Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
world without end. Amen, amen.
Holy, Creator God, who gives all that is good, we come this day with thanksgiving, for you have blessed our lives. You have made our world, and you promise the fullness of life for all creation. Yet, we misuse your gifts. We are often led by selfish desires and ambitions. The good you give to us, we destroy or refashion for our own purposes. Forgive us, O God, and join us together as we forgive one another with steadfast kindness. Call us again to be your people, to declare your love in all we say and do.
Silence for Personal Confession
Based on a prayer by
Walter Brueggemann,
our Stewardship Season
theme this year is “Feed
us till we want no more!”
When we are so full
of Jesus that we lack
nothing of his selfless
life, then we will live each
day eager to share our
financial resources with
others to the glory of our
God in heaven.
There is pain and evil in
the world, in which we
are often participants. If
we ignore the ways we
cause pain to God, to
others, and to creation,
we limit the opportunities
for transformation and
healing. In Confession we
practice bringing our pain
to the light, so that God
can transform it.

*AffirmAtion of fAitH (All)I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic Church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

The practice of receiving communion by intinction is an ancient one. When taking Communion by intinction, the body of the Church acts together, moving as a community towards the Table. Worshippers are invited to come forward, take a piece of bread, and intinct or dip it in the cup, place it in their mouth, and return to their seats.

Our stewardship thought this time around is, “O Lord, feed us till we want no more!” That is, feed us with Jesus Christ until we are full of his generous love. If we are so full of Jesus
that we lack nothing of his selfless life, then we will live each day eager to share our financial resources with others to the glory of our God in heaven.
A second thought follows immediately. If we feed on the bread of heaven and the generous life of Jesus, then we will want no more of the worldly things that we previously thought were
so important. So this time around, we are asking God to feed us with his Holy Spirit until we want no more. What God will give us is the best life possible upon earth, the generous life!
Pledge cards for the 2017 mission budget are available on tabletops throughout the church. It is time to pray. We will dedicate them to Jesus Christ on Sunday, November 13. The church
needs your support in all ways. God bless you as the generous people of faith.
