With Purchase of $10 Master Set - Get 1 Free Early Bird Card Free Master Set for your Birthday Week

Please continue to pray for the victims of Hurricanes Irma and Harvey. Thank you for your contributions to our second collection last week. That money will go to Catholic Relief Services to help with the recovery of the victims of Harvey. Thank you for your loving generosity. Please remember our new Sunday Mass Schedule. This Sunday is Catechetical Sunday. May God bless all of us in our various roles of passing on our faith: parents and grandparents, commissioned teacher-catechists and their helpers, Sisters and Priests and Deacons, and even the Bishops and Pope. We are truly blessed! Catechesis for our young students is experienced at home and in CCD and St. Paul School. St. Paul Parish Pastoral Council met this past Monday. We discussed plans for our Ministry Fair, which will be held in November. (Members told me that we had an event like this years ago.) The Priests Convocation and possible future activities were also discussed. Leaders (or their representatives) of various ministries and organizations at St. Paul are being invited to a meeting on Monday, September 25, at 7:00 pm, in the Rectory Meeting Room.

Make it a great week.

With love and prayers,

Father Bob Edwards

Father Bob’s Corner .

Dear Friends,

None of us lives for oneself, and no one dies for oneself. Romans 14:7

St. Paul continues to instruct the Romans. He tells them that we are the Lord’s. He wants them to be certain of that. The many members of the Church are parts of the Body of Christ. When we personally receive Holy Communion, we receive Jesus and his life is given to all of us – we share the same life.

We have experienced a lot of deaths and funerals recently. A lot of thoughts and comments have been made by the families and parishioners. In light of today’s message from St. Paul, one of my thoughts goes back years ago to a talk I heard by some psychologists. They said that one of the major questions in adult life is, “To whom do I belong.” Accompanying that is the question, “Who belongs to me.” When we belong to the Lord, we can recite with the Bride in the Song of Songs, “I belong to my lover, and my lover belongs to me.” We don’t belong to ourselves! We are only on loan to each other. We live as baptized people when we live our lives believing that we belong to God. We are solidified in God’s life in the Holy Eucharist.

Annual 10 Week Raffle - after all Masses this weekend, students will be selling raffle tickets at the church doors. Please see page 4 for additional information.
