Are we there yet? I had a wonderful trip up
north for my family reunion. It was a long weekend of hugs, love, stories, good food, laughter and smiles all around. After the reunion my husband and I took our two oldest grandchildren on a trip to Mackinaw. While driving there from West Branch my granddaughter started asking the question every parent has probably experienced and sometimes cringed at hearing, the ever popu-lar…”Are we there yet?” Besides the fact that it brought back a ton of memories from my own childhood asking that life-long question, it made me really think…“Are we there yet?”. Our spiritual life isn’t only about our final destination, but more of our jour-ney to that destination. Yes, we do all want to reach our final destination of heaven and being with God, but we can-not reach it if we have not prepared well for the journey. Any well planned trip takes time to prepare, making sure we have everything packed that we would need for our journey. We know along the way we have to also plan for nour-ishment that will sustain us. We also have to respond and adapt to challenges and changes along the way. Interrup-tions that happen along the way are real-ly blessings for us and allow us to be closer to God. The final destination we have must be what inspires us and helps moves us forward on our journey. We need to look at ourselves as to who God wants us to be and what we need to do to prepare to eventually be with Him. So have you asked yourself…Are you there yet?

Music Notes While we take tomorrow to rest and spend time with our
families, let us remember that God is always working for us. I would like to thank Mr. George for graciously ac-cepting my invitation to provide music for this weekends masses. I am praying for the St. Pio family and I am hoping that you all have a wonderful Labor Day. One of my favorite poems is: God is Working: God’s At Work Be still, be quiet and you shall see, the hand of the God of eternity.
Just be still and know He is God, shepherding all with staff and rod. He’s at work throughout your life; He’s the comfort in pain and strife. And when a problem won’t relent, God is there with encouragement. God doesn’t move like you or me, He moves throughout all eternity. Starting before the beginning friend, and His presence will not end. He doesn’t work on earthly time; God’s timely measures are divine. Friend it isn’t that God is slow, He’s just patient so that all can know, Now, He’s at work in believers friends helping others to comprehend, the saving Truth of Jesus Christ, so that they can gain Eternal Life. With a new life in Christ you’ll see, how He’s at work in you and me. Let Christ Jesus in your heart, and a new work in you God will start. God’s work will be done in ways that fill your heart with eternal praise.
Be Blessed, WSH

St. Pio Intercessory Prayer Ministry
Come join us after Mass in the church and experience the Holy
Spirit at work with our newest ministry! Prayer teams are available after all weekend Masses. Intercessory prayer is a prayer that pleads with God for your needs and the needs of others. Often the problems we face seem too big for us. No matter how much we try, we cannot solve them on our own. It's times like these when we need to turn to the Lord in intercessory prayers.
