Children's author and illustrator Lindsay Barrett

George visited the library on Thursday, November

10th to do a program featuring readings, a discussion

about creating and publishing books, and interactive

drawing activities. Thanks to Lindsay for a wonder-

ful program, and special thanks to library patron

Sherrill Silberling, whose designation of memorials

given to the library in honor of her mother Florence

Silberling, a life-long library user, made this pro-

gram possible.

Children’s Department News

Many thanks to the Pottsville Area High School

Crimson Players whose presentation of Edgar Allan

Poe's The Tell-Tale Heart raised $215 for the library.

his own past, to find the truth about his mother, Jackie,

who disappeared 30 years ago.

Chaos by Patricia Cornwell. Dr. Kay Scarpetta in-

and determined Ukrainian rebels.

Turbo Twenty-three by Janet Evanovich. Stephanie

Plum’s next adventure begins with a freezer truck

loaded with ice cream and a dead body—frozen solid

and covered in chocolate and chopped pecans.

The Award by Danielle Steel. Capturing historical

events, terrifying moments of danger, tragedy, the

Barbet begins in 1940 when the German army occu-

pies France and frightening changes begin to occur.
