Mathematicians, A-Z Mathematical concepts, results and

named theorems, Floor Crossing Completion, A-Z

Mathematics Anthyakshari, Logical and Lateral Thinking,

Poster & Presentations were organized for BSc Students

The Department of Mathematics & Statistics celebrated National

Statistics Day on 29th

June of every year. National Statistics Day is celebrated to mark the birth anniversary of

Prof. Prasanta Chandra Mahalanobis, a renowned& eminent statistician.

The Department conducted various activities to the BSc II & III year MSCs students as a part of celebration.

The students participated with great enthusiasm. The students prepared Posters which reflected the contributions

of Prof. Prasanta Chandra Mahalanobis, Prof. R. A Fisher, George Galton, Karl Pearson and other eminent

Statisticians

The students were divided into 5 teams, each team comprised of 8 students. Activities like Written Test in

which students were given 25 questions; they were expected to give maximum number of answers in 20

minutes of time limit. Other activities such as Floor Crossing in which students were asked to utter

statistician’s names or various concepts of statistics which was conducted like Anthyakshari. Activities like

Quiz were a part of the event. Puzzles which portrait Statistics words & concepts of Statistics were the

questions in it.
