Series of Talks: On Wednesday 30th January at 7:30pm, Stephen Corrigan will be giving the 2nd in his series of short talks on different elements of the Catholic faith. The talk will take place in the Church, and after a chance for refreshments in the Sacristy there will be an informal discussion on the points raised. All are welcome.

Clifton Diocese- Year of Prayer The epiphanies carry on... this time at Cana. Here is the first of Jesus’ signs. They reveal to us who Jesus is. What could be seen as a clear reminder of unworthiness and brokenness (water) is transformed into a symbol of rejoicing and presence (wine). Maybe there’s something of a new weddedness that it to take place between God and his people once again... in Jesus. Mary’s presence and, indeed, her ‘instructions’ to the servants give us food for our own prayer: do whatever he tells you. The Lord calls us close to him and as we open ourselves up to him, as we seek to encounter him through prayer, we seek to do his will. Prayer can be an abandonment to the will of God, a letting go so as to let God come flooding into our lives. And as we see from the wine at Cana, God always brings an abundance!
