LIFE THOUGHTS ….. The rich man knew Lazarus’s name (Luke 16:24) but refused to treat him as a human being (Luke 16:19-21). Categorizing Lazarus as a nonentity enabled him to “feast sumptuously.” When we neglect to speak for the unborn or the elderly, when we avoid getting involved in their survival, we join the rich man’s callous carousing. But when we embrace them with our voices and our service, we take our place beside Abraham in heaven’s festivities.

ACCEPTING NOMINATIONS The Board of Christian Education is seeking names for the position of 7th grade teacher (possibly beginning January 2020) and the position of Kindergarten teacher for the 2020-2021 school year. ORPHAN GRAIN TRAIN will once again be packing for those in need. Join us on Tuesday, October 1, beginning at 8:30 a.m. and finishing up with a potluck at noon. KEEPING IT COOL!! Recently during the warm school days, we have found the air conditioning units in the classrooms may be coming to the end of their usefulness. Most units are 10-15 years old and will soon need service work and/ or replacing. We are looking ahead at that expense and have started a “Keep It Cool” Fund. Often people inquire as to where a special gift or memorial might be directed. Contributions may be placed in the offering plate marked “Keep It Cool Fund” Thank you! COUNSELING SITE Lisa Hecht, Christian Counselor for Lutheran Counseling and Family Services of Wisconsin, conducts regular office hours at St. Peter’s. This service is available to everyone. You will find brochures and information in the Information Center in the narthex. For additional information or to make an appointment, please call 1-800-291-4513 or 608-516-5598.
