Things pupils should learn within financial education week before presentation:   Definitions of: Equity Financial projections (profit/loss) Basic financial information Unique Selling Point Cost of sales – discuss how to lower these costs e.g. by changing supplier (comparing

contracts), increasing volume Profit (net and gross)   - How to create a net of a shape and consequently its 3D shape. - How to calculate the cost of this net shape given the cost of different materials. - Discuss which shape would give optimum volume with least cost to make?? - Create a presentation with poster to enhance presentation   Produce a report/evaluation on how this project will impact on their future life decisions.

Questions pupils will be expected to answer:   What is the product you would like us to invest in?   How much investment would you like and for what amount of equity?   Why should I invest in your product? (What is the unique selling point?)   What are your financial projections for this year and the next two years?   Pupils should also be able to confidently handle any negotiation for equity

within the ‘den’.
