FROM THE PASTOR
Dear Parishioners,
The approach of July 4th provides us with the opportunity to reflect upon the love we have for our nation and the freedoms we enjoy. Independence Day also reminds us that our Catholic Faith is the greatest contribution we can offer our nation and society. The full message of the Gospel, including love of God and neighbor and respect for the infinite dignity of every human life, is the healing salve for the problems and wounds that cause so much suffering in our country and throughout the world.
On behalf of the parish clergy and staff, I would like to wish you a Happy Fourth, and thank you for all the support you are lending to our parish in this challenging time.
Yours in Christ, Fr. Eversole

SAINTS PETER & PAUL, APOSTLES
Peter, originally known as Simon, was a fisherman; he and his brother, Andrew, were among the Lord’s earliest disciples.
Because of his confession of faith in Christ as the Son of God, Peter was chosen by the
Lord to be the “rock” upon which He would found His church. (Mt 16:18) The Catholic Church has always recognized Peter’s successors - the bishops of Rome - as the universal shepherds of the Church.
Paul, originally known as Saul, was a Roman citizen and a Pharisee. He presided over the persecutions of the early Christians and was present at the martyrdom of St. Stephen. However, Saul experienced a powerful vision that caused him to convert to Christianity while on the road to Damascus. He was baptized and took the name Paul. He held that Jews and Gentiles alike were called to Christ, and his missionary journeys brought the Gospel to many non-Jewish peoples.
Saints Peter and Paul were martyred in Rome. Their feast day is June 29
