can tailor communication protocols to integrate with your existing or planned SCADAsystems. Or we can help you design completely new networks. Our optional protocol is Gould Modbus; otherscan be quickly implemented. The Solarflow-Plus RTU can be integrated into telephone, cellular telephone, radio, satellite, or fiber-optics communication systems.

Longitudinal Redundancy Check (LRC-16) techniques assure data integrity to or from a Solarflow-Plus unit.

INPUTS

One of the important benefits you can enjoy with a Solarflow-Plus system is measurement flexibility to meetyour current and future needs. Standard input configurations include:

stacked or single DP for orifice●

parallel orifice●

triple-run single DP●

parallel or single turbine or PD meters●

with temperature, pressure and specific gravity correction if desired. Nine status inputs are available formonitoring on-site conditions.

CALCULATIONS/OUTPUTS

AGA 7, AGA 3 and full NX19 calculations are made on-site based on transmitter samples every 1/2 second. Each factor is calculated directly from the AGA equations from every ten seconds to once a minute, dependingon the application. These calculations are at a much faster rate than the less accurate hourly updates currentlyavailable.

The Solarflow-Plus memory stores up to 35 days of hourly data on volume, differential pressure or meterpulses, flowing temperature and alarms. Parameters logged are operator programmable. Solarflow-Plus unitscan produce a new log every time a critical parameter changes. For example, if an orifice plate is changed, measurements immediately after the change will be accurate rather than having to wait for the next loggingperiod before the new plate diameter is used in calculations.

Time, pressure and temperature indices, formerly derived from charts, can be produced thus providing asmooth transition from charts to electronic flow measurement. Solarflow-Plus systems offer complete audittrails plus a wide range of data logging intervals including 5, 15, or 30 minutes and 1, 4, and 24 hours as wellas monthly.

All data can be quickly, accurately, and reliably transmitted to your central computer via virtually any fieldcommunication technique. Similarly, parameter logging intervals and alarms/reports configurations can bequickly downloaded from a host to the Solarflow-Plus RTU.

Data transmission is most rapid with a direct link from filed to office. However, you can let a Hand-Held DataTerminal (HHDT) "dump" to a printer or host computer direct or via telephone modem when this format isadvantageous for you.

Each HHDT can collect up to 35 days of hourly data from up to 7 Solarflow-Plus units, up to 30 with expandedHHDT memory. Even more units can be downloaded if less than 35 days information is required or timeintervals are longer than hourly.
