Inauguration of M.A History Course ( Aided)

St Thomas College, Palai with its glorious of 64 years announces the inauguration of M.A Course

(Aided in History) on 10th October 2014 at Tisserant Hall. The programme was Presided by H.E Mar

Joseph Kallarangatt ( (Patron , St Thomas College Palai), Chief Guest Sri K.M Mani( Hon’ble

Minister for Finance, Law and Housing). Rev. Fr. N.V Joseph, Principal St. Thomas College, Palai,

Prof. Dr. K.S Mathew (Former HOD History, Pondichery Central University, Dr. James John, HOD,

History, Prof. Cyriac Jose, Department of History were given felicitation for the programme.



Department of Malayalam

Malayala Bhasha Varacharanam

Departemnt of Malayalam , St. Thomas Collage Pala has celebrated Malayala Bhasha

Varacharanam during the first week of November in collaboration with PSPMP Library

Kurichithanam and Sree Krishna group of Educational Institutuion Kurichithnam, The program was

inaugurated by renowned film actor Prof. Babu Nambuthiri on 1st Nov 2014.



“AthunikanantharaKavitha ”, A book authored by Dr. Thomas Scaria is released on 7th November 2014 .

Dr.C.T Francies is handling an awareness program for the students on anti-Alchaholic in association with MalayalaBhashavaracharanam.

Mukthaharam a book of PKV was released by Prof. Babu Namboothiri in the inauguration function of Malayala Bhasha Varachranam in Kurichithanam on 11th November 2014.



The closing ceremony of MalayalaBhashaVaracharanam was inaugurated by Dr. Baby Sebastian Thonikkuzhi, the Principal, St. George College Aruvithra, on 7th November 2014 at Kurichithanam.

Scholarship Distribution

D.Ouseppu Memmorial Scholarship to Prince T. Jose who is the top scorer in M.A Sanskrit.



R.S Varmaji Scholarship to Sarath Raj who is the top scorer in B.A Malayalam Examination.

S. Rajesekharan Scholarship to Aarathi . P. Nair who is the top scorer in M.A. Malayalam.



Department of Physical Education

St.Thomas college swimming team which won the M.G.University inter-collegiate swimming championship. The team was selected to represent the university at all India intervarsity competition.

St. Thomas cross country team which won the M.G.University inter-collegiate cross country championship for the year 2014-15. Four students were selected to represent M.G.University



Inauguration of department literary society by HOD Prof. Raju Thomas

St.Thomas college Volleyball team which won the M.G.University intercollegiate championship for the year 2014-15. Four students were selected to represent the University team. The team also won the Baselius trophy at Kottayam,, St.stephens trophy at Pathanapuram and were runners-up at the 37th south india Bishop vayalil trophy at St.Thomas college.

ComArena 8.0 The 8th edition of South Indian Commerce & Management Fest- ComArena was held on 29 -30 August 2014. More than 600 students from 51 Colleges and 16 Schools competed in 10 innovative and enlightening events. Selfless service of eminent panel of Judges made ComArena a golden experience to the contestants. Winners were given Cash Prize of Rs.100,000/- sponsored by Commerce Alumni and other industrial well-wishes along with certificates and trophies. The fest was inaugurated by Adv Joy Abraham M. P. on 30th Aug 2014.



One Day Workshop on Research Methodology

One day workshop on research methodology was organized for the M.Com students from various colleges in the Library Hall on 25th October 2014.The program was inaugurated by College principal Rev.Fr.N V Joseph Njarakattil. 57 students from different colleges were attended the program.
