    Stage Description:

    Te 2013 Sadlers Alaska Challenge starts with a dicult opening time trial that begins at Lake Hood and heads South on to the ony Knowles Coastalrail, nally nishing with a steep climb in to Kincaid Park.

    Stage Description:

    Aer a transport to Fairbanks, Stage 2 utilizes the traditional stage rom Ester to Nenana. Tis stage is not or the timid, and the long, steep climbs onthe way out o Fairbanks will test climbing prowess o the entire eld.

    Look or big time gaps to open up in the general classication aer the nish o this challenging stage.

    2013 Sadlers Alaska ChallengeTursday July 18Stage 3: Nenana to Healy (Road Race, point-to-point)Distance: 51 miles / 82 km

    Stage Description:

    Another traditional stage awaits the racers as they depart rom Nenana. Consistent elevation gain will test the endurance o all the racers, and it ishighly unusual or the wind to be calm during this stage.

    Athletes who have not put in the proper training will sufer on this stage, and the one mile climb to the nish is one o the toughest in the entire event.

    Stage Description:

    Te rst o two stages on the day ofers the riders a spectacular look inside Denali Park as they embark on an out and back journey against the clock.

    With two stages on this day, recovery will be the key, and athletes who can post a good time trial time, but also leave enough uel in the tank or theaernoon race will nish the day high in the general classication.

    Stage Description:

    As a standalone race, this stage isnt very intimidating. However, with two stages on the day, along with logistical concerns and a tight timetable, thewell-rounded, and organized athletes will excel.

    From the gun, this stage is typically ast, and it may be an opportunity or the non-climbers to grab a stage win.

    Dont expect too much rom the race avorites as they bide their time or the race nale up Hatcher Pass in Stage 7.

    Tis will be the third appearance o the magnicent Hatcher Pass climb at the Sadlers Alaska Challenge, and is tting as the races nal stage this year.Although the stage has been slightly shortened, the actual climb has not changed and more than 3,500 eet o elevation await the eld.
