Year 11
I have been immensely impressed with the resilience of those Year 11 students who are continuing to work hard even though their exams will not take place this summer Some of you have emailed me personally asking lsquoWhatrsquos the pointrsquo There is every point Year 11 to keep on track and focus as hard as you can on the work your teachers are setting Ofqual have posted online a further update on the 2020 exams It states lsquoWe are rapidly working on plans to implement the arrangements the Secretary of State for Education has set out for exams this summer and with exam boards and teaching bodies are making considerable progress We will outline by Easter the process we will follow to make sure grades are fair across schools and colleges as well as our proposals for appeals We will also say more as soon as possible about the arrangements for additional exams in the new academic year We want to reassure students waiting for news that we are doing everything we can to make sure they are not disadvantaged by these unprecedented circumstancesrsquo To keep busy and to plan ahead you should be looking very closely at Post 16 and the courses you may
be taking up in the 6th form or at college You can find plenty of information on the school website under
the 6th Form tab at the top This outlines the courses available and you could do some independent
research looking at the specifications of the courses you are interested in I am really pleased to hear
that so many of you are returning in the Sixth Form and I look forward to watching you progress and
become amazing young adults in the coming two years
I took some time the other day to re-read my rushed speech from our last week together and it brought
a few tears to my eyes thinking about you all The last few weeks have made me very reflective and yes
I have missed you and I hope that it is the same for you You all mean so much to us as a school We
have made a commitment to you to hold your Prom so whenever that may be I know it will be an even
more special and memorable occasion We will be true to our word as we love you as a family our

to hear how everyone is doing Over the coming few days we will try and get in touch with everyone in
our year group because we care and you are an amazing year group with amazing individuals We are
truly blessed to have such a wonderful cohort at this strange and unprecedented time in our lives I

After Easter you will continue to receive work to complete each day but we are simplifying the timetable This means that you will be sent work for two or three subjects each day rather than five Some of your tasks will be ongoing projects in subjects such as Computing and Technology
You will still be able to space out your learning over several days as we know this is good practice but you will receive fewer emails and will be able to organise your time better
Year 12 and Year 13 You will continue to have work set by your class teacher on the day of your lesson
