✓ CLASS ATTENDANCE: Regular attendance is very important for your child, and for the Faith Formation Programs. Irregular attendance may cause the student to miss important lessons and may result in lack of enthusiasm for religious education. Attendance is required for all Sacraments.
✓ ABSENCES: If your child is sick and/or not attending class please call the office, and leave a message at 503-845-4282. Please go over the missed material at home. Multiple absences, without notification can result in being dropped from the class. Please call.
✓ COMMUNICATION: Good communication between the home and parish is important in serving the needs of your children. Always check for notes and flyers that are sent home. Subscribe to texts & emails. Read weekly bulletin. Listen to announcements at Mass and Faith Formation Nights. Visit the website. Find and follow St. Mary’s FF on Facebook, too.
✓ CLASS TIMES: Please bring your child on time so that they are in the classroom or in their pew at the beginning of the class.
✓ ARRIVAL: Students should not arrive any earlier than 10 minutes before class starts.
✓ BOOKS: Your child (K-6) will be expected to bring his/her book to class each week. They will be given a book bag to keep them in. (Please make sure book comes to class each week) Lost books will be replaced with a charge of $25.00 per book.
✓ CELL PHONES/Electronics: If your child has a cell phone, electronic, or toys in church, or during class, and they become a distraction, they will be collected and only released to parents.
✓ CANCELLATIONS: We follow the Mt. Angel School District in regards to class cancelations. If Mt. Angel doesn’t have school; we don’t have class. We will work diligently to communicate any other cancelations due to weather or unforeseen circumstances. You can always call the parish at 503.845.4282 or 503.845.2296 (front desk) for updates.
✓ SACRAMENTS: To receive Sacraments, Mass & class attendance is required. Our Sacramental Prep program for Reconciliation & Eucharist is a 2-yr program starting with Reconciliation class every 1st Sunday during (ideally) the 1st grade year, followed by another year of classes before receiving Holy Communion. There is also a day-retreat for parents and child during each year. Confirmation is also a 2-yr program, and has various requirements throughout both years, including, but not limited to retreats, reports, journaling, individual meetings, and service. (See Youth Ministry insert) This will help to ensure the child’s understanding and readiness for each of these amazing Sacraments.

Meta Y objetivos El programa de formación de fe de Santa María se esfuerza a ayudar a los jóvenes tener un amor profundo hacia Dios, y una relación íntima con Jesús, y un entendimiento más completo de la Fe Católica. Nosotros reconocemos, y apoyamos fuertemente, que los padres son los primeros educadores de sus hijos.
Nuestra meta es ayudar a los padres crear una fundación concreta para que los niños expresen porque son católicos, que crean los católicos y que vivan la fe atreves de la participación de los Sacramentos y utilicen sus regalos para servir en el Reino de Dios. ¡Nosotros tenemos programas para todas las edades, porque la catequesis es una formación continua nunca termina! La clase de edad escolar se llevan a cabo semanal, para los grados del Kindergarten al 6th grado: los Miércoles por la noche de 6:30pm a 7:50pm o los Domingos entre las Misas, de 11:10 am a 12:20pm.
Guia Atendencia: la asistencia regular es muy importante para su hijo y para el programa de educación religiosa. Atendencia irregular puede causar que su hijo pierda lecciones importantes y puede ocasionar desinterés a la educación religiosa. Atendencia es requerido para su sacramento.
La Falta: Si su hijo se encuentra enfermo y no podrá atender a la clase por favor de llamar a la oficina y deje un mensaje 503-845-4282. Por favor repasen el capítulo en casa. Múltiples faltas, sin notificación puede resultar en expulso. Por favor llame.
