Tiny TotsOur Tiny Tots for 2- year olds program is designed to focus on social development, motor skills, coordination, basic concepts, and group activities which lay the foundation for later development in reading, mathematics, physical skills, social and emotional development, and communication skills. Children are accompanied by a parent or caregiver for the class.

Current session dates and registration forms are available from the office or website.

PreschoolOur preschool programs for three and four year olds provide a stimulating and joyful environment that aims to strengthen self-esteem. Children learn through hands-on activities which lay the foundation for later development in reading, mathematics, physical skills, social and emotional development, as well as communication skills. The religion curriculum is also an integral part of the program.

In PreK-4, we introduce the Superkids reading program as part of our curriculum to develop proficiency in young readers.

We have flexible full-time and part-time options: Half Day Program 8:00–11:30am Full Day Program 8:00am–2:50pm

(Children must be three or four years old by September 1st and toilet trained.)

“Each child is a gift from God. We encourage a child’s natural love of learning. Once they develop a desire to explore and learn, that enthusiasm for learning carries over to the upper grades.” Molly McHugh, Preschool Teacher

CurriculumOur curriculum strives to meet the needs of the whole child. We nurture students as unique individuals in relationship to God, society, and the global community.

Honors and Title I programs address the diverse needs of our students. We also build partnerships with Catholic high schools and universities that further enhance our curriculum. For example, 8th grade Honors students are taught high school level Algebra I through our partnership with DePaul College Prep. Our school also participates in the Inquiry-Based Science Teaching in the Middle Grades Partnership with Loyola University.

“Instead of pursuing gifted or magnet programs in the public schools, we decided to enroll our children at St. Robert Bellarmine. It’s not just about what they learn, it’s about who they become. SRB has provided a challenging academic environment for them plus a great community for all of us.” Parent of four SRB students

FacultyOur teachers and curriculum prepare students for the challenges of high school and a lifetime of learning in a changing world. A personal connection between student and teacher, as well as group interaction with peer-to-peer mentoring are hallmarks of our program.

“As a parent, I found St Robert Bellarmine to be a combination of academic excellence and strong Christian values. Currently, I am proud to be a member of a faculty who work to make SRB a place where children can learn to think, to care, and to serve.” Mrs. Ursula Kunath

The founding teachers at our school—the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur—cemented the values, total child philosophy, and parent-school-child partnership that we still believe in today. Our current faculty is composed of new and veteran teachers. Mentoring relationships maximize current practices and proven experience. A commitment to their professional development ensures continuous learning and improvement.

EDPOur Extended Day Program (EDP) provides before and after school care in a supervised, safe, and enjoyable environment for students. Students are grouped by age and participate in a variety of activities.

To offer a good balance of structured activities and free play, EDP afternoons include snack time and free time, Homework Club facilitated by teachers, gym activities, supervised outdoor free play, crafts, LEGO® building, and more.

More detail and current rates can be found on the school website.

Summer ProgramOur Summer Program provides fun and enrichment for children along with the care parents need. We collaborate with nearby Dunham Park (which is managed by a St. Robert Bellarmine parent) to offer flexible modules that accommodate the needs of different families.

In addition, Title I Summer School also takes place during summer mornings and can be coordinated with the summer program. Some of the enrichment programs that are offered during the school year are also offered over the summer, at times that coordinate with SRB Afternoon EDP.
