Happy Easter! On behalf of the clergy and staff of St Mary’s Church, my best wishes for a Happy and Holy Easter Season to all of you! May the Risen Jesus shine in your lives in everything you do!

Bishop elect Joel Konzen will be or-dained to the episcopate on Tuesday, April 3 at 2:00pm, at the Cathedral of Christ the King in Atlanta.

Father Valery will be off Monday thru Friday, April 2-6.

Pope Francis words

“Entering the tomb”. It is good for us, on this Vigil night, to reflect on the experience of the women, which also speaks to us. For that is why we are here: to enter, to enter into the Mys-tery which God has accomplished with his vigil of love. We cannot live Easter without enter-ing into the mystery. It is not some-thing intellectual, something we only know or read about… It is more, much more! “To enter into the mystery” means the ability to wonder, to contemplate; the ability to listen to the silence and to hear the tiny whisper amid great silence by which God speaks to us (cf 1 Kings 19:12). To enter into the mystery demands that we not be afraid of reality: that we not be locked into ourselves, that we not flee from what we fail to understand, that we not close our eyes to problems or deny them, that we not dismiss our ques-tions…

To enter into the mystery means going beyond our own comfort zone, beyond the laziness and indifference which hold us back, and going out in search of truth, beauty and love. It is seeking a deeper meaning, an answer, and not an easy one, to the questions which challenge our faith, our fidelity and our very existence. To enter into the mystery, we need humility, the lowliness to abase ourselves, to come down from the pedestal of our “I” which is so proud, of our presumption; the humility not to take ourselves so seriously, recognizing who we really are: creatures with strengths and weaknesses, sinners in need of forgiveness. To enter into the mystery we need the lowliness that is powerlessness, the renunciation of our idols… in a word, we need to adore. Without adoration, we cannot enter into the mystery.

El Papa Francisco nos habla

«Entraron en el sepulcro». En esta noche de vigilia, nos viene bien de-tenernos a reflexionar sobre la expe-riencia de las discípulas de Jesús, que también nos interpela a noso-tros. Efectivamente, para eso esta-mos aquí: para entrar, para entrar en el misterio que Dios ha realizado con su vigilia de amor. No se puede vivir la Pascua sin entrar en el misterio. No es un hecho intelectual, no es sólo conocer, leer... Es más, es mucho más. «Entrar en el misterio» significa capacidad de asombro, de contemplación; capacidad de escuchar el silencio y sentir el susurro de ese hilo de silencio sonoro en el que Dios nos habla (cf. 1 Re 19,12). Entrar en el misterio nos exige no tener miedo de la reali-dad: no cerrarse en sí mismos, no huir ante lo que no enten-demos, no cerrar los ojos frente a los problemas, no negar-los, no eliminar los interrogantes... Entrar en el misterio significa ir más allá de las cómodas certezas, más allá de la pereza y la indiferencia que nos frenan, y ponerse en busca de la verdad, la belleza y el amor, buscar un sentido no ya descontado, una respuesta no trivial a las cuestiones que ponen en crisis nuestra fe, nuestra fidelidad y nuestra razón. Para entrar en el misterio se necesita humildad, la humildad de abajarse, de apearse del pedestal de nuestro yo, tan or-gulloso, de nuestra presunción; la humildad para redimen-sionar la propia estima, reconociendo lo que realmente so-mos: criaturas con virtudes y defectos, pecadores necesita-dos de perdón. Para entrar en el misterio hace falta este abajamiento, que es impotencia, vaciamiento de las propias idolatrías... adoración. Sin adorar no se puede entrar en el misterio.

BAPTISMAL PREPARATION CLASSES The next Baptismal Preparation class will

meet on Sunday May 6th, 2018 at 11:00 am in

the Conference Room. Along with the child’s

parents, it is recommended that the child’s

Godparents also attend.

Our next Baptisms will be on Saturday, April 14th at 11:00 am. Those with special scheduling circumstances should speak

with a Parish Deacon regarding a scheduling time.

You must be registered with the church office for the Baptism class.

Chapter 4410 Knights of Columbus invites all Dads, Father-figures, and daughters of any

age to a Princess Ball at the Parish School Cafete-ria, Saturday April 14th from 7-9 pm. Each princess will re-ceive a corsage and a picture with her escort. Tickets will be $15 for a Dad and Daughter; $20 for a Dad and two Daugh-ters; $25 for a Dad and 3 or more Daughters. Watch for tick-ets to be sold in the Church Narthex (Vestibule) !!

Chaplet of Divine Mercy

The Divine Mercy Novena begins on Good Friday, March 30, 2018 and continues through Divine Mercy Sunday, April 8th on which day the Chaplet will be prayed at 3:30 pm, during an hour of Eucharistic Adoration. Brochures with the Divine Mercy Novena and Chaplet are available in the Church Vestibule. Jesus told St. Faustina: “It is my desire that the Feast of the Divine Mercy be solemnly celebrated on the first Sunday after Easter. . . whoever recites (it) will receive great mercy, especially at the hour of death, and they will be embraced by Jesus’ mercy during their lifetime.”

How to Pray the Divine Chaplet:

On the rosary’s large beads: Pray the “Eternal Father”:

Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, for our sins and those of the whole world.

On the rosary’s small beads: Pray the “For the Sake of His Sorrowful Passion”: For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

(This is done for each decade of the rosary).

In Conclusion:

Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mer-cy on us, and on the whole world. (3 times)

Jesus, I trust in you. (3 times)

NOVENA DE LA MISERICORDIA:

La Novena de la Divina Misericordia comienza el viernes San-to, 30 de marzo, y continua hasta el domingo de la Divina Misericordia, 8 de abril, en este día se rezara en la Iglesia a las 3:30 pm durante una hora de Adoración Eucarística. Los folletos de la Divina Misericordia están disponibles en el vestí-bulo.

Jesús dijo a Sta. Faustina: “Es mi deseo que la fiesta de la Divi-na Misericordia sea solemnemente celebrada el primer Domin-go después de la Pascua… "A las almas que recen esta coro-nilla, Mi Misericordia las envolverá en vida y especialmente en la hora de la muerte." "En esta novena concederé a las almas todas las gracias". Es una promesa sin restricciones…

PRÁCTICA DE LA NOVENA DE LA MISERICORDIA:

Se reza con un rosario común.

Cada día reza un Padrenuestro, Avemaría y Credo, y luego con las cuentas del Santo Rosario:

Reza 5 decenas. Comienza cada decena así:

"Padre Eterno, yo te ofrezco el Cuerpo y la Sangre, el Alma y la Divinidad de tu amadísimo Hijo, Nuestro Señor Jesucristo, co-mo propiciación por nuestros pecados y los del mundo entero".

Sigue e implora al Padre Eterno 10 veces, en cada decena: "Por su dolorosa Pasión, ten Misericordia de nosotros y del mundo entero".

Al final, repite 3 veces: "Santo Dios, Santo Fuerte, Santo Inmortal, ten Misericordia de nosotros y del mundo entero".
