REVIEW OF ACTIVITIES

Harvest Festival: On 15th of September2012 our church celebrated Harvest Festival.

Sevika sangham day: The Parish observed 16th of September as Sevika Sangham day.

Students’ dedication: On 16th of September the students’ dedication service was

conducted.

Kerala Festival: Kerala Festival was celebrated on the 6th of October.

Badminton Tournament: Badminton tournament organised by youths was conducted on

the 20th of October.

Malayalam Classes: The much awaited Malayalam classes commenced on the 7th of

October.

Regular Programmes

Sunday School- classes are held on Sundays after Worship Service

Youth League – meetings are held after Church Service on Sundays

Choir – practices are from 2.00 pm on all Sundays.

Sevika Sangham – meetings are held on Sundays after Worship Services. Prayer

is arranged on every Fridays.

Edavaka Mission- Bible study is conducted by Rev.Sabu C Mathew on Fridays at

7.30 pm at willing members’ residences.

Cottage Prayers: Cottage prayers can be arranged on 1st & 3rd Saturdays. Please

contact Achen/Area Representatives or Secretary to arrange prayer at your

residence.

Condolence: Raju Paul's father Mr.Varkey paulose (92 years) has left for his heavenly abode

on the 17th of November at Piravom, Kerala.

MESSAGE FROM THE VICAR

Dearly Beloved in Christ.

By the Grace of God we are at the tail end of the year 2012 and looking forward with hope to welcome the

Year 2013. It is time for us all to thank God for the protection and providence we and our dear ones have

enjoyed in this world of insecurity. When God is blessing us with one New Year, it is good to think how we

were in the last year. How we have utilised the opportunities that were given to us last year? Do we have

grown in Grace and wisdom according to the One who created us? Whether we were faithful to Him who

called and blessed us? We need to verify seriously the graph of our lives whether we are upward or

downward? How much we have grown in the areas like; Holiness, Love, faith, worship, fellowship,

witnessing, nobility, generosity etc.etc. Or are we going downward in these areas? Let Christmas be an

occasion to re-discover our lives and its purposes in the light of incarnation. Zechariah said “Praise to the

Lord, the God of Israel, because he has come and has redeemed his people. He has raised up a horn of

salvation for us in the house of his servant David” (Luke 1:68, 69.) God has done everything that is

needed for our renewal and redemption. “There for holy brothers, who share in the heavenly calling, fix

your thoughts on Jesus, the apostle and high priest whom we confess”? (Hebrew 3:1).

At Christmastime we love to hear the angelic message of peace on earth. But the message that’s

repeated in songs and sermons needs to be heard and heeded every day of the year. We continually

hear reports of tragedies around the globe. And we may be troubled by personal problems and crises.

We long for and pray for peace.

The Bible provides an answer to that plea for peace. To start with, the apostle Paul assured us in Ro-

mans 5:1 that it is possible to have peace with God. Yes, we disobedient and sinful creatures can en-

ter into a state of reconciliation with God through faith in His Son Jesus (v.11).

We can enjoy emotional peace as we cast our cares on the Saviour (Philippians 4:6-7; 1 Peter 5:7).

There is also the possibility of interpersonal peace. In Romans 12:18, Paul urged believers, “As much

as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.” Peace with others can become a reality. Best of all,

we can anticipate global peace when our Saviour, the Prince of Peace, returns.

By our prayers and by our example, let us be peacemakers who help to fulfill the angelic message:

“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!” (Luke 2:14).

Peace, perfect peace, in this dark world of sin?

The blood of Jesus whispers peace within;

Peace, perfect peace, our future all unknown?

Jesus, we know, and He is on the throne. —Bickersteth

Only the Prince of Peace can bring lasting peace.
