This brand new show features music from herlatest album Tenderly, a collaboration withrenowned Brazilian guitarist-composer-producerRoberto Menescal. One of the founders of bossanova, Menescal was awarded the 2013 LatinGrammy Lifetime Achievement Award.

For Kent, the album is a return to the jazz standardsof the Great American Songbook; for Menescal, it’sa return to the jazz roots that inspired him as ayoung guitarist.

Puente, drawing upon musicalinfluences from around the globe.Rooted in Omar’s Afro Cubanheritage, the project fuses musicalexperiences from Brazil, Africa, theCaribbean and Europe, with a deepunderstanding of Jazz. This rich mixproduces an album of complex andinfectious rhythms and originalmelodies, performed by amultinational sextet, and an unusualcombination of violin, trombone andextended rhythm section.
