Stage 3 Canberra/Snowy
Excursion
Students attending the Canberra/Snowy excursion had an amazing week! (more photos page 3)
Stage 3 Excursion Welcome back to our Stage 3 students who returned last Friday from their excursion to Canberra. Students had a great time on the trip and were looking forward to a rest on the weekend. These excursions happen because of our wonderful teachers contributing their own time to support the individual and educational requirements of our students. Thank you to Ms Lawrence, Ms Green, Mr Morrison and Mr Johnson. Attendance
As the term progresses ‘Attendance’ is an area that can make a substantial difference to a child’s educational development. Encouraging regular school attendance is one of the most powerful ways you can prepare your child for success—both in
school and in life. When you make school attendance a priority, you help your child achieve their personal goals, develop healthy life habits and avoid negative behaviour.
Students who attend school regularly also feel more connected to their community, developing important social skills and friendships, setting them up for a strong future.
As a parent, you can prepare your child for a lifetime of success by making regular school attendance a priority. By figuring out the reasons for your child’s absences, whether they’re physical or emotional, and taking advantage of support services you can help set your child on the path to success. ‘Tell Them From Me’ Shortly you will receive information about students, parents/carers and teachers participating in a range of surveys. The Partners in Learning parent survey is part of the Tell Them From Me suite of surveys on student engagement. The parent survey provides school principals and school leaders with parents’ perspectives on their school as well as learning at home. Communication between parents and staff, activities and practices at home, and parent views on the school’s support of learning and behaviour help build an accurate and timely picture that schools can use for practical improvements. More information will be sent home this week on how you can participate in the survey and support the learning of your child at school. School Photo Day is Wednesday 29th September. Student group photos have been timetabled with the first group starting at 9am. It is important to arrive on time and remember to wear full winter school uniform.
Thought for the week: “Coming together is a beginning;
Keeping together is progress; Working together is success.”

Goodies Have Arrived!!
This time of the year children, seem to be more prone to infections and
diseases. Colds and flus, asthma, conjunctivitis, slapped cheek, gastro and head
lice are some of the viruses and infections our students are currently
experiencing. A parent information sheet on infectious diseases is has been sent
home today. As a courtesy to others, if your child tells you they are sick prior to
school; please keep them home to help reduce the spread of infection. Please
contact the school on 8088 2181 or via the Alma App if your child is ill and
unable to attend.
A medical certificate is also required for absences of 3 days or more.
We have just received a limited number of school hats in the small/medium size. These are available for purchase (cash only) from the school canteen for $10.00.
Reminder: The next P&C meeting will be held next Monday 3rd September at 6.00pm in the staff room.
All welcome!
