Second Sunday of Advent:

In today’s gospel, John the Baptist urges us to “prepare the way of the Lord.” This is what Ad-vent is all about, for we are called to help pre-pare the way of the Lord by making the real meaning of Christmas come alive in our own hearts, in our family, and to reach out to those in need. Is there a family you know who needs assis-tance? Please call the Society of St. Vincent de Paul so that together we can help the suffering and the poor to celebrate Christmas.

St. Frances of Rome Circle will be selling “Bean Soup Mix” as their Christmas Fundraiser after each Mass on Dec. 7 & 8; Dec. 14 & 15; and Dec. 21 & 22. Bags are $5.00 each.

The ladies of St. Ann’s in Stonewall will host the lunch-eon/meeting of the Catholic Women’s League at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 522 East Flournoy Lu-cas Rd. on Tuesday, Dec. 10. Registration will start at 9:30 a.m. & the meeting will start promptly at 10:30 a.m. Cost of the luncheon is $10.00. Please bring a new unwrapped toy for either a boy or girl for Christmas to be donated for Toys for Tots charities. Canned goods & used clothing will be collected for the host Church chari-ty of their choice. Please bring your “White Elephant” gift items in a gift bag. These items will sell for $.50.
