Festival Sign-up Weekends The Festival Committee invites everyone to stop over in the school cafeteria

after any of the Masses this weekend, July 22 & 23, or next weekend, July 29 &

30, to pick up your family’s raffle tickets and to sign up to work at this year’s

festival.

As always, we need a large number of people to volunteer to make this day a

success. Working at the festival is a great way to meet new people, or if you have

a group of friends who would like to work together, we are always in need of teams

of table waiters.

We encourage the young people of the parish to help at the festival. The sign-

up sheet has a section of booths/activities that are appropriate for young workers

(age 12-17). Children under the age of 12 must have an adult sign up to work with

them.

Please don’t wait for us to call you. Signing up after Mass will only take a few

moments of your time but is a tremendous help to those who are involved in the

planning of the festival. PLEASE come pick up your raffle tickets and sign up to

work. This will save time and money. Also, pray for good weather and a

successful festival. Thank you in advance for your support of this parish activity.

The Great Adventure Bible Timeline Study Group Fridays, starting August 11th from 9:00—10:30am

An evening class will be added if there is enough interest.

Jeff Cavins developed The Great Adventure to enable people to grasp the big

picture of the Bible. By reading the narrative books, a chronological story emerges.

The Bible Timeline program teaches the story in a way that is easy to remember

and helps people to continue reading Scripture on their own. Come join us as we

discover “the big picture” of God’s plan in Scripture, see our place in that plan and

live it out in our lives. To register please call the Parish Office at 812-934-3204.

St. Louis Parish Council Elections The bios for the candidates running for Parish Council are on the back page of this

bulletin. Voting will take place at all Masses the weekend of July 29 & 30. You

can also submit a ballot at the parish office on Monday, July 31.

St. Louis Athletic Board Fundraiser - Bill Giltz Memorial Golf Outing The 15th Annual Bill Giltz Memorial Golf Tournament will take place

at North Branch Golf Course in New Point on Monday, July 31st.

The event is open to everyone and will be played as a 4-person

handicap scramble. The entry fee is $90 per player which includes

greens fee, cart fee, lunch, dinner, beverages and raffle. The

proceeds go directly to the Bill Giltz Memorial Fund which helps

support the St. Louis Athletic Program. Entries must be received by

Prayer for Archbishop-Designate Charles C. Thompson

O God, eternal shepherd of the faithful, who tend your Church in countless ways and rule over her in love, grant, we pray, that your servant Archbishop-Designate Charles Thompson, whom you have set over your people, may preside in the place of Christ over the flock whose shepherd he is, and be faithful as a teacher of doctrine, a priest of sacred worship and as one who serves them by governing. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

ST. LOUIS PARISH COUNCIL NOMINEES

Bill Giltz Hello, my name is Bill Giltz and my parents are Lori and Mike Giltz. I believe that we are called to serve and share of

our time and talents. When asked about serving on Parish Council, I felt that this was my way to serve and lead by

example. As a lifelong parishioner and resident of Batesville, I feel that I can help to impact the parish in a positive

way by bringing a “youth” perspective to the council. Being an active member of the parish not only fulfills your

promise with God, but enriches your life to influence others in a positive way. It would be an honor to serve on Parish

Council, and to fulfill my duty to serve and to share my time and talents.

Barbara Greene Hello, my name is Barbara Greene and I have been a member of St. Louis Parish for 15 years. My past parish

volunteer activities include: CLOW, Religious Education (CCD), parish festival, vacation bible camp, and Families

Helping Families. My husband TJ and I have three children: Grant (19), Madeline (17) and Evan (4). I want to serve

on the Parish Council to promote positive collaboration and communication among parishioners, our pastor, and the

Archdiocese.

Ed Hoog Hello, my name is Ed Hoog. My wife Beth and I have been members of St. Louis Parish for 15 years. Our elder son

Mark will be a junior at Indiana University studying Environmental Management. Our daughter Marie just graduated

from Oldenburg Academy and will be entering Ball State University in the fall, studying to be a high school math

teacher. Our younger son Matthew will be a junior at Oldenburg Academy this year, playing varsity soccer. Beth and I

volunteered for bingo for several years, and the entire family worked the tic-tac-toe booth at the parish festival. I’m

volunteering for parish council because I want to serve our parish community.

Jim Kuisel Hello, my name is Jim Kuisel and I have been a member of St. Louis Parish since 1978. Pauline and I have six

children and two of our children, Jason and Wende Lambert, live in Batesville. I see being a member of the Parish

Council as an opportunity to listen and hear your ideas about improvements to our parish. Questions I have will

center around identifying the opportunities we have to grow St. Louis Parish and make it the parish of choice.

Clifford Niese Hello, my name is Clifford Niese and I have been a lifelong member of St. Louis Parish. I attended St. Louis School

before attending and graduating from Indiana School for the Blind in Indianapolis. My wife Elizabeth Sue and I have

three children and seven grandchildren. I retired from Hill-Rom Company after 39 years of service. I’ve enjoyed

participating in the parish programs of “That Man Is You” and “Christ Renews His Parish.” I want to serve on Parish

Council to help guide the parish in its mission.

Todd Tekulve Hello, my name is Todd Tekulve. I graduated from St. Louis School (1985), Batesville High School (1989) and Purdue

University (1993) with a Civil Engineering degree. I am a registered Professional Engineer. I have worked for

Batesville Casket over 15 years in a variety of roles with my current role being Product Manager. My wife Mari and I

will celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary this year. We have three children: Ben (17), Molly (11) and Brad (10). I

have been a member of St. Louis Parish my entire life. This is the parish where I was baptized, made my First

Communion, First Confession, confirmed and married. I have called Bingo and have ushered over 20 years. Serving

on Parish Council is the next logical opportunity for me to give back to my parish.

St. Louis Parish extends its thanks to these six parishioners who raised their hand

to be considered for Parish Council.

Next weekend, July 29 & 30, at all Masses, we will be voting for 2 candidates for Parish Council.

Ballots can also be submitted at the parish office on Monday, July 31.
