Dear Friends,

It is with great joy that I want to announce

we were able to pay 100% of our District and

Conference Apportionments for 2018. I ap-

preciate all of the second mile giving that was

done in order to accomplish this. Our Confer-

ence Apportionments are helping support

ministry efforts beyond our local Church. At

the same time, we have been the beneficiary

of several grants since we began the process

of establishing our second campus.

Other exciting news regarding our end of year finances include:

We paid off the balance of our “Magnify and Multiply” loan. With anoth-

er year on our “Remember Our Future” Capital Campaign, we will be paying

down the balance of our loan for the West Campus property – which is cur-

rently just over 2.7 million.

We were able to carry over funds to help us as we go through the typical

up and down trends of giving throughout the year – especially during the

summer months when there are so many programs for children and youth

and giving is usually lower.

We had several families give their entire yearly pledge amount at the

beginning of the year. This will also help us through the up and down trends

mentioned above.

We were able to put $30,000 more into our Trustees Reserve Fund,

which will be helpful in case of an unexpected problem with our facilities.

The total in Trustees reserves is now $128,000.

As we continue into 2019, I am excited to see what God is doing in and

through St. Peter’s. I am blessed to be part of such a great church! Your

commitment is a wonderful display of how we are connecting the world

with God’s love. Thank you for all you do!

It is with joy I want to share news from the Zeisig’s household. Nicki and I are expecting our first child at the end of July! Words can’t express how excited we are bringing this baby girl into the world. We have been in Katy a little over a year and a half and have loved our time here and are looking forward to sharing this next phase of our life with our St. Peter’s fam-ily. We have found a fantastic community here that loves God and is striving to connect the world with God’s love. Nicki and I both covet your prayer, and I can’t wait for you all to meet her!

Life Group session has begun. Life Groups are groups of eight to 14 people doing Christian life deeply together. They gen-erally meet once a week to build relationships with other believers and study the word of God.

There is a free app that will make it easier to

connect with St. Peter’s through your mobile de-vices. The ACS Church Life app allows you to access the information in the mem-ber database found on our website. You will be able to search through our mem-ber directory, register for events, check the church calendar, and give online. Our annual chili competition benefitting our high school seniors’ mission trip to Jamaica is coming up Feb. 3 at noon in the Wesley Student Cen-

ter. Join us for our annual Chili Cook-Off hosted by our Student Ministries. Taste all of the different chili samples and vote on your favorite. The win-ning teams will have bragging rights for all of 2019! In addition, there will be a yummy dessert auction as well as $5 hot dog meals that include a hot dog, chips, and lemonade.

STUDENT MINISTRYUpcoming Camps & Events:

Camp Connect: The Junior High mission trip will be going to the South Houston area. This camp is for current 6th, 7th, & 8th-grade students.

During the week students will be serving in a variety of ways, including lead-ing a VBS program for the children at ParkView Village Apartments. Cost is $125. To sign up, please visit HERE.

U.M. ARMY: A mission trip for students currently in grades 9-12. During this trip students will travel to Carthage, TX, to serve people in need

within the community by building wheel-chair ramps, painting, yard work, and much more. Along with serving, students will be able to participate in worship and fun activities each evening. To sign up, please click HERE.

The Job Search Assis-tance Group meets

Wednesday for those interested in a program to help with looking for em-ployment or job change. The group will meet at 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm in Room S202 upstairs over the Sanctuary. Information will be discussed on search tactics, online submittals, networking, resumes and interviewing for both gen-eral and individual specific job searches. There is no charge for this program. Come and join this small group where many have found new employment. When attending please be on time and bring your most recent resume. Regis-tration requested, but not required. We are looking for someone who loves music and children to serve as our Children’s Choir Coordinator. In this part-time paid position, you

will oversee children’s choirs for ages 4 through fifth grade, organize a sum-mer Music Theater Camp, lead children’s musicals and special music events throughout the year, prepare the choirs to sing in worship during the year, conduct rehearsals, and assist the Music Ministry director with special con-certs and presentations.

Kids Jam Returns for the Spring Semester

The Children’s Ministry is very thankful for all their volun-

teers and the fantastic job they do day-after-day and week-after-week. We are thankful for Jill Wilkes and Jill Russell for the great work they do with our kids here in St. Peter’s. For the last four years, these incredible lead-ers have led the same class and become one of the kids favorite teachers. Thank you, Jills!

St. Peter’s Keys Senior Adult group took a trip to Flatonia, Texas on Tues-day, January 22. The group visited the E.A. Arnim Archives Museum, The

Barn Museum, Texas Rail History Center and St. Mary’s Catholic Church. As part of the trip, the group had lunch at Red Vault Bistro, a beautifully restored historic building and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Surveys amongst the group have indicated that their preferred trips are to small towns in Texas and visit their museums, therefore, when the idea of visiting Flatonia came up it was well received by the group. Flatonia’s his-tory and museum were an important reason as to why the group decided to go. With the leadership of Melba and Jim Butler the group started planning this trip about five to six months ago, as they need to reserve county buses and drivers. “During this trip we toured three different museums. We had lunch at the Red Vault Bistro, one of the oldest restaurants in Flatonia, which had a real neat menu,” said Keys Senior Adult Council President Bob Belden. “After lunch we visited St. Mary’s Catholic Church, which is one of the original churches in the area and it had just been renovated to make it look more like the original church.”The Keys Senior Adult group has been taking trips for over a decade, these trips create a way for members to the interact with each other and get to know people in a more personal way. “These trips are a neat way to get to know other people in the church. Sometimes we might do a 15-minute bus ride, but sometimes it might be a 1:15-minute bus ride,” Belden said. “These trips give you a chance to meet other people by having lunch with them. It’s just a great way to interface with other people in the church regardless of what the trip is.”

We are pleased to an-nounce that Hector Cas-telltort has accepted St. Peter’s Communications Coordinator position and began his new post this past Monday, Janu-ary 14. You will be able to find Hector in the office Monday-Thursday. Hector is a graduate of Texas A&M University-Kingsville with a dual major in Communica-tions and Spanish. Hector also has a Master of Divin-ity in Theology from Baylor University. Please welcome him to St. Peter’s.
